Fisive licked his wounds. He noted that more than his pride was hurt this time
and made sure that each scratch was cleaned. He thought to himself, "For some
reason, alphas don't care for when I get aggressive about my shiny rocks that
other members try to take." Fisive growled; thoroughly irritated. "Unfortunately,
it just so happens that the 'other members' are usually an offspring of the alpha's.
They were all old enough to know better than to steal." He grumbled. "It doesn't
matter which pack, I've never found one that was different than the rest. They are
all the same; the whole lot willing to run me off the moment I defend myself..."
Fisive's head raised sharply and he flicked his ears. "Maybe that's what I should
do. Hm, my own pack.. Where would I begin? ...I suppose with territory." He
smiled. No longer would he look for a family to join, he would look for a family to
build. "Surely, it couldn't be that hard, could it?"

The horizon was swimming...

Bubbles drifted above my head. My cries were drowned by the salty water engulfing my body. Lower, lower, sinking farther... in a only a few moments I would be gone. The sun was so beautiful; glinting off the roiling surface above. This was a peaceful final sight. The struggle was useless; I have no swimming skills whatsoever. A tear leaked out of my eye, joining the ocean. Lungs burning for air, I close my eyes, pleading silently for it to be over. 'Whooshh..." A ripple caresses my face. I force my eyes open once more, and see a shadow shooting towards me. Another viscet? B-but, it can't be. I was shipwrecked, and my entire crew had perished. The shadow came closer. I could hardly see it, for I was so very deep now. I wanted to shut down. I had fought, and my spark was weary, dimming weakly. The shadow shimmied closer. It was another, but not of my crew. Oh, I could see his face now; the color of the horizon. He was golden, swirling stripes upon his face... was it a spirit? My mind is fading, my system failing. The sun was out of sight. Was this it? Darkness? No, here he comes! He's-saving me. His jaw clamps my arm, tugging me up. I'm so limp! He should leave me, save himself. But he doesn't. He let's out a torrent of bubbles in a grunt with the effort, and pushing his head under my back, propels us to the surface. Oh, the sun! He's bringing me back to life! The glassy surface looms nearer; and our heads break through. I black out.

...And carried me on it's back.

various creatures of the sea darted past. I snapped my teeth at them playfully, chasing and twisting
in the water, forgetting for just one moment that I was a creature of the land. As I drifted down I felt
my paws hit the sand below, sending up clouds of blue dust. I waited for as long as I could, simply
watching the world turn around me, until my lungs burned and my constant shivering annoyed me to
the point of surfacing. With a quick flick of my tail I breached the surface, choking and spasming for
air. I pouted a bit as I clamored to the bank, shaking off the beads of water. Turning toward the deep
blue I smiled fondly, cherishing the moment, before rushing back to the warmth of my den."
