Tall, lean frame, round ears, and bright eyes, Xholis are diurnal, hierarchal, and intelligent species that wield the forces of nature. Xholis are social animals that can be recognized into 2 different clans. The ones that hunt at dusk, and those that hunt at dawn. Their pelt reflects their environment as the Dusk hunters tend to have darker palette while the Dawn hunters are significantly lighter. Between those two clans, the species are once again split into more diverse and specialized packs. Fire, Earth and Water are the most common forces of nature that each Xholi wields. The gem they are born with determines their attribute, which is effected by the parent's gems. Every Xholi is given a role befitting their status in the pack, and the leader of the each pack is expected to keep the peace.

Story:Wolves are not like Xholi, though we share similar traits. Wolves are far more brutal with their customs, they have no powers and no rules like my pack does. We consider them to be lesser beings, annoyances at worst as few of them would take us on in a fight.
And right now, they were my only hope.
A pup had been born in the pack tonight, a pup unlike any others. It didn't belong with any of the tribes. Rather then being a proper Dunia, it had a silver stone. There had been unrest just as I returned from my shift.
I knew the rules, I had been told them a thousand times. None of it makes it any easier to watch the ashamed parents leave the healer's den. I knew what I was supposed to do.
It wasn't what I did. With my head raised, I trotted across the camp to the healer's den. There I saw two little pups on the floor, one normal, one with a silver gem behind it's ear. The healer looked up at me, clearly unhappy about this turn of events. They looked up at me as I entered, waiting for me to state my purpose.
My throat was tight with my lie, but I told it anyways.
"I'll be heading out on patrol to the furthest border soon. If you would like, I could take the pup there. It would save the trouble of having the parents carry them out and risk them trying to hide it."
They looked at me, I thought they would find my lie, that I would be punished. But my friend must have been rubbing off on me, my lie worked. I was given a nod and tired eyes in return and without any further words between the two of us, I grabbed the pup by it's scruff and off I went.
As I left the clearing, I saw the heartbreak in my friend's eyes. He was weak when it came to pups. But I suppose I was hardly one to talk.
Away my paws flew against the dirt. I knew where I was going, but despite my speed I wasn't eager to get there.
I found myself at the border, and it was there I found what I was looking for. What I had yet to report.
My luck was good that night, there was only two wolves on a patrol against the border. When I arrived they looked up at me with hostile gazes. I set the pup down at my feet, doing my best to hide my accent I as spoke to them.
"I have a propose for you. You take this pup into your pack, you care for them and raise them as an equal."
With lowered ears and almost snarls on their faces, the dominant of the two steps forward and growled out.
"Why?"
"They'll be a boast to your pack, strength in their powers."
"Not good enough."
They were moving closer, snarling as they went.
I let out a sigh, dipping my head in defeat and asked
"What do you want?"
They considered me for a moment. Looking me up and down. Finally they spoke again.
"One month. We know we can't fight your kind, but we need time to move. You tell a lie to your pack, that we were more numerous then your pack could easily fight. That we're already on the move and that you think we'll be gone by then. If we don't see any of your kind around while we move, the pup will be safe with us. Agreed?"
I didn't want to take the offer, I didn't want to lie to my pack, to give up the extra food this territory would give us. But I needed this pup to live.
So I took the chance. I pushed the pup towards them, the little thing clearly upset to be leaving me. Raising my head, I looked them in the eye and spoke.
"Yes."
