Named after the Great Marquis of Hell whose image was said to be that of a Phenex with a voice as sweet as a childs

IT was a bit odd but maybe it was due to his very close appearance of a phoenix that allowed Phenex to have a great amount of fortune, not in terms of money or possessions but he was fortunate in the term that no matter what happened he got out of it alive, somewhat unharmed and always managed to live another day. He always somehow managed to have food in his stomach even if it was only small but it was something. He often found a helping paw, claw or hand that was willing to help him if he ever needed it, he found objects that he thought he had lost that in most cases were given to someone else that loved them more unless he held it dear to his heart but his stones did that. He was never one to want objects and become rich, he wanted to become rich within his heart, spiritually and emotionally so in most ways he thought himself fortunate in every sense of the word.
For someone that looked so warm, innocent and heartwarming Phenex had a terrible streak of naughtiness. He often found himself playing small little pranks, mimicking and taunting others as a joke but never going to the point that it became harmful. He did however go to the point that he has been flung, beaten and chased around; the chasing though, Phenex found fun and amusing until he ran out of a places to run to or hide in. As a result, his behavior has gotten him into a few sticky situations where the end result has lead him to avoid certain areas completely. Who knew they couldn't take a joke.
He wasn't always dishonest, well he isn't to those he cares for or respects but anyone else, they're fair game. Phenex as a result has a tendency to lie and con others into doing something he doesn't want to do or into getting him something but he mostly uses this naughty little ability to get out of those bad situations when he is being mischievous. He will happily promise you the world, tell you what you want to hear and in some cases say that he will be there when in fact he won't do any of this. He can't commit and in return it's come off as being dishonest so he doesn't have to run but rather get out of the situation in a more charming way. Though he does not know it, his father has this trait and it runs deep.
You would honestly think that Phenex would be a bit more careful since he lives on the streets and basically in the wild until he goes home to his foster family. He, however is rather careless in both his words on occasion and in his actions. He can be very clever footed and just seems to be this magnificent graceful creature but there are these small occasions where he just does not seem to get anything right. He says the wrong thing, he doesn't think some days and when he's having real bad days he's careless in body where he walks into everything, knocks things over and just generally becomes a nuisance and a danger to himself. those days he feels as if he's better curled up somewhere in a nice dry warm spot while he grumbles to himself.
A terrible fault with this parra is that he doesn't know when to shut his beak, he knows half the time when he's wrong but he just can't back down from someone saying bad things to him or saying when he's wrong even though he knows when he is wrong. He doesn't know why but whenever someone becomes aggressive when talking to him he cant help but want to stand his ground and argue back, he hopes though that it'll start to die down so that he can pick his fights rather than blowing up at everything. It is one thing to note though that his mother unbeknownst to him held the same type of behavior though she was more charming in the act rather than making large aggressive chirping and snaps of his beak.
Troubled by his past, Phenex dwells on it often, he holds dark little things in his heart and in some ways his bad behavior is a cause of those troubled thoughts and feelings. He doesn't understand or feels that he ever will understand as to why his family had ever left him to his foster family. He doesn't understand why he can be so different and there would be no clues as to what would give birth to him. He has been brought up to embrace it, to be loved but when he watches the young of his family he feels that he doesn't belong and it bothers him to no end. He doesn't look at families with a smile like others would but with confusion, he has trouble with commitment due to these troubles as well and as a result he doesn't have many friends or anyone he would trust to go to for anything, except maybe one.
Sunbathing
On lazy days he likes to sunbath,
his belly when no one is around will be on display
until he turns and lets everything else warm up,
he will happily do this for hours because sometimes
a parra needs some down time.Sunny days
When the weather is sunny
with no clouds or very little Phenex feels that
he can do anything he feels like he's so full of
energy and when he looks up to the sky he feels
free and if he can stretching his wings even
better, he feels as if he is on top of the world.Playing jokes
Playing a prank here and
there gives him great joy and the more
thought that goes into the prank the better
it is for him, its a sense of achievement
when he gets it right and something he
doesn't think he will ever tire out of.Sweet things
Anything from berries and
fruits Phenex has a massive like of sweet
things though he doesn't like overly sugared
things he still prefers it to savory and bitter.
He will always leave these until last so he can
keep the taste in his mouth longer.Spreading his wings
Not always able to do it
Phenex enjoys the feeling of freedom when
he summons his fire wings and can actually
stretch them without someone trying to catch
him or put out the flames.Cuddles
A weakness that he is not
fond of admitting is being able to cuddle with
his family or even the thought of his real
parents he likes to sleep in a pile together.
He feels connected, loved and warm when
he knows he isn't alone.Running
Just like spreading his wings
Phenex loves to run, loves to do things like
parkour, twists and turns or just a full on
run in a straight line. He feels as if he is
the fastest thing in the world when he runs
and when he climbs, jumps and twists he
feels invincible
Water
Phenex doesn't like going
near any amount of water, he has been
splashed a few times with his flames and
in some cases it has been in winter, he
dislikes it greatly, it has never been a
comfort to himSwimming
Paranoid about his stones
getting wet and no longer working, he
doesn't dare swim or let water touch them
and because of that Phenex has developed
a dislike for water especially if his whole
body is in a body of waterRainy Days
Nothing good comes from
rainy days they make him cold and miserable
and in a few cases it means something bad
has happened in his eye she feels the most
alone when it rains.Bitter things
Sour and bitter things make
him cringe and want to scrap his tongue
clean, maybe because he has had his fair
share of rotten food that's been bitter and
now his body sees it as something bad even
if it is perfectly fine to eat.Commitments
Worried that he'll be left
behind or that someone will be disappointed
in him Phenex dislikes any type of
commitments due to the troubled thoughts
he associates with it. He will avoid them at all
costs and flee once he gets the chance.Loneliness
It's a hard thing for him to
admit but he hates being lonely, he hates
having to sleep on his own sometimes
and he hates that he hasn't found a group
of friends either, sure he calls them friends
but not friends enough for him to fall asleep
safely around them. It a difficult thing for
him to admit and because of it he has to
deal with a lot more than he really has to.

It was odd, a mystery where this creature found those magical stones that hovered and became fire. To all that saw them they were seen as precious, magnificent treasures that in all right should not be with such a creature as Phenex.
Phenex himself knew how he got the stones but not from which they came but they were precious none the less, as precious as those tags that came with it that said sweet nothings.
He was but a young teen when he first received his first stone, homeless, timid and paranoid of all those who dared to come near him, the light was comforting at that time but the darkness somehow gave him that same sense of comfort. One felt like a father's wing and the other, a mother's.
He had as a young pup been brought up by a loving family of ravens, sweet and kind but with the male of the pairing, mischievous and taunting at times. The female that often nested or cared for her young always kind and loving to the small pup. He was loved, cared for and most of all, safe but it same as a shock to the young parra when all that love turned to isolation within his own mind, a darkness that had somehow slipped in from looking different, from being different.
He hadn't been rejected, all the family had tried to comfort the pup but in the end, with a heavy heart and a sing song or fair well, the Raven's had to let the parrapup do what he must, to find where he came from to find his true family even if his family in a sense would always be with the raven's.
To this day each new chick, even the old, the mother and the father would fly to see Phenex once the parra was near the area and in some rare occasions they would fly far to check on the boy. He loved them dearly but he held a yearning in his heart, one to find his home, his birth family and to find why he felt comfort in both light and darkness.
As he traveled, he met other parras, sat with them, chirping and chattering at one another until he felt ti right to move on, most had families already, people to go back to and in some cases those owners had tried to catch him, he was different after all. He survived somehow, he mimicked words, sounds to steal food and in some cases, just to mess with others.
It was one day though, as mentioned before when he was a young teen in parra terms that he found himself huddled behind a dumpster, lightning all around and rain pelting down to soak through his fur if he so much as stepped out. It had been one of his moments where he thought that it might have been best to go back to his raven family and just live life there but as his mind had nearly set on defeat a large flash of lightning so bright it must have blinded anyone that had been looking directly at it.
The moment he had looked up though, shock, fear and awe written across his face was the moment he saw a flaming feather float down in front of him, every inch it took, the part of the feather that had burnt turned into a glittering ash until finally all that remained on the floor was a beautiful amber stone that radiated a comforting warmth and with it a soft song that left far too soon.
The stone itself seemed to have a mind of its own once Phenex had touched it with his beak, it had wobbled at first but once it seemed to have gathered itself it had floated its way, lazy but childish in manner until it settled at the back of Phenex's neck, floating in its new home.
The whole thing had left the parra in awe but somehow it left a deep ache within his chest because that song felt as if it was something he should know, someone he should know but for the time being he gained his fire, the one that burnt within him but held no presence in the outside world until that very day.
The other three stones came slowly, it was as if the person who was giving them to him could only make them sparingly but he felt that they were reminders that whoever was sending them was watching, was thinking of him and it comforted him greatly.
The second had come when he'd found himself in his first fight, a rather aggressive parra having torn a few feathers out and left the poor thing to skitter away with his tail between his legs, his fire was a comfort but not a weapon.
That night, he had cradled the new stone and listened to that song as he fell asleep, the little stone making its way to his neck while he rested.
The third had been no different, they came when he went through hardship, ones that taught him the harshness of life and in the third stones case, the reality of how short life actually is. The song however had changed to accompany a second voice, a male he realized, smooth but not all that perfect and if he had lips he would have smiled but his eyes held a twinkle that night until they'd vanished into the world as they always did.
It was not until the fourth one had landed that everything changed, he was now in his adult feathers, his mind and years still young but his body was now fight to do what he needed to do. He'd become rather handsome in the words of some of the parras he chattered to, the ravens had been proud, the mother had fluffed her feathers and cawed until Phenex had become so bashful the father had started to make a noise that sounded an awful lot like laughter. He found life to be good as a wild parra, well as wild as one could be in the world now a day, his quest for his family had dulled and his pain of being different had dulled too but when a storm had arrived, much like the one where he got his first stone (the others had come at the dead of night) the storm had been brutal, it left the parra huddled, shivering and curled so tightly into himself he looked nearly half the size he was but when that flash went off again Phenex has bolted up right because nothing bad had happened, nothing life changing except the stone was life changing.
It held a black feather that burnt along with the orange and gold one.
This was a pair that was sending these stones to him, they calling for him, comforting him, they were home.
When the singing had started as perusal, soft and distant as usual Phenex had no stayed to listen he had started to run, his wings of fire no longer safe in the rain but if didn't stop him from running, calling for the voices to show him where.
He wanted to go home.

Phenex has a bit of a admirer, a little raven chick that likes to try and steal his stones whenever it got the chance to. The chick itself never made much of a noise and in response Phenex didn't know if it was a girl or a boy but he did know that it seemed to have a crush on him. It became all bashful when Phenex looked at it and almost gave off this little body wiggle when he did. He didn't mind the chick at all really, the stones always came back and they never hurt it either so he saw no harm in it, besides its parents brought him up. The little chick became somewhat of a companion whenever Phenex was in the area, it would settle somewhere on his body and ride along, sometimes it would try and glide and then climb back up. They got on well and sometimes Phenex wished he could take it with him whenever he was out of the area.

For Halloween this cheeky parra plans on tricking as many as he can and getting as many sweet things as he can that his body can handle, cant be eating those sweets that made him sick after all. His plan is to use his flames in the dark to make him look as ghostly as possible, the effect of a jack-o-lantern in the dark. This a season just for him to be as mischievous as he possibly can and he is going to love every second of it. He may possibly go and visit his semi friend Anxite, the strange witch doctor parra that often creeped him out more than he made him feel at ease.
Anxite was a weird thing, even though he found himself walking toward the little dark nook that the parra called home he still questioned himself as to why he was actually going to see the parra. The parra himself was odd, he had blue markings that stood out far too much and the nose piercing was strange in itself but Phenex found that he didn't mind the appearance as much as he minded the cold mocking look that always seemed to be present in his eyes. It was as if the parra was mocking everything you did, that you were beneath him in every way possible. the thought alone made his feather stand on end and he hated it.
As he walked through the dark, mindful of his stones hovering behind him Phenex thought of an excuse to meet Anxite, it was silly that he needed an excuse, Anxite himself always seemed to know that half the time he went to go see him it was just for companionship, it was as if Anxite knew his dislike for loneliness. He was grateful for the cool breeze and the empty streets as he traveled from concrete and into the woods, dark and ominous as the one that resided in it. His own flames a comfort in the dark Phenex knew he was getting close when he heard clicking.
When Phenex had first discovered the parra it had freaked him out, form the woods being as dark and haunting as it was and then the strange clicking that he later found out to be Anxite's bad habit when he was thinking which was often. He also learnt that when that clicking stopped, you stopped. It meant that Anxite was watching you with complete attention that even his bad habits couldn't come through. The first time it had happened was when Phenex had fallen into the barrow of his home, large and spacious as if a bear had somehow slipped into the slim pathway and tunneled the inside into something more its size.
Phenex didn't quite like it much, he needed the sky above him to feel a real sense of calm int he darkness.
Once he reached the burrow the clicking continued until Phenex placed a paw onto the edge and then it stopped, started after a few moments and then stopped again once Phenex made a noise that was his alone. The return noise was a welcome, a slow smooth sound that would put shivers down his spine but now it was almost welcome.
So without much thought Phenex slipped down the rabbit hole to meet the mad hatter.

I had to say something, write something, do something to put my feelings onto something solid, into something meaningful .
My one and only child, though you are not born a phoenix but a firecracker peacock you are still my precious little fire bird, you look almost like your father and very little of me, not that I mind. In fact, I had hoped that you would take take after your father, often prayed for it once you had been laid. It makes me proud to see the fire that seems to burn within your father burns within you too.
If you had taken after me, my little phoenix, you would have blended into the shadows and no one would ever have known you even existed, it has its advantages but it by no means as beautiful as to what you would become if you took your father's coat.
This cant be long, it'll be destroyed once it's complete but I wish i had the chance to raise you, though the ravens are a good family, the best i could think of when we handed you over once you were old enough to manage without me. I still wish to every star that I had been able to care for you and to see you grow but instead we can only give you those small gifts that nestle to you close and hopefully keep you warm at night. I wish i could show myself but I cannot, your father has once to you but not for long, we can never be around for long.
I wish i could tell you why we had to leave you and why we cant come to you once you've grown, i truly do, it would allow me to rest at night and to look at you without too much regret on my part.
I hope that one day we can make amends when we are able to meet but until then, my little firecracker keep safe and always know that we will try and protect you whenever we can.
