The Nene is Leilani's favorite bird for several different reasons, including the way they
look and where they live. Nene are native to Hawaii, where Leilani grew up. These gorgeous
birds remind her of home and family and always put a smile on her face. The second largest
reason Leilani loves Nene is because they remind her of herself. From their brown and white
coloring to there silly personalities.

Just like her name, she loves anything that can move fast. This also applies to birds and the peregrine can fly very fast - up to 380km/h while diving and 110km/h when flying horizontally. She would love to race with one if she had wings. However since she doesn't, she can only imagine what the race would be like - probably something along the lines of fantastic and heart-racing.

notori finds them not as simply pigeons, but beautiful distinct creatures with wings of freedom that she can only wish for. as the closest living relative of the now extinct dodo and the living member of the genus Caloenas, the nicobar pigeon only sparks her interest more into these unique birds as well as their vibrant colors.
