General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.
I hope you like your new foal! Sorry on the wait, I got a bit busy after accepting forms. cx

Orphan Rescue Event wrote:The story goes like this;
A human trapper had stolen many chrysaora foals and was selling them in a underground black market. A organization of people stopped him and rescued the foals, and are now trying to adopt them out. Each of the foals needs an experienced owner to love and raise them. We're counting on you, the members of the chry community, to give these babes a second chance at life.

My hands were clenched by my side as I walked on the rocky path to where the countless orphan chrysaora foals were being held. Second births were always fascinating to me and as I hurried along, I recalled lines from the information booklet on chrysaoras."When the eggs are ready to hatch, they crack one at a time and the foal inside breaks through with it's tiny, yet sharp horns. They are born completely white but are able to stand right after hatching. Either one or both of the parents watch over the newborns until they're yearlings " [taken from the front page]. It seemed so sad that most of these foals would have never had the chance to meet their parents with most either just hatched or in the final stages.
A large collection of people had gathered where the foals had been stored and others could be seen leaving with either a long legged foal or a soft looking egg where a forming chrysaora could be seen. Nervous that I may miss out, I quickened my steps and ducked and weaved through the crowd that was gathering near a few stalls. Going on tip-toe I could just make out the foals that were the reason for all the fuss. They were gorgeous with their almost starry tails and paint markings. Twisting my brown eyes to look down the middle of the barn, I couldn't help but feel bad for those that were deemed 'not pretty enough'. Resting my hands behind my back, I strolled slowly down the aisle and peered into every stall where a wide- eyed foal would stare back at me. Towards the end of a row, I heard a sharp, almost avian that seemed to be calling out for attention. A small smile grew on my face as I walked near the sound to see a foal hatching out of its egg with a bit of difficulty. Opening the door and letting swing shut behind me, I gently helped it out of the shell and patted it down with a blanket that was resting over the stall door. All it had to do is look at me with its eyes and I knew this was the one I had to take home. With straw stuck to my jeans and my hair a mess I called over to one of the helpers who after seeing my face as I gently helped the foal upright, quickly brought over documents so little Liora could be mine.

I let the small foal settle into its new home which was made all the easier considering I had a few chrysaoras of my own. I walked into the small paddock and opened the gate slowly, closing it quickly as this newest member of my family liked to make a break for it whenever I opened the gate. Liora lifted up her head high and paced nervously as I edged closer before sitting down on the lush grass. The foal stamped her foot and tilted her head as she looked at me with her lovely eyes that shone with a foal's curiosity. Her blue tail flickered behind her as she lowered her head and inched closer before stopping. I kept my moves slow and played with blades of grass in front of me, letting her take as much time to get used to me. Before long she was only inches away from my face, her soft muzzle blowing hot air into my face. It tickled so I had to laugh, I tried to raise my hand to my face in a poor effort to cover my laugh but it didn't work. Liora took a few hurried step backwards with a shocked look on her face which only made me laugh more.
She recovered quickly and was soon standing in front of me, her head tilted as I present her with smal blade of grass that I had been playing with. The mare sniffed it cautiously and the air from her muzzle blew them away from my open palm. As she looked at my palm, I slowly brought up my hand and went to pat her on the muzzle. Liora shied away from the touch but once she realized it was no threat, she took a step forward to allow me to pat her again. After a few days of a similar routine, Liora was comfortable in my presence and seemed to enjoy getting petted..

Growing used to my presence, Liora would run up to the gate whenever I walked by and I couldn't help but stop and pat the growing chry. She would make a deep rumbling sound as if I was a part of her herd and I would pat her on forehead before moving off to finish my chores. As I made my way back, I held a small apple in my hand to see if I could get the energetic mare to feed from my hand. Liora allowed me to pat her but she had yet to let me feed her from my hand. As soon as I would hold out a sugar cube she would simply sniff it and move on which dampened my spirits slightly every-time I tried and failed. I tried everything but an apple, so I hoped she would like the treat. She was certainly a fussy creature as my other Chrysaoras would bicker between themselves whenever I walked up to the paddock fence with a carrot or apple. As I walked up to the dark wooden fence I called out to the mare that was drinking from a small brook that cut through the paddock. "Liora, come here dear" I said in a loud voice as I opened and closed the gate.
The mare hurried over, her iridescent mane and tail swaying with the movement of her body as she galloped towards me. "Whoa, whoa" I said in a breathless voice and raised my hands just as the mare comes to a halt in front of me, kicking up dirt as she stopped. The creature gently tapped her muzzle against my hand, wanting a pat which I happily obliged. As I patted her soft coat, I brought the apple to rest in front of her muzzle and soft softly "Come on Liora. You like apples, I know you do so come on". Lifting her head, she looked at the apple and then at me, almost questioning. Her muzzle inched closer to the shiny apple and I subconsciously held my breath as her neck lengthened towards the treat. Her velvet muzzle brushed against my skin as she took the apple and I swear I could almost jump for joy. "Good girl" I said with a huge smile on my face as patted her her. Liora didn't seem to care or notice this achievement as the fussy creature was pocking her muzzle into my jumper pockets to see if I had any more. "Greedy thing". Gently shoving her muzzle I backed up to the gate and simply climbed over it, not risking another escape from the young mare. Shoving my hands in my pockets I quickly made my way to the barn find someone that I could tell about my new achievement.

My gorgeous foal had matured quite a lot over the few weeks she had stayed with me and I was quite pleased at the progress. She would come up to the gate when I came to groom or feed her and enjoyed her playtime with me. It was time however for her to meet the rest of the herd or 'Bloom' as they are more correctly called. The leader of the small bloom was Lothario, a lovely dark paint stallion who seemed to be very curious of the new comer even with a paddock dividing them. I would have loved to place her with the group straight away but with her being quite young and knowing that Chrysaoras can be rather aggressive, I decided to wait until she was a little older and would feel safe around me. "Liora" I called as I walked over to the dark wooden fence, a simple plain leather halter in my hand in order to have control of my mischievous mare. Trotting over, she dug her muzzle into my pockets looking for nonexistent treats which allowed me to get the halter on quickly as I pulled her head out of my pocket. The mare took a few steps back as I had only placed her halter on a few times but she quickly adapted and soon was tugging on the lead rope to go for a wander. "This way" I said with a chuckle and opened the pasture gate which Liora quickly trotted through, her tail swaying behind her as she waited for me to close the gate. Clicking my tongue, I lead her to the other larger pasture that was located on a hill and covered in trees that cast huge shadows in the grassy landscape. It took a but longer than usual to walk there as Liora wished to stop and smell everything, but finally we arrived.
I spied the herd members grazing in the distance and called out to them so they wouldn't just find some new member in their pasture without warning. I opened the gate and lead the young mare through it as the sound of thundering hooves grew louder, the Chrysaoras curious of the new member. I took off her halter to make sure that she didn't catch it on anything as she interacted with the older Chrysaoras and stood back. One of the mares had a foal of her own and was loitering towards the back of the group but the other stallions were more brave. They lowered their heads and sniffed Liora who was standing still but suddenly skittered backwards towards me. "Be nice lads" I said and both stallions looked at me and walked over with relaxed postures thinking I had something for them. This better than what I thought was going to happen I thought to myself as none of them were showing signs of aggression. Suddenly out of the treeline Lothario appeared, his dark coat shining in the morning light and made his way over to me before taking a second glance at the young mare. Lowering his nose to be in line with hers, they both sniffed softly before the lead stallion tapped his muzzle against hers and quickly turned to begin trotting in a small circle. Liora made a soft rumbling noise before swiftly following him and joined his game. I quickly checked on the new mother before walking out of the pasture leaving the herd to meet the new herd member who seemed quite content with her new friends.
