Story;; (less than 600 words)
Tick tock, tick tock, ding ding ding, Its 8 o'clock, time to hear the bells ring, time to go to sleep , sweet dreams my little Viscet!

This is the song Ticktock was named after and heard everyday before going to sleep since he was a hatchling. His mother was trying to figure out a name for him, and she couldn't, this was her first egg, she planned everything, but the darn name. Ticky's grandmother suggested that he should say his first word to find a way to name him after it. Ticky's mother agreed and waited weeks until his first word was spoken. No suprise it came as TickTock, since his mother sang him that little melody everynight at 8 to but him to bed. The young viscent became known as TickTock. Ticky didn't only have an odd name but also hobbies and personality. He loved clocks for the matter and enjoyed studying them rather than playing with the others outside. He enjoyed watching the gears move and tick, and decided he wanted to know how they worked. how they where created, who created them, and what he could with them in the future... He also liked to read, he would enjoy going outside at night, with a firelit lamp and sit down at a tree with a flat rock under it, and read books. His favorite where usually nonfiction, while others could say romace, mystery, sci-fi, Ticky's was nonfiction, he really wanted to know what was real and didn't believe what was fiction, he wanted to know how the world really works, he thought it maybe worked like the gears in a clock, if one part doesn't work then the others won't.

Sum-up: Ticky loves clocks and nonfiction, very reality based, and a nonbeliver of many things.

Story;;
Perking her ears, her eyes were glued to a single slither of black that peeked over the tall, dark grass. She carefully placed one paw after the other, keeping her head locked and her tail stiffened up to be at the same height as her back. The small patch of black now lightly shifted from her view a couple of inches. She quickly froze and held her breath, feeling the pressure of her joints locking into place. When it felt safe to move again she slowly let her muscles relax, then felt an instinctive burning in her legs and began to sway her haunches. She shifted her weight back and pounced - a single, mighty leap. She now pinned down her now noisy prey - her brother, who squirmed under her grasp. He began spitting various cusses at her but all she could do was laugh. She got 'em, and she got 'em good!

Story;;

Nothing moved. No one breathed. The only noise was the ticking of the clock. Time seemed to trickle on like a small stream, continuous, yet slow. Cecil sighed. It has already been three hours. The white walls of the sanitary hospital created a haze in his mind. Worry pulsed throughout his body. Maybe Claudia would never come out. His thoughts turned to a happier past, a time without hospitals, medicines, and surgeries. A time when they were free. When the sun shone over their giant oak tree, promising a bright future. All this didn't couldn't change in a day. Or so he thought.

Nothing could have prepared him for that fateful day. The day when they knew his dear friend Claudia was ill. It took months for them to realize that this was no common cold, and months later to pinpoint the problem. Cecil learned all this at the little girl's bedside as he shared his company, letting Claudia push her cold hand into his warm, plush pelt. The young human girl smiled, her beauty as radiant as the sun. The Viscet smiled back before getting up and comically staggering across the room. Claudia laughed a laugh like ringing bells, bringing delight to all around her. She reached over, grabbed a part of his mane, and began to braid. Taking her hair tie, she secured it tightly. Happiness bounced around the room, so vivid you could almost see it. With a nod of his head and a wave of his tail, Cecil said goodbye to his playmate of many years. Reaching up, he felt the strong, sturdy braid beneath is paws. He stood there, savouring it's emotional sweetness. He glanced back, his last sight the brilliant smile of the young girl, then the door shut.

A few days later, the girl's parents walked into her bedroom where Cecil slept and began to cry into his fur. They slowly slipped a collar around his neck and led him outside. The Viscet stood, in shock at the turn in events. There, waiting in the yard, was a small boy no older than six. He was led up by his parents, who were clutching him tightly. Shaking, the young man held up a hand and reached forward, groping for a handhold. Without waiting, Cecil stuck his head forward, under the small boys hand. The Viscet didn't understand why this boy needed so much assistance. Above him, he heard many words, like "Autistic" and "Blind", which meant nothing to him. Disturbed he looked up at his former caregivers, who were nodding sadly at him. He understood. He had a new child now. He licked the kid on the cheek. Surprised, the six year old jumped, then laughed happily. This was a new beginning.
As time went on, memories faded. Time sung it's song and continued forward. One memory he could never forget is the little girl's radiant smile as the door slowly clicked shut.
