Favorite summer treat and why;; Haupia is Tell's favorite summer treat. His amma (what he calls his grandmother) generally makes it during the summer. It is a white gelatinous piece of coconut pudding (basically jello with a Hawaiian twist).

recipe:

Ingredients


Super Easy!

1 cup cornstarch

1 and 1/4 cup sugar

4 cups coconut milk

2 and 1/2 cups water


Instructions


1. Combine liquid ingredients, stir smooth

2. add dry ingredients over low heat, stir constantly until shiny and super thick like pudding

3. Make sure your Haupia at its pudding state is not grainy! If it is keep on cooking until the fat in the coconut milk melts and it becomes super smooth!

4. pour into pan and allow to cool

5. after it is cool, stick it in your fridge until nice and cold

6. cut into squares and enjoy!

Of course, he'll eat them cooked too, but there 's nothing better than cookie dough for this guy! He'll run you straight over to get to it too!

{You are a high-school guidance counselor, stuffing your face into paper work preparing for next school season, when out of no where, a young female steps into the room and stands overbearingly over you and your work. you shift your glasses and look up at her through a foggy overworked gaze. You don't seem to recognize her.}

"I got your message Mr./Ms./Mrs.(insert username here), I don't see why I have to give you this... but if you really need it
I guess I could lend it to you"

{The Fae hands you a scrappy notebook covered in burlap and Bound with thick twine.}

"It's the note book I kept while on vacation... The one you requested?"

{Now you remember her... She's Enyfs Lynn Larksworth, a senior attending school in the fall, you called her to ask if she had anything from her past that you could examine... To get the just of her personality.}

{She smiles politely and and turns to walk away. But quickly turns her shoulders in your direction, the sun outlining her radiantly colored body against the dull beige walls of your office.}


"Oh and by the way... My favorite summer treat is a multicolored iced-tea home-made of course."

{And with that she's gone...she walked out of your office, the door following closely behind her. you listed briefly as a few short minutes later you hear the roar of the engine to her Jeep, then the sound putters off into the distance until its gone from earshot. You never even got a word in, but her words were enough for you. After a short time wondering about her, you find your self sitting at your desk fiddling with the seashell ribbon that was tightly wound around the journal, keeping it tightly closed.}

{Some time when by wilts you were pondering about your office, you finally decide to open the journal that you set down buy your armchair... Picking it up, it smells of saltwater and sunscreen, the page edges are a bit faded from water damage, and small mound of whitish colored sand comes trickling out from some of the used pages, but every thing is still perfectly legible. And then, you begin to read the first words, written in large neat cursive print. }

{You close the journal and gently put it back in the burlap sack, your hands dry from flipping through the sand dusted pages, the floor by your armchair littered with the sand. After tying up the sack and placing it on-top of the mnt.Everest of paper work that lines your desk, you heave a sigh and head for the door of your dull office. But suddenly a small sparkle catches your attention, and you turn to see a small Polaroid like picture lying bluntly on the floor by your arm chair, you think it might've fallen out of the journal whist you were reading it... so you pick it up and discover its a picture of Enyfs: with a drink in her hand, sitting on the thick tough branch that seems to be part of a.. oak? maybe Cyprus? you shake your head of the tree thoughts and gaze down at the picture for only another brief moment before delicately sliding it the back with the journal. And you then silently slip out of your office, locking the large, heavy door behind you, and walking away...}
