What are Belldandy's?
Belldandys, also known as Belldees for short, are a fluffy little pixie horse the size of a small rodent. The Belldee will fly from house to house, normally through a window, visiting little children and infants before they fall asleep. Their bells hold a certain pixie dust that brings the little ones good fortune and sweet dreams. Belldandy's eyes are always closed, giving them a calm, pleasant expression upon their faces. They can come in an assortment of colors, any colors you could possibly imagine. Though Belldee's can fly, it is less common for them to have wings; their magical aura is what helps most to fly. Belldandys eat flower petals and leaves for the most part, anything else they eat would consist of an assortment of berries or grasses. One thing they love especially, but is so rare for them to come across is tea. They are obsessed with it and will stop dead in their tracks if they see a cup of it sitting on a table or stand. Lots of people leave tea out at night to try and spot the fluffy pixies.

Why does he/she cry a lot?:

Every time this little Dee looks up at the stars as she does from house to house to spread dreams of hope and joy to the boys and girls she cant help but cry. Every time she sees a start she cant help but wonder what wish some little boy or girl made and if it will ever come true. She tends to tear up at the thought that not all those wishes will ever come true. She wishes she could make wishes come to life but she does the best she can with the dreams she gives instead. The Idea of a wishing star holding the hopes and beliefs of a young child is magical to her and she cant help but be other whelmed when she catches a child up late just to make a wish on their wishing star.

Coincidentally, the Chinese deity that governs the red string is named Yue Xia Lao.

Why does he/she cry a lot?:
Yue cries because all her life, the thing she wanted most was a child of her own. Unfortunately, she learned that she was sterile and it nearly broke her heart. Every time she sees a young dee or a pregnant mother dee she is reduced to tears. Shortly after learning of her misfortune, she replaced the rope holding her bells with red string, a nod toward the red string of fate and how Yue believes she will never find her true love due to her sterility.

Why does she cry a lot?:
This little lady has lost her only happiness- she made a deal with a witch; she would give her favorite necklace(given to her by her late mother) to the witch in exchange for a day as a human. The catch? If she couldn't manage to find a special seashell in this day, she would have to give up all of her happiness. If she did find the seashell, she'd remain a human forever. As it was, this was reality, not a Disney movie. She didn't find the seashell, and was turned back into a Belldee. Along with that, of course, the witch took away all of her happiness. The happiness was stored in a wilting flower- it had represented the witch. Once the happiness was stored in this flower, the witch was happy again, though Egan certainly wasn't. She remained sad throughout the rest of her life, crying very often.
