xxx“Is this really such a good idea?”
xxx“You’ll be fine Sebby, calm down. This isn’t like last
week’s adventure.” Parker said reassuringly.
xxx“Y-you said that last time…” Sebastian whimpered.
xxxParker turned back towards his friend with a smile.
He knew that last time had been a bit of a
fiasco, finding a bear and all, but they got
out of it, didn’t they?
xxx“Well… yeah. But THAT time I didn’t know where
we were going!” Parker said, hoping to
cheer his friend up, but the statement was
followed only by another whimper. Parker
sighed. Why was it always so difficult to
get Sebastian into things? He was so worried
about everything that it was hard to get him
to go anywhere.
xxx“I know where we’re going to today, and I haven’t
run into any trouble before. Just trust me.”
Parker put his tail over Sebastian’s back in an
attempt to comfort him.
xxx“I promise not to put you in a situation that’s too
unBEARable.” The pun earned a small giggle
from Sebby, which in turn made a big,
goofy grin spread across Parkers face.
xxx“Alright…” Sebastian said quietly. I suppose it can’t
be too bad. Parker nodded and once again took the lead.
xxxThe two friends padded through the dark forest,
surrounded by the sound of the wind whistling through
the trees. A few songbirds called out to Sebastian,
seeing his distress, which helped to calm the
plumie down. As he started to relax, Sebastian
noticed that the path that they were taking was
worn, and seemed to have been used frequently.
Maybe Parker did know where he was going.
xxxIt wasn’t long before Parker told Sebastian to close
his eyes, signaling that the two were very close to
their destination. After a few blind steps, Parker
allowed his friend to open his eyes.
xxx“Woah…” Sebastian said, staring at the area in disbelief.
A beautiful clearing lay before him, lush with tall
grass and several wildflowers. The sun shone
through the trees, creating a bright atmosphere
and making Sebastian love the place even more.
He looked over to his friend, who, oddly enough,
had his head down submissively, and was also
blushing profusely.
xxx“Are you okay?” Sebastian asked. Parker was never like this…
something had to be wrong.
xxx“I-I’m fine.” Parker regained his composure with a shake of
his head. He took a deep breath and turned to
Sebastian, who was staring at him, concerned.
xxx“This, my friend, is the best place in the forest. It’s where I
go when I need some time alone…” Parker said
shakily. What was happening to him? This was
not the time to fall apart. He took a deep
breath and began again.
xxx“I’ve never shown anyone this before, and you gotta swear
not to tell anyone about it.” Sebastian nodded
in response, but didn’t say anything.
xxx“I come here sometimes when I’m feeling depressed, so no one
can see me break.” Parker stared at the ground,
trying his best to keep from crying.
xxx“I just felt like I needed to show you this. It’s always been a place
of sadness for me, but I figured it would make
you happy. Such a pretty place deserves some
happiness in it.” Parker sniffled. Sebastian
smiled weakly, fighting the urge to cry himself.
He had never seen Parker like this before.
He walked over to Parker and nuzzled his neck.
xxx“It’s okay, bro.” Sebby said, trying to be cool like Parker to lift
his spirits. The fox plumie laughed.
xxx“Bro? Really?” Parker perked up at his friend’s attempt to use
‘cool kid’ slang.
xxx“Am I out of date?” Sebastian said, playing along.
xxx“Not at all…” Parker leaned over and affectionately licked his
friend on the cheek. Sebastian blushed and let out a small squeak.
xxx“Don’t get used to that bud, you just caught me in a sappy mood.”

I met with Parker today and we had a great day together!
He convinced me again to go on an adventure with
him today, even though I was scared at first… He
showed me his favourite place, a glade, deep in
the woods. I loved it, everything was so silent,
yet full of life! Parker said he often goes here
when he’s sad or angry, just away from home.
I’ve never seen him cry, even in those
moments where I wouldn’t even be able to
hide it. I really look up to him--he’s so brave
and always knows how to make me happy
when I’m down. He’s always there for me.
I really like him, very much, but I don’t
know how to tell him…
Maybe I will be able to do it someday.
Finding the right words is never easy.
What if he doesn’t like me as much as
I do? What if our friendship breaks
because of me? I am so afraid of saying
something wrong that may hurt him… But
what if he feels the same? Will we ever
be able to confess it?

Parker is an adventurous spirit with a love for nature.
He is always going on adventures, usually bringing a
reluctant Sebastian along with him. Even though Parker
insists that the expeditions are harmless, the two
friends tend to run into some trouble. If it wasn’t
for Sebastian, Parker would have quite a few issues
trying to get out of the sticky situations.
Although Parker’s confidence tends to be enough to
get him what he wants, the task sometimes proves more
difficult that it may seem. If this is the case, Parker will
try anything to get his way. If needed, Parker can be
extremely persuasive, manipulative and even whiney.
Begging is the last resort, but is usually the most
efficient, provided the other tactics have already worn
down the 'victim'.
Even though Parker’s ‘cool kid’ side is the part of him
shown most frequently, he can be very sensitive as well.
He tries his best to be nice to others, but his sarcasm is
sometimes taken the wrong way. This is almost always
unintentional, and when Parker realizes his mistake, he
apologizes immediately. The amount of sarcasm used in a
conversation depends on the individual he is talking with.
Sebastian gets quite a bit of it, as Parker knows he
won’t be offended.
Pretty much anyone could look at Parker and know
he’s pretty well off in terms of the social ladder,
but most wouldn’t be able to figure out that he
didn’t start out that way.
❝ Never met my parents… Most of my childhood
was spent in the orphanage with a bunch of
downers. Ugh… at least I had people to talk to. ❞
❝ I never really liked any of the foster homes I was
sent to. None of them had other kids to play with
and I was kinda lonely. Plus, several of
the foster parents didn’t know what the heck to
do with me. Most of the time I ended up running
away from the damn places, only to be found and
herded back to the orphanage. Thank goodness
they finally gave up trying. ❞
Parker denies that his first ten years of life affected
him as much as it actually did. He developed a sensitive
side, but tried his best to cover it up. All those years
faking confidence inevitably led to a little
troublemaker. Most of the confidence, sarcasm and
witty comments Parker sports today are completely
real, as he has started to grow into the part of
himself originally created to hide his true emotions.
❝ Okay, fine. Maybe I do have a sensitive side. You
can’t tell anyone, you hear me? Whenever
I’m around Sebastian I can feel that part of me
coming out… it’s stupid. I swear if you tell
anyone about this… ❞

Sebastian seems like the total opposite of Parker
to those who don’t know the two. They have
more in common than one might think, but
are still vastly different. For instance,
Sebastian isn’t quite adventurous at all
(most likely because of his shyness),
and is always trying to avoid trouble
of any kind. Other plumies bully him in
school, saying that he’s a coward, when
really he just prefers a safer path.
It takes a long time for Sebastian to open up
and trust others, but when he does, his kind,
loving and protective side shines through.
He’s not the kind of plumie that leaves his
friends alone if they need him, and is always
their side, no matter what happens. When a
friend is in need, Sebastian ignores his worries
in fear of being rejected by a friend.
Sebastian usually doesn’t go far away from home
unless Parker convinces him to go on an adventure.
He hates making difficult choices, and is afraid
of going the wrong way, which is why he prefers
following over leading. Sebastian also despises
goodbyes and letting go,as he tends to get
over-attached to others. He isn’t very
talkative unless he’s with his closest budies,
and even then, he seems to hold back any
argument and anger, hoping not to
cause any problems.
Sebastian enjoys nature, and when Parker suggests an adventure in the forest,
it is hard for him to disagree. The forest is always so quiet and full of life and joy.
The fresh green leaves and the smell of the grass make him feel free and full of energy.
Sebastian had a fairly good upbringing, unlike Parker.
He loved spending time in the woods, but never wandered
too far from what he knew. The woodland animals began
to take a liking to the hound soon after he started exploring.
Sebby named each and every one of the forest animals he met.
Thus, his love for animals was born.
When Sebastian started school, he found that it wasn’t as
fun as he thought it would be. He loved learning, but the
other kids made fun of him for asking too many questions.
Sebby decided that I would get better if he just stayed quiet
and found the answers to his questions on his own time. This
satisfied the others for a bit, but soon they started making
fun of him for being so quiet. The arrival of a new student
soon changed this.
❝ When Parker first came to the school,
it was obvious that he was going to rule the classroom.
To be honest, I thought he was going to be just like the
other kids, and make fun of me for being a coward. Instead,
he was really nice, and started sticking up for me when
the others teased me. I’ll never forget that first time he
told another student to ‘Get away from my friend
and stop being such a meanie pants!’ ❞
