Username: LyrebirdName: OrionDesign: The constellations; specifically that of Orion's belt.Imagine the night sky; full of stars and planets that shine like miniature suns. Among these stars are patterns, constellations, with stories and legends surrounding them. Just like there are countless stars, there are hundreds of constellations, of myths, spanning many different beliefs and regions of the world. One constellation, Orion's belt, sits among it's many brethren. Orion's story starts with is father, a man by the name of Hyrieus. Hyrieus was poor farmer, but a humble man and once, the Greek gods Zeus, Hermes, and Poseidon, came to visit him. He offered the only thing in his possession; a single ox. Of course, the man wasn't aware his guests were gods, but his generosity moved the trio and they offered him a wish. His wish? To have a child. The Gods told him to bury the hide of the ox, and he did. In nine months a baby was born from the Earth and named Orion. Orion became a marvelous hunter, handsome and strong and revered for his skill with the bow. He was such a good hunter that he was hired by the king Oenopion to kill the ferocious beasts that were terrifying the inhabitants of the island Chios. Happy for his success, Orion said he would kill all the wild animals on the earth. But, the earth goddess, Gaia, who was the mother of all animals, was not pleased with Orion's intention. Then, Gaia set an enormous scorpion on Orion. Orion soon realized that his strength and sword were useless against that mighty beast. He tried to escape, but the scorpion stung him to death. As a reward, Gaia placed the scorpion in the sky as a constellation which appears to be constantly chasing after Orion, whose figure was also placed among the stars.
Imagine that, but on the body of a chrysaora. A beast of legends, made of myths, with a story written in stars across it's glimmering coat.
