Watch this space for further development C:

About the author wrote:
Dr. E Mills is a zoologist and has a love for animals that started ever since she walked under the legs of a giraffe in Africa while her parents looked after sick cheetahs. Since then, she has never missed the opportunity to glimpse and study wild creatures in their natural habitats.

I first glimpsed the creature in the forest. It was twilight, so I almost missed him as I sat in my tree. He walked out of the bushes, and I was startled to see that he was not such creature that I had ever seen (and believe me, I have seen the strangest creatures to ever walk the earth). He had the head of a bird, with a long neck and four paws on which it walked like a dog. Rather that a feathery tail, there was two dog tails surrounded by a plume of fiery feathers. What was even more curious was four stones that seemed to float around this creature’s neck. Each pulsed with a strange light that seemed to emanate from the middle of the stone.
Whenever this creature went, any animal that it passed seemed to bow its head to this fascinating creature. I could feel the greatness of this creature from my tree.
I pulled out my sketchbook at once and began to draw this creature for which I had no name. He reminded me of what us humans think a phoenix looks like.
I watched for an hour or so, and he didn’t seem to see me, though I think he might’ve turned his head slightly in my direction.

Image

I returned to the forest at the same time the next day to try and see the creature again.
He appeared from the same spot he had the day before, and walked away to a place I didn’t know. I wondered if I should follow him, but decided against it. With wild animals, you must be careful when approaching. So, I watched and waited for return, but it was getting dark and I needed to get home. Tomorrow, I will return.

Image

It has been three days since I have written, and for those three days, I have watched and waited for the creature, only to see him leave his home and return again. It was getting dark, so I decided to leave. I scrambled down from my tree and turned to fix my backpack, which had slipped off my shoulder. ---

The creature turned its graceful head and looked straight into my soul.
‘Hello, stranger,’ he said. His voice sounded like mountains moving and valleys forming. I could feel his power, and it made me feel like something special.
The creature told me he was a ‘parra’, an aviary quadrupedal species that originated from tropical areas.
It struck me that we have no knowledge of such creatures. It made me realise that there are probably other creatures that we have no idea about. Us humans think we own the earth, but really we don't know anything at all.

Image

As I got to know him, I realised that he was lonely. He had walked this Earth for many decades, and he was the only creature of his kind. He was was a very noble creature, very kind and loving of anything and everything. He also reminded of fictional characters such as the great lion, Aslan and Dumbledore from Harry Potter.
Igneous was very wise and very calm in the face of danger.

When I asked his name, he replied ‘I have many names but if you must require one, you may call me Igneous.’
Igneous was very respectful of everything and always found the best in everyone. As we became more comfortable with each other, Igneous would come and sit beside me while I sketched him and he told me many stories.
One, in which I must share with you. How he came about.

'When the Universe came to, and all the elements were created, each made a creature. Fire made the dragons and salamaders, while Air made the birds and genies, and Water made the whales and fish. All the creatures that we know of and have today were sent out into the world. The elements were finishing up when the elements of air and fire argued about who should create the next creature. Air made a angel, and told Fire that she should make the last creature. Fire made a Demon and said he should make the last creature. Earth and Water couldn't decide who should make the last creature. The universe told the elements to make the last creature together. Reluctantly, Air made a creature with the face and wings of a bird and Fire gave the creature fiery powers. Earth looked at the new creature and gave him legs. Thus, the Parras were made.'

I was fascinated by this wondrous story.

I hope you enjoyed this!
Yours Truly,

I decided to try something different for this form.
To me, Igneous wasn't a Parra that liked pizzas and skirts and trampolines. 'Dr E. Mills' is a character of mine that has my love of animals and the outdoors. She and I had a lot of fun creating this form, and I hope you get to enjoy it too!
All this work is by me C;

Any plans for halloween?:
Cheshire's plans: I'm doing a broken porcelain doll this year! I'm really excited!
Mora's plans: Probably stay indoors and hand out candy when I'm feeling like it. After about 9:30,
I'll come back in and read a book in front of the fireplace.

Haiku:
I loved him like fire
But no attention was payed
To my broken heart

Likes: Chocolate, warm summer nights, fireplaces, the stars, lighting bugs,
reading, classical and rock music, swimming,
nighttime

Dislikes: When people sneak up behind her, loud noises, being alone,
small spaces, cheeseburgers, cats,
getting angry

And a little history:
Mora is a very kind and loving Parrapup. She loves to read and sleep. Mora has trust issues but tries to be nice to everyone she encounters.
Her all time favorite thing to do is go out on a warm summer night and catch fireflies.
She loves her family very much and has always been a daddy's girl. She has an older brother and younger sister and they get along pretty well except for the occasional sibling fight. She extremely dislikes it when her brother calls her Polar Bear because he has always made fun of her by saying she has polar bear legs. Her mom says she loves that about her and that's what makes her so cute so it doesn't bother her as much now.
She always tries very hard not to get angry at anyone because that's when her wings come out and she looses control. She can't think and she definitely isn't herself. She hates scaring anyone so she always tries to suppress that part of her.
She grew up in a wonderful community of wild Parrapups when she was younger but decided to try and find a human to hang out with when she got old enough. Since then she has been on a very long adventure to find the perfect human.
Finally, after many moons of searching, she has found the right one.

Backstory on the Stones:
She hasn't always had the burden of carrying Firestones. When she was born, she had the special gift of reading auras. She could always tell when her parents were stressed in hard times or joyous in good. Her parents worried about her though because they didn't want anyone to find out and take her away.
One day when she was still young, she slipped out of the house while her mother was cooking dinner. She decided to go down to the river and play around for a bit. When she got there though, there was a beautiful young woman laying by the water. Mora decided to sneak closer to investigate and when she got close enough to see, she realized the woman was fatally wounded. She gasped softly and hesitantly walked closer. The woman turned her head towards her and smiled gently, "I have been waiting for you."
Mora was confused but stepped out of the tree line and towards the river.
"Do not be afraid, child," the woman said, her voice smooth as silk, "Nothing will harm you."
Mora padded up to the woman and looked at her hesitantly, flinching from the pain and sorrow in the woman's aura.
"I am Nisha and I have been searching for you for a very long time. You are the chosen one, my child," Nisha smiled sadly and gave a slight cough, "Listen close for I only have a short while on this earth."
Mora nodded and sat to listen obediently but the feeling that something was wrong was still gnawing at her stomach.
"You have been chosen to keep 4 of the remaining 8 Firestones. There are two others like you. It is a great burden to carry but it will be easier for you since you were chosen."
Mora nodded hesitantly and the woman coughed, grabbing Mora's front leg gently. The woman grinned and Mora flinched slightly, sudden unease flooding her. Flames of heat licked up her leg from where the woman was touching her and she whimpered softly, frozen in place.
"And now that I have you, child, I shall pass this curse on to you. Use it wisely and you will remain in control, abuse your power and they will control you," Mora felt a sharp pain tear through her back and heard the woman laugh evilly before passing out.
When Mora woke up, only a pool of blood and ash was left of the woman. She shivered and stood to look at her reflection in the eerily calm stream. She gasped when she saw flames atop her head like a crown and four small stones floating above her back. Just like the woman had said, Mora was now the keeper of the last remaining Firestones.

Name: Strix

Meaning behind name: Rukh is a mythological bird of prey--Strix, in the Ancient Roman and Greek legends was a bird of ill omen, product of metamorphosis(transformation), that fed on human flesh and blood. The name, in Greek, means "owl". They are birds with a long golden beak that they use to suck the blood of infants, their favorite victim. They also have wings, usually red, and four black legs, all with clawed feet. Their eyes are yellow and round, without pupils.
Strix's are also my favourite mythological bird which is tied with the Phoenix, Roc and Griffin.

Gender: This Parrapup happened to be born not male nor female! So Strix is usually called 'he' or 'she' but never 'it' out of respect to the bird. ( So I will be switching between 'he' and 'she' while I write X3 )

Song: WARNING! Get your tissues ready T0T This song is to sad!

Personalty: Strix usually avoids strangers and rarely even gives people a glance. She constantly pushes people away out of fear that they will see the true her. Because underneath all her harsh comments and mean body language...Strix just wants to cry.
This bird had suffered many things in her life, like the death of the child she was so close to (explained in 'worst memory'). This bird just needed an owner who would make Strix happy and not a sad, alone bird. But now she is only really happy when she is snuggled in a blanket next to Fire, chewing on a red bouncy ball.
( If I heard this backstory I would probably say 'I'm adopting this bird right now like it or not! And then cuddle that buurrd X3 )
( Also you might find the red bouncy ball a bit sad when you read 'Worst Memory' )

Likes: Strix loves his red bouncy ball which you might suspect to bring back bad memories but only brings back the good memories he had with that girl. He also adores his little red blanket that Fire cuddles him up in. And he adores nectarines, there is nothing this bird won't do for nectarines. And of course, he loves Fire, the person who stuck next to Strix and helped him heal his wounds.

Dislikes: Baths, showers, water, in fact, anything that involves water Strix can't stand. No one exactly knows why and it makes Fire's job really difficult when Strix keeps flying up the chimney and coming back down completely black with soot. He also hates Fire when Fire is holding the hose to wash him or water her plants.

Favourite Colour: she loves the orange-ish colour of nectarines and blue!

Favourite Food: Beware all nectarine lovers, this bird is gonna scoff the lot!

Best Friend: Fire! ( As in the person and not actual fire )

Best Memory: Strix's best memory would be one that happened very recently. After a long time of waiting to be adopted and returned to the adoption centre to many times to count, a girl called Fire came in and adopted Strix. She cared for Strix so well that he almost forgot about the death of the child he was so close to and his wounds began to heal.

Worst Memory:Strix's worst memory till haunts her. When Strix was just a fledgling (1 year old) when she was adopted by a girl who was 11 years old. Strix spent two years of her life with this girl and they were both nuts over each other. They both went everywhere together and the little girl insisted Strix had her own place at the table (which the girl's parents found hilarious but allowed it anyway).
The girl even found a shop one day selling something called 'fire stones' which the girl bought and gave to Strix as a present. That's how she got her stones.
But one day an accident happened. Strix and the girl were walking down the street, no parents around, the girl was throwing a red bouncy ball up and down when her ball suddenly bounced off towards the street. The girl ran into the street to get her ball but, a truck came and ran her over before anyone could help.
Her parents couldn't care for Strix and sent the bird away to be adopted. Many adopted this bird but then returned the bird, most comments of her were 'She never seems happy at my home' or 'She's avoiding me all together'.

Short Story:
Fire brushed back her long green hair as she ate her sandwich. Her blue eyes flickered to were Strix was, happily munching the just-bought nectarines. " Well get fat you know Strix " Fire said, a smile appearing on her face as the bird only glanced up at her with his eyes.
Fire finished her sandwich and stood up as she wondered over to a small blue notepad which had the picture of a glass bottle drifting in the ocean. She liked to imagine there was a message in the bottle and it contained someone's wish or a secret no one must find out. Smiling to herself, Fire opened up the notepad and flicked through the pages until todays date appeared. She looked through what she had to do for the day.
1) Water plants and put on fertilizer--Keep Strix AWAY from your plum tree
2) Tie Strix down in the bath and wash that bird!

Fire smiled and re-read the second thing. She shut the notepad and stretched. Time to use the plan she hoped would get Strix in the bath.
" I'm just going to be in the bathroom " Fire told Strix, even though the silly bird probably wasn't listening to her.
But it turned out Strix was. He raised his head to stare at Fire wearily. Clearly her brain was saying 'are you going to wash me?'
Fire raised her hands in defence. " Don't worry! " she giggled. " I'm just going to have a bath for myself "
Fire walked into the bathroom and began running the hot water tap, now and then adding cold water so it wasn't scolding hot. She then picked up the bottle of Bubbles and squirted a lot in until the bathtub was overflowing with steaming bubbles.
Clapping her hands together happily, Fire quickly sprinted to her room to find her fishing net, she would need it.
Once everything was prepared. Fire hid behind the doorway into the bathroom, net at the ready.
" Strix! " Fire called down the hallway. " Fetch my towel please! "
Fire had been attempting a lot to reach Strix that. Sometimes you forgot your towel so you trained Strix to recognise the command and bring your towel into the bathroom for you. He also got nectarines as a reward.

Back at the kitchen. Strix raised her long neck and recognised the command and the promise of more nectarines. Standing up. The fiery looking bird sprinted to the stairs before quickly climbing up. Strix darted into the towel cupboard and grabbed a beach towel, not seeing the difference of a beach towel and a bath towel apart from a beach towel was prettier.
Strix then began walked towards the bathroom door, looking very proud of herself.
But as soon as that silly bird walked into the bathroom, Fire took action. She dropped the fishing net on Strix who instantly started putting up a fight.
Keeping the net down, Fire reached under it with one hand before releasing the fishing net and grabbing Strix with both hands. She held the squirming bird out in front of her as though Strix had rolled in dung.
Reaching the bathtub, Fire plunged the bird in before grabbing a soft sponge and beginning the wash the complaining bird.

After an hour or so, Fire allowed the soggy bird to come out. The sight of Strix being so wet and upset like a wet cat caused Fire to laugh. Picking up the beach towel Strix had brought before. Fire began rubbing down the bird. Strix only put up with being towelled down because she knew it meant he would be less wet!
Once Strix considered her body as dry as it could be, he strutted back downstairs and carried on munching nectarines.
A normal day...in a way...

Might add some more later ^_^
