The monstrosity acted as if it were to swallow Alden, though as soon as it had him quaking in his boots, it stopped, laughing to itself heartily as it slunk back into it's corner. "You didn't think I'd eat you, did you?" The monster chuckled. "I am Troll, and you I presume, have come in search of goodies?"

Without another word, Troll nudged over a small group of four candies before Blake nudged Alden. "It's best not to linger," Blake had said before practically dragging Alden back to the front, escorting him out the towering mansion doors and back into the streets alight with fireflies. "Safe travels." Blake smiled faintly as the doors gradually closed, sealing off the mansion as suddenly as they'd opened, leaving Alden to wonder whether he'd been inside at all. The memory itself quickly became a haze, and he would've forgotten altogether if it hadn't been for the small huddle of candy sitting neatly in his sack.
