Gender: Female
What happened to her?:
Before I answer your questions I have to mention that some answers are just guesses. Nitama seems to know humans but I wasn't able to find out to whom she belonged before. No wonder, regarding her injuries.Did that happen when she was younger or "yesterday"?- Her wounds are rather young and not all are completely keloided, yet. Additionally she still seems to be a bit paralysed. Therefore I'm quite sure her "accident" happened recently.
Does she trust other beeings?- Rarely. As I mentioned above she is somehow paralysed. But Nitama just suspects humans. Other Oxiries are totally fine for her and even make her feel a bit save.
Does she trust you as a new owner?- Not yet. But I think this is no hopeless point. Especially when I work together with Ngana I think we'll be able to break the ice and finally find a way for her to feel comportable with us.
Additional: What I think what happened to her:
First I have to mention that my buck Ngana often accompanies me when I go for a hunt. He is a loyal and gladly fearless companion. I know my brave boy might be an exception, regarding the creatures we usually hunt. Sometimes I'm a bit afraid that other people try to imitate this without remembering how exciting and not least dangerous a hunt can be. Therefore I somehow feel a bit responsible for Nitama, even if I don't know my imaginations about her past are true.
I think Nitamas accident happened in the near forest. Passionated hunters sometimes try to catch a rare and dangerous creature there,
the NargacugaAs I mentioned Nitama knows humans I bet she followed her former owner into the forest. I really hope she was there as a companion and I don't even want to think about the possibility she could be misused as a bait for the greater predator. Anyways, I think even the decision to take her on a hunt was the point when things started to went wrong. She might not have been shy or anxious but it needs more than being brave for a good hunting partner. One of those needs is a clever hunter who knows about the intelligence of his opponent and therefore leaves his companion in a great distance.
On her trip into the jungle the Nargacuga surprised Nitama and her human. It tracked them and finally attacked. I don't have to mention that running is a good choice in such situations. But Nargacugas are fast and the forest is their home. It brought quarry to bay and hit Nitama with its claws. Her ear was wounded and her horn broke. But somehow she managed it to escape. Maybe her human irritated the big predator for a moment.
Nitama ran for her life but while she tried to get some distance between her and the monster its tail thorns hit her (they are rarely visible on the provided picture but nevertheless they are there). A Nargacuga has many thorns on its tail. They are slim and spiky, just like needles... ok, like very big needles. That would explain Nitamas fine wounds. Regarding the amazing speed of this predator it's no wonder that the Nargacuga hit her several times.
But finally Nitama escaped and some other humans found her near the forest, paralysed, shaky and badly wounded.
the Nargacuga (c) by Capcom, taken from the Monster Hunter game series (I chose it because my buck Ngana is the companion of my MH character)
