sad story ;
Before a certain event in Mors' life, they were happy, although this happiness didn't last long.
At the remembrance of the event, Mors would cast their red tinted gaze to the ground and stare blankly in an attempt to remove the memory from their mind.
While most Xholi found one they cared for dearly, Mors had not. Not another Xholi who had seemed to like her back, anyhow. Not the one they wanted. The day came when this certain someone did state their feelings toward them; it made Mors overjoyed, a smile creeping across their maw. They were happy, having that certain Xholi in their life.
As dusk neared, the pair got permission to hunt. They hadn't told anyone of their newfound feelings, and chose to keep it to themselves until they were ready.
A half an hour into hunting, they made their way back, successfully having caught a few small piece of prey for their pack. The sound of thunder had started up mere minutes before they decided to head back, and then the lightning started.
A terrifying crackle erupted through the wooded area, the two Xholi looking at each other. They regretfully hadn't noticed the large branch that had started to descend upon them. At the last moment, Mors very special friend noticed, managing to move them from the falling debris moments before it would have crushed Mors instead of them. Since that exact second their life faded away, Mors blamed themself for the event.
The dark-hued Xholi shuffled through the day, the memory drifting through their mind until the time came when they were able to rest their head.
