fact: In 1971 Psychologist Philip Zimbardo held an experiment called the Stanford Prison Experiment. 24 undergraduates were selected and tested to make sure they were all mentally stable. The students were split into two groups; prisoners and guards. A fake prison was put in the basement of Stanford. The experiment was to last for two weeks only lasted for a total of 6 days. The experiment was done to prove that when put in the environment everyone is capable of evil.
(documentary is put on youtube and it is very interesting to watch. We watched it in my scoiology class so I suggest watching if you haven't seen anything on it.)
