I keep it all. Just in case I might need it.
Salem believes in the supernatural. The paranormal. Anything that might not be believed by anybody else. This doesn't mean he believes in bigfoot, or the yeti. Those are old folktales, but Salem believes in ghosts and all spiritual creatures. More importantly, Salem keeps a small journal of his. Every single piece of information this boy has found about the supernatural over the past three years is stored in that small book. News clippings of unexplained mysteries, strands of unidentifiable animal hair, and even some of his own sketches are in there. He travels everywhere with this book, mostly in the summer though, the real excitement begins. Somehow, this young boy has managed to stay with his great relatives many years in a row. He ventures off into the montana wilderness, collecting data, and finding out everything he can about the mysteries of life.
"H-hey!! don't show people those sketches! they were from like… 6 years ago!!"
Salem really does love his sister. He enjoys her music, and even takes time out of his "busy" schedule to hang out with her. Yet, sometimes tempers to flare and he ends up either running out of the house, or chasing her around.
Salem is very close to his mother. He loves her artistic skills, and often requests that she draws something in his journal for him. Her cleverness probably rubbed off on him as a baby. Salem can be angry at Huo for her busy schedule, but he knows deep down she works for the family.
Oh boy, Salem and his dad. When the boy was younger, he always clung onto his Huo. Nobody really knows why, but as he got older, he slowly grew to follow his dad as well. His go with the flow attitude clashes with Salem's strict, rule keeping attitude, often resulting in small arguments. Yet, they get over it quickly and always have fun together in the end.

Salem couldn't help but feel a pang of anxiousness as he wandered
to the mouth of the cave. It was dark and looming, like something
out of a nightmare. He shivered, practically dragging his paws forward.
This could possibly be the biggest step he has ever taken in his short
12-year old life. Satchel hanging from his back, the young plumerian
took his first fews steps into the cave.
The inside was dark and musky, it smelled of rain. If that is even a
smell people can identify. Salem walked along the damp cave floor,
his ears flicked up in interest. The only sound was the occasional
water droplet. Hah, how typical. Suddenly, the young plumerian
froze as he spotted a small mark on the wall. His nose twitched,
and he couldn't help but wander closer. Well, it turned out the
mark on the wall just was a large crack. He pouted, and flattened
his ears against his head. Salem gave a small sigh of defeat.
Another fail, three times this past week. Finding paranormal stuff
wasn't as easy as most people imagined.
On the way out, a small, white piece of cloth caught his attention.
It was half flattened under a rock, tattered and crinkled. Bingo!
Salem tripped his way over to the rock, shifting it until the cloth
was freed. He held it up to his face, turning it around. Seemed
kind of old. Salem grinned, and stuffed it in his bag. Finally!
