Overview and History

The origin of this particular species is unknown. It is guess that it was the iqena who sparked the mythos of unicorns, pegasus, kirin, and hundreds more that have become legend. Thousands of years of speculation and wonder have led to the constant search of this elusive species.

Iqena are commonly friendly towards any creature of any world. Their peaceful souls only adding to the mystery of their vast variations. Even the youngest of iqena are clueless to their biological origin. Some say that they are born from the mind, much like the goddess Athena.

Leptós lives deep within the old growth forest located in Cooks Forest Pennsylvania. The hikers are always a bit confused to see her and her foreign little friend hanging out among the undergrowth, but the rangers take her presence as a sign that she is the one caring for the forest.

Leptós's little companion is Bisque, a little European Robin who was imported over to the United States over one hundred years ago as a pet. He managed to escape from his previous owners, and was found by the shy Iqena female and literally taken under her wing.
He appears to be soulbonded to Le after all those years, and now has a little blue crown as an indicator of his semi-immortal status.
He wheedled Le into giving him a bow so that they would match. (He doesn't care that the color clashes with his plumage)

Name: Illyanna, pronounced ill-e-on-uh, she goes by ills or illy

Domain: the continental shelves of America near the Pacific Ocean, she is usually found by the beach.

Companion: A thresher shark

illy is the definition of childish, she masks her real emotions and feelings with a persona she created. Growing up in the real world, she was always very delicate. She wore her heart on her sleeve, often causing her to be pushed around. Her trusting nature made is so she was often used, and her naive tendencies made it so she never even realized what was happening. illy only saw the good in people, even when they were so obviously evil. Upon her death, when she passed on into the Iqena world, her body became cracked and broken. From years of abuse in the living world. Thus, upon her transformation, she changed everything she could. She pretends to be dumb, to be a cutesy girl with no clue as to what's going on around her. To those who do not know her well, it's oblivious that it's all an act. However, during one of her many trips to the beach she met a Thresher shark. He went to attack, but seeing her child like personality he stopped.

The two seemed to click, and she would come back every day to talk to him. Eventually, she let go of her baby ways and let him see who she really was. A elegant, intelligent, but frightened girl with enough dreams to drown in. Seeing her like this gave the shark the instinct to protect her, to keep her from harm. After a few days of constant talking, the two finally revealed who they were. She told him of how she passed, and her actual name and not the childish nickname she gave him. He told her his, Montgomery, a classy shark from a well known family. She could only picture him with a mono cull and a top hat hearing that name, and decided despite his protests to call him Mon Mon or Monty.

Whenever came to close to Illyana, she would put up her persona. Even now she couldn't tell when someone had bad intentions, thankfully Monty could. He would snap immediately, threatening the person until they scampered off in fear of the shark. illy would pretend to be hurt he scared off a potential friend, but she knew he had the best intentions. He was a best friend, a father figure, a brother figure, everything illy didn't have in her previous life. She settled on calling him her personal guardian angel, or shark, whichever he preferred.

Upon learning of Illyana's backstory, Montgomery probably looked like this.

Extra 1: She is a quiet and sombre Iqena who is stated inside of a museum. Pretends to be a statue during the daytime when people come by to take photos and stare at her porcelain body. The flashes of cameras hurt her eyes but she has trained herself to keep her eyes from flinching when there is a flash. Her companion Antoinette however is placed in a glass case beside her. At night when the museum closes up Adage likes to come off her pedestal and do ballet. Her whole life she has loved to dance, Antoinette is a wind up marionette and joins in dancing with Adage as well.
