Here's a little story/scene!
Dream cantered the course, responding beautifully to all of his riders commands. After soaring over a small oxer, they were headed to the jump that they both dreaded. A 5 foot water jump. Dream surged forward, feeling his riders confidence. 2 feet away from the jump, Dream saw a plastic bag floating in the stands. His attention on the jump lost, he bowled into it sending rails in all directions, shocked.
Later on, he was being rubbed down and untacked. His rider was very disappointed as they had been disqualified from the competition.
That very day, when the competition was over and the arena was empty and quiet, Dreams rider led him gently in the course.
Then, in silence they beautifully maneuvered the course, taking each jump gracefully and neatly. Soon, they were heading for the 5 ft. water jump. The only sounds were the pounding of Dreams hoofs and the beating of their hearts. Power surged through Golden Dream's veins, and his muscles rippled. He soared over the water jump. It seemed like they were frozen in time. Dream landed beautifully, sweat covering his sleek hair. With a lap of victory, Dreams rider raised her fist in triumph.
They might not of done it in the middle of the competition, but they had just done it now, and that was good enough for them.
And here is the story of his birth!
A beautiful, young mare lay exhausted in the paddock. A ray of sun reached her and she breathed in relief. Chest heaving, she lay her head down. Contraptions rippled through her body and the mare huffed loudly. Shortly after, humans came rushing towards her, feeling her belly and stroking her softly. Another human appeared on the scene, this one having a white coat. The man pulled out a bandage and wrapped the mares tail in it. With another contraption, the mare rolled the whites of her eyes in pain. She could sense nervousness in the humans voices. A few hours later, a wet foal lay beside her, trying to stand on his wobbly legs. A miracle foal. The vet said that he doubted any of the horses could make it. The small foal stood for the first time and hobbled toward his mother, wanting to nurse. His mother refused to stand, and breathed quickly as her sides heaved. She died that day, but her foal would live. The ranchers young daughter, Izzy, nursed the newborn foal and developed a bond with him. She named the foal Golden Dream, for it had always been her dream to work with and care for newborn foals. Both the foal and the girl grew up and were inseparable. Dream and Izzy would compete together, work together, and best of all love each other.
Personality/Dislikes/Likes
Golden Dream is often considered as a gentle giant. He would be perfectly willing to tow around a baby in a wagon, but would prefer not to. He can be rather strong-willed but will do almost anything his companion and rider, Izzy commands. He loves oats and makes the cutest face if he thinks that will help him get any. He loves when Izzy puts her little dog on his back and he is allowed to romp around carrying the dog! He highly dislikes thunderstorms and trailers, as he likes to see a bright blue sky. Dream has a large fear of flying objects such as plastic bags, and sounds like the sound of snow pants. He enjoys when people whistle and will often come curiously and listen if they do. But no matter his flaws, Izzy think he is perfect in every way!
