Raven has always been one to challenge the gender stereotypes of the community that he grew up a part of. His mother and father, their names Blackbird and Hawk respectively, were completely and utterly absorbed with moulding their son Raven into a true 'man', teaching him to tread on the emotions of others and completely ignore his own. The negative ways of life that were being forced upon him, however, had little to no effect at all on the young Jemi. His nickname, used by close friends and bullies alike, is a play on the word 'Rainbow'; mixing his name with the word creating 'Ravenbow'.
Despite his parents' nigh stereotypical attitudes to how they believed their son should live his life, Raven never stopped trying to help others, and he says he never will stop. He's made several close friends, and is particularly close to a certain other deer-like Jemi.
