Convince them!;i sit, silently looking for a plumerian to call out to me. while some loud designs cry for my attention, a box as silent and unmoving as i am stays a distance away. i cross to it, and gentle pink eyes peer out, shy, fearful. i sit, looking at this box and wondering what lie beneath it. "hey, sweetheart." however, the eyes disappear. those pretty eyes had been enough to capture my heart, and now i wanted to know the face and body to match, or did i? "hey, please don't hide. won't you show me your pretty eyes again?" i realized that i had no clue if the plumerian understood me. but those eyes appeared again, and how i loved seeing them capture the light. "you know, you're too pretty to hide in a box." but she was introverted, and did not seek to leave her refuge. i sighed to myself gently. “you and i, we are the same. i am scared of people too. please, let me be your friend. But i don’t want to talk to a box forever.” but those pretty eyes disappeared. “here. we don’t need to get rid of the box right away. we can take it off when you’re comfortable with me. i’ll start.” with that, i launched into a quiet life’s story of how i, too, was introverted and scared. how i was bullied in middle school and almost made horrible decisions. i told her everything, and I spoke so only she could hear. suddenly, i felt weight in my lap. the young plumerian had crawled into my lap and was looking up at me silently, tears rolling down my cheeks. i didn’t notice her box was gone, all I could see was her gentle, caring nature. something nobody else had seen.
