Nakahi gently padded through her home, the forest she'd become so acquainted to sign center her hatching. She was looking for the castle she'd found exploring. There were so many books... Books were her most favorite things, they were like portals to another world, a new galaxy, wherever the book would transport her to! She'd found some jewelry there, but it was all tarnished and dull, not really worth her collection. Archaeology was one of her favorite hobbies. She could dig up history of eras gone by, piecing together the history of the place she was digging in. She'd taken a liking to some of the books there however, as they were all about various things, from fantasy to non-fiction to the history of the kingdom that once stood here... She was in love with it all.
Nakahi had left her small home at dawn, and it was now afternoon. She'd found hints that she was getting close to where the kingdom once stood. But, when she found the ruins of the small town, she knew she was close. She was very close. Just a few more miles to the castle! She couldn't wait to get there! Nakahi had brought a sack with her to carry as many books as she could, more to fill the bookshelves carved into the walls of her cave home. She was so excited! Running now on all fours, she covered much more ground than what she would running on her hind legs. Taking bounding steps, her paws pounded the forest floor, dodging ruins of stone houses. She longed to dig in the homes, but she'd come for one thing only: More books for her home.
The Viscet had also adored archaeology since she was around a year old, she was six now. It had all started when she dug up a very old vase playing in the dirt one evening. That sparked something inside of her, and she couldn't drop the hobby. She went for digs around the forest, and had a collection of historical finds on one bookshelf. Her cave home was filled with bookshelves carved into the walls, and she aimed to fill each and every one with either books or her finds from digs. She had found many books on digging from aimless vagabonds that explored the first area she called home, and added those to her collection. Soon, she was a self-declared archaeologist.
Approaching the castle, she squeezed in through a gap in the stone wall of the castle, heading to the library. She pulled a few fancy-looking books down, opening them to find that there was more history about the kingdom! She quickly and carefully put them in her satchel, pulling a few more books down. One was about knights and princesses, another about fairy tales from the time the kingdom stood, another of animals and plants. She gently tucked those in her sack, gently moving down the aisles. More and more books filled her sack until she couldn't carry anymore. With a longing glance over her shoulder, she left the castle, excited for her next return to the castle.
