What's their greatest dream?:
Dear Danika:
We have received your poem, which was very well written as usual, but Pen and Ink Magazine remains firm in stating that we currently do not accept submissions written by Viscet authors.
Although the staff enjoys your lovely poetry, we ask politely but firmly that you do not continue to send us more of your writing, as we have stated several times that we will not accept Viscet works.
Please do not take this personally, as Pen and Ink Magazine, although geared toward humans, is not meant to discriminate against other species. We fear, however, that the public will be unhappy if writing from what they still see as just animals- animals that are believed to be uncivilized and inferior- appears in such a esteemed writer's magazine.
Thank you, and we wish you the best of luck with your writing.
Sincerely,
The Staff at Pen and Ink Magazine
Danika's greatest dream is for her poetry to be recognized and published in the human world. She doesn't care about fame, or money, she just wants to be able to publish her works without being discriminated against for being just an animal. She wants to be treated just like any other aspiring poet- to be critiqued and praised for the quality of her poems, without the fact that she walks on all fours influencing said critique.
She knows that her poetry is good enough for the publications she's submitted it to, but she keeps on getting rejection letters because of her species. However, she's quite persistent. . .
