Group FormUsername: -Willow
Number: 4
Name: Four
I find 'names' to be meaningless and without point. Often times, they are just used for formal introduction and nothing more. They are not used often, and are cumbersome. I was the fourth to join this group, so I will call myself Four.Gender: Female
Third eye power:
concealment; can visually conceal herself/the group at will but only for very short periods at a time; does not work with sounds/light
With the power of concealment, Four can get the group out of some tough situations. While it was hard for her to control at first, it wasn't long before she mastered the ability. That's not to say when she is embarrassed or upset or panicked it won't trigger involuntarily. Her power has it's limits as well. Lights and sounds are cannot be concealed, and it does not stop the fact that things- such as falling snow, sand and things of the like- stick to the group and give away their position. It only provides camouflage.
Grate Sound:
Normally Four's grate makes barely a whisper, like that of wind through trees or an empty hallway. On occasion, though, it will 'glitch out', creating a loud bang or booming noise. It is assumed that this stems from the fact that she was born severely mutated and did not properly form in the womb.
Personality:
Four is a very chilled Hazard Cat, preferring to sit in the background providing moral support. She is not one to fight and doesn't do very good in a hostile situation. Often times she will use her third eye power to cause herself to vanish from sight. She can be rather jumpy and tense, as the ridicule of her past continues to haunt her. She tries her best to remain calm and collected, trying not to allow others in but she has found that that is impossible. She has allowed herself to accept the other members of the group into her heart and has claimed them as family.
She finds she is able to relax around them, most of the time. Four can smile around them and laugh- be herself. She has been allowed to find who she really is, who is a supportive- yet pessimistic- Hazard. She likes to laugh and enjoys just being with her 'family'. It is really all she has ever wanted in life- a place to belong and a family. It is comforting to know that no matter what, she has that now.
Phobias and Minor Fears:
You wouldn't think it, but Four has several fears and phobias. She covers them fairly well, until the panic grows too much.
severe katsaridaphobia- the fear of cockroaches
pistanthrophobia- which is the fear trusting others due of negative past experiences
slight anthropophobia- the fear of people/humans
slight astrophobia- the fear of (outer)space
finding love and starting a family
getting hurt/pain
the other leaving, forgetting or abandoning her
Relation to the Others:
Four was hesitant to join when she first came across Icarus, Kaliyah, and Hamlin, but only because she feared being ridiculed and emotionally abandoned again. It was never easy when she was a spark or a teen, and she didn't want to back up. Now? Four does not regret joining with the group. She feels safe and as though she has family, even though none of them are blood.
Icarus; One;
One is our leader, a position I will never envy him. He has a lot on his shoulders. Our lives, his own, and the safety of us all. It's a big job, but he carries it well. He's a good leader.Four doesn't exactly have the best relationship with Icarus. It is tense, mostly due in part of her grate, but she respects him. She knows he just wants them all to remain safe. After all, the five of them are outcasts after all. She tries to have patience with him and usually allows herself to be ordered and pushed around. Actually, she some-what looks up to Icarus in some ways.
Two;
She's a skill scout, for one her age. She's cute. It's nice to have another female in the group, though, and she makes good company. Especially when you're feeling down or something. Two really knows how to pick someone up.Kaliyah and Four have a good relationship, almost friendship. She finds she has a good time being around the small Hazard Cat and has a hard time being down with her. When One is being particularly sour, she'll carry Two around if she(Two) wants. Four often times will only converse with her. Kaliyah was the first to actually make her feel welcome and quickly she began to think of the small Hazard as a younger sibling.
Hamlin; Three;
Quite frankly, Three is rather intimidating. He never speaks much, and he certainly does get a certain joy from startling me sometimes. He's asking for it, but I don't think I'll ever be able to give it back. I'll just keep dealing with it.There isn't really much of a relationship to build off of here. Hamlin and Four doesn't exactly see eye-to-eye, and really she daunted by the younger Hazard. He is secretive and doesn't talk. Despite his scaring her almost constantly, she refuses to fight back. She wishes she could get along with Hamlin, really, but knows that that may take some time.
Obsidian; Five;
Five is very rash. He doesn't think things through and is headstrong. While he is a great strategist, he could do to do so with a bit more planning. He's a good kid, though. A little wily, but a good kid.Obsidian and Four are on okay-terms. She can get along with him most of time and can even work with him. While she most of the time urges him to reconsider is plans and actions to things much less hasty, it really doesn't take long before she simply gives up. He can be a pain in the neck at times, though.
Group Position;
Four is a physically very strong Hazard cat, but this isn't what defines her position among the others. It is her third eye power: concealment. She hides the group when they are being pursued to allow for an escape. She provides their escape route. The safeguard. Four feels she is still trying to find her place among the other four cats despite this.
How Four Joined the Group;
One found us all. Mutants and outcasts from Hazard Cat society. We were all shunned and pushed away from others, only to find solace and asylum in each other. One, he's a fair leader. Gruff and a bit cold, but he does put the rest of us before himself. He keeps us all safe. Three, though he's quiet and doesn't speak much, is amazing when it comes to planning out where we will strike next. He never does anything without consulting One, though. After all, that is one of the rules. Five is impulsive and childish, and his fireworks are always giving away our location. That's alright though, he's sweet and can lift our spirits if we're down with his antics. Two, Two is adorable in terms of her size and personality. She is meek and a good bit shy, but great in a tough situation. She what most would consider a 'scout', flying ahead of us all and reporting back with what she's seen. This is great, because we're all 'fugitives' in a sense. It's not that we've done anything wrong, it's that we're all distorted and not like the rest. Everyone fears what they cannot understand, after all.
Me? Well, that's a complicated story...
I was born to two seemingly average Hazard Cats. My mother sporting a rather plan and simple coat with monotone colors. My father was more vibrant. His coat bright with markings that seemed to shimmer with different colors. I was supposed to be 'lucky' to have gotten a coat as vibrant as his and colors more muted like my mother's. But they were unable to see past what I looked like.
I had tiny, wiggly nubs on my head and shoulders, and my tail was incomplete and made my crackle all wrong. Not to mention the giant slit that showed where my third eye was. I was deformed, the complete opposite of the 'perfect child' they had always dreamed I would be. Not to mention the sound that came from my grate glitched out occasionally, creating a loud banging sound. Luckily for me, I learned quick. I spent my time alone, shunned and hidden away. They didn't want anyone to know I even existed. Growing tired of hearing them murmur about how 'hideous' I was and about I 'was a disgrace', I left soon after hitting my teen years. I figured I was better off alone anyway.
My parents never named me, so when I met One and the others, I didn't have anything to tell them. I didn't join them right off, instead choosing to keep my distance and keep doing as I had but when food began growing scarce, I realized I might benefit from joining their 'ranks'. They had food and warmth during the winter months, as they were skilled thieves and One's tail and ooze gave off heat. Finally, I approached them.
"
And what is your name, again?" One asked me, but I had no response once again. Thinking quickly, I counted how many were with him. Three. I would make four.
"
Call me Four." I croaked out, my voice hoarse from lack of use. I was allowed in, on a trial-stay. My chance to prove myself came sooner than expected.
I was tagging along on a routine 'hunt' as we all search for food. Two, as I never bothered to learn their real names, flew ahead. Her small body and large, leathery wings allowed her to fly quietly and without being noticed easily. I watched as she finally glided to the ground, bounding back toward us.
"
About one click ahead. There's a meat shop." she clicked out, "
Hehe. Shop owner left the window open, just begging us to come and get it." She finished with a grin, so I knew that it was very good news.
"
Mm. Good work, Kaliyah. Hamlin, take the lead. We'll follow you." One ordered, allowing the cloaked figure to move ahead.
Up to this point, I'd never known what power my third eye held other than taking up more of the space on my face. I could barely see out of it anyway. Everything was dark and fuzzy when I closed my smaller eyes. I didn't intend to try and find out. I figured if it were something bad, that so long as it remained dormant that everything would be okay. I didn't plan on finding out tonight.
Everything went according to plan. We got in and were heading out without being noticed. Until my grate glitched. The loud booming sound echoed through the silence and everyone froze, gazes on me. Many were mixed with fear and anger- mostly anger. That's when a door flew open. None of us could understand what the human man was saying, but he was swinging something sharp at us and he sounded angry.
"
Run!" One ordered. No one hesitated to follow him. We leaped out the window and on to the ground, the butcher following us. A couple of more humans joined him in his pursuit of us. We were cornered! One stood in front of us, hissing and trying to intimidate them. It wasn't working.
I closed my eyes tight and began to tremble. I had gotten us all into this mess, it was my fault and we were all going to die because of it. I scrunched my face in terror and self-anger. I believed, at the moment, that I never should have been born. That's when the angry words turned into confused one. I opened my eyes to see the human looking at each other and scratching their melon-like heads.
"
Go! Go! Run!" One hissed, motioning for us to follow him. Nodding, I turned on my heels and chased after him.
The trees were quiet and sheltered. We were all panting and out limbs felt weak. We collapsed beside the remains of our fire. The silence didn't last long enough for me..
"
What happened out there, Four?!" One demanded, brows furrowed at me, "
You could have gotten us all killed! I don't know what happened, but the humans lost sight of us and we managed to escape.."
"
I know.. and I'm sorry.. It's my grate, it just-" I mumbled out, but was cut off.
"
Sorry? Sorry doesn't keep anyone alive! If this going to be how it is with you then..." One growled at me, but I stopped listening at some point. I closed my eye tight, trying not to cry. I didn't like crying, it made me feel weird. It was at that point I could hear shocked noises coming from the others. Gasps and murmurs.
I opened my eyes to look at them, to see what was going on.
"
Four..?" Two murmured, walking toward me, "
Wh-where'd you go..?" She sounded afraid.
"
I haven't gone anywhere.. I'm right here.." I told her, standing. Everyone's eyes stretched wide at me. "
What?" I spat almost demandingly. I hadn't wanted to been seen, but now I was curious. What was going on? Why was everyone looking at me like that? Then things got even more confusing.
"
How did you-" One sputtered in shock.
"
Icarius, it quite possibly could be her third eye power.." Three murmured, padding up to One.
One face fell back to it's usual scowl what what he said. "
You're right, Hamlin. It could be- will be, very useful.."
My ears twitched. I didn't know what was going on. What were they talking about? They were talking too lowly for me to hear the words. I watched as One straightened himself, turning his green gaze on me.
"
Welcome to the group, Four." he meowed at me. I felt mixed emotions flood over me. I finally belonged somewhere.
