Keakota #12

Postby eleutheromania » Fri Dec 05, 2014 12:09 pm

Another Christmas Keakota, more items, she has herself a nice Harness. Plus is has the very rare reverse spotting in appaloosa form. Art for this girl is optional but it will not improve your chances of winning if you do it.

First Encounter with Snow/or Person: Rarely do we get visitors to the island. Keramarin was perfect for my kind, but not many others it seemed. True, I had seen many insects, some deer, and a predatory animal or two, but nothing much out of the way of natural or expected. So you can imagine my surprise and utter shock when a new kind of animal appeared one day. They came by way of a floating vessel, large enough to hold the five of them. From my viewpoint behind the brush, I could make out two adults and three pups, all of them wide-eyed and seemingly excited. They pulled the boat around to a cove which I had never explored before. It held a small cabin-like home, which I could only assume was for these new animals. Once their vessel was safely docked, the pups instantly ran for the cabin. They reminded me of my specie’s young, racing for no apparent reason. That’s when one of them spotted my bright red eyes and proceeded to point me out and shout words which sound like “Horsy!” I took that as my cue and ran, though no matter how far I got, something kept pulling me back to that cabin.

I waited ‘till nightfall to return, quietly creeping up behind the cabin. As soon as it came into view, my eyes were blasted with a mirage of colors. Artificial lights hung from the roof of the cabin, along with a few bright figures which appeared to resemble deer, and a red figure that seemed to be shaped like the new animals, but a bit bigger in the stomach and with white hairs upon his face. The scene before me only drove me further in my exploration. I slowly crept from the brush, my ears perked and rotating about my head. Once I deemed it safe, I walked up to the lit figures. I bumped them with my nose several times, gaining no response whatsoever. Giving a frustrated snort, I began to sniff around the place. I had gotten so involved in my sniffing that I did not notice the door to the cabin crack open ever so slightly. Though I did hear the three tiny gasps. My head whipped around to see the three pups staring at me. None of them moved, all of the appalled by my appearance. Then the tiniest pup emerged, slowly walking up to my with her hand outstretched. Being approached by such a tiny thing did not scare me, so I stood still as she walked up to me and touched my shoulder. Her eyes lit up brighter than the lighting on the cabin, and she had her teeth bared in a odd, kind way.

“Horsy!”

Wild or Tamed?: Tamed by an elf, which is why she wears a harness. She pulls the toy-supplies around for the elves while they are working.
First Encounter with Snow/or Person (Max of 500 words): It was a beautiful morning, the crisp, cold air making my nose blow little clouds. I went out of my den to find some food and water, the sound of the snow crunching under my paws echoing through the snowy, white evergreen forest. As I walked, I heard a sound from above me. I looked up to see what it was, but nothing was there. Probably just the weight of the snow breaking a branch, I thought and continued to walk. Finally, I found the green sheltered clearing where I could get my food and water during the winter. I always found it odd that it was there, like something had put it there for me right after my mother died. And what was weirder was the fact that it felt like summer inside. When you walked through the tall trees, you would feel like sweating, and the ground was covered in soft, delicious grass all year round. I ate my fill, and then went outside to get a drink. I walked over to the cold, not-yet-frozen river and drank. The icy taste made my taste buds tingle with joy. When I lifted my head and turned around, all the joy disappeared. There was a little two-legged beast wearing a red shirt and shorts and striped leggings standing in front of me. And the worst part, was that it was holding a rope. It cautiously walked up to me whispering gently in a language I didn’t understand. It reached out a long-fingered paw at me very slowly. I snorted, and scraped the ground with my paw. Then I realized it was holding something. The “something” looked like his leggings, striped, only it was curved at the top into a hook. I reached my head out to observe it better and to sniff it. It smelled crisp and cold like the air, and when I touched it with my tongue, it tasted icy like the water I just drank. I grabbed it in my teeth from the little beast and chewed on it. It was delicious. I swallowed and looked back at the beast. The beast showed it’s teeth and waved it’s long-fingered paw in the air. I growled at it, and then turned to run. Just when I was about to begin to run, the rope swung around my neck. I fought it, long and hard until I was exhausted. The little beast then dragged me along behind it, taking me to a place I never would have dreamed of. The North Pole. There were hundreds of little beasts surrounding it when we got there, maybe a thousand. But when the little beast holding me barked, they all froze and made room for me to walk past. We walked into a peculiar den, with yellow grass lining the floor. Then they locked me in. I was trapped forever.

Wild or Tamed?: tamed by a girl in a singing choir.
First Encounter with Snow/or Person (Max of 500 words): the spruce trees bended slowly in the snowy wind, making me quite jumpy. i wasn't so comfortable with so much going on, animals running around in the snow, trees waving and shaking. i pranced unsteadily through the white snow, the powdery stuff flying around me in clouds. i kept on the speed, my hunger ripping at my insides like a wild animal trying to escape a cage. to tell the truth, i hadn't eaten in few days, or atleast a full meal. everything was covered in snow, or already eaten. i came to a halt under a spruce tree, and dug around the base getting the snow away. i kneeled down on my front legs and ate at the grass under the protection of the tree. a rustle behind me shot me up onto my paws, and turned in a split second squaring myself in front of the creature. it stood two legs, small figure and it had long toes on it's paws, and in the clutch of it's paws there was a bucket of carrots. the animal took a carrot out quickly and tossed it in my direction. i jumped back with a low growl, but forced myself to relax a little. i swiveled my ears fully forward and took a step towards the animal, which from what i had heard, was called a 'human'. this human kept throwing me carrots and leading me through the forest into a corral. the human gave me the rest of the carrots in the bucket and then disappeared before coming back with a halter. i refused to let the human near me, but she insisted and soon had slipped the halter over my head. and from then on, she gained my trust and taught me to pull a sled, with other humans while they sang.

First Encounter with Snow/or Person (Max of 500 words):
Cocoa stood, her feet firmly planted in the lush grass of the small hill near her home. Cocoa's gaze was glued to the northern horizon, for there, scarcely visible, was a two legged creature slowly approaching her. Cocoa had never seen anything like it! It walked about on two legs and clutched a weird stick in its paw. But weirdest of all, it was making strange noises that sounded like the wild boars that frequented the land. Confused and awe stricken, Cocoa watched it until it was within several yards of her. As it grew nearer and nearer, Cocoa was neither scared nor bold; this thing reminded her of the beasts her mother had told tales of. At first, Cocoa though it had brought the stick to harm her. Now it seemed as though the object was meant to support the weight of the thing. She lowered her large head and sniffed at the creature; it smelled sweetly of cinnamon, a rare scent she'd only smelled a few times. The creature raised its head and fixed her with a piercing blue gaze. It slowly opened its hand and stretched its arm out towards her. There was a peculiar object sitting there that smelled sweet. Cautiously, the beast took the treat. This was certainly a human, and it obviously meant her no harm.
