All my life, I have not only loved, but felt a strange sense of serenity when I was lucky enough to watch deep sea creatures in their natural habitat, one of my favorite of these creatures is the hideous, yet strangely hypnotizing Angler fish (The fish that this species is loosely based off of.) Amanda is a country girl through and through, raised on classic westerns and bouncing around from farm to farm near the coast. She is rough and tough, and not afraid to scrap with people or other Sea Devils that provoke her. Generally she is kind, though due to her affinity to rough house and sling mud, she doesn't have many girl friends that can stand her company for more than a few hours at a time. She always has dirt under her claws and generally has a guy with her, not because she has a crush on him, or because he has a crush on her, but simply because guys are the only ones who can put up with her rough and tumble fights and love the trouble she tends to provoke. Amanda is not at all your typical girl, as I'm sure you've noticed by now, she is not flirty, nor does she care all that much about her appearance and can usually be seen with mud matted in her fur. Amanda is generally sweet, with her mean streak, but she has one of the shortest tempers you will ever come across. One word from you can be the difference between a playful nip out of annoyance, and an all out fight that both she and "the other guy" come out of looking like they had single-handedly fought of an invasion. She has even been known to have break a leg or two and once almost scratched an eye out with her hind leg, leaving her provoker permanently blinded in that eye. Despite all this though, she is loved by many and welcome on all coastal farms as she generally leaves them in better condition than they were in before. Despite all this though, Amanda does have a feminine side that she prefers not to show as she feels it would ruin her reputation. Her room is generally quite tomboyish, except for the purple elephant and flowery blanket which she keeps under her bed and takes out each night before she goes to bed to sleep with. She also has a veritable plethora of dainty and lacy cloths and dresses, but keeps those hidden in a box in her closet, waiting for an opportunity to wear them to an extravagant place where they would not only be appropriate, but necessary. Despite her families roots in the north, Amanda hates cold and winter and has left her home behind to come live in the warmer climate of the south.

Ever since Amanda could remember, she always had had a rocky relationship with her family members. Her rough ways and short temper led to many arguments and sometimes even physical fights with various family members. The only thing that would keep Amanda home was her father, the only person in the family that she felt like understood her in some way and actually saw the good in her. At the age of 13, though, her father passed away and left Amanda alone in her family, it took a deep toll on her, and the fights soon increased in intensity and frequency. One night, only a few months after her father's death, one fight was so intense that she resolved to her mother that she would leave due to her inability to get along with her family. Her mother simply scoffed at her and left Amanda to sulk. This hurt Amanda deeply and she carried out with her promise, sneaking out that night and leaving a harsh letter to her mother explaining the reason that she left and that maybe she'll be sorry now.
As far as Amanda knew, no search was issued to find her so she went on her way, never to return to her family's house again.
