The sun seeps through the trees making the woods look heavenly.
The sky blue, only a few clouds in sight.
The trees were tall, green, and beautiful.
It's said that as you walk through these woods, your filled with bliss and peace.
The breezes blow calmly filling the air with different smells.
Leaves gently fall from the trees, making the ground soft to walk on.
These woods are magical in the light of day, but when the sun goes down, these woods are filled with mysterious creatures hardly ever seen.
Capable of hiding in the shadows, using their colors to blending in with everything around.
The moon light peaking through the trees making the land look ominous although it's still as peaceful as it is during the day.
You creature stands out from the rest.
It's eyes blue as the night with twinkling stars.
Is colors range from a dark grey, a soft velvet to a nice soft tan orange.
This strange creature is called a kiamara, whose name is Maxence Paulus, meaning Window into the soul.
The reason for his name is rumors are, if you even see Maxence Paulus and look into his eyes, you can see the colors of your soul weather their dark and evil or bright and good.
Maxence Paulus is the spirit of woods, day or night.
The last Kiamara in the woods, taking care of the animals and keeping the peace.

“Hello, my name is Ezra, and I was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy when I was seventeen,"
Ezra said, taking his turn in the support group, What that means is it became difficult for my heart to pump enough blood, and I grew weaker and nearly died. But here I am, alive and all.”
“Thank you for sharing, Ezra. Since you’re new here, would you mind sharing your recovery story with us?” the support group leader asked.
“Um, yeah sure. Well, when I went in for a simple checkup when I was seventeen, the doctor found my disease. He… He told me that I had twenty days to live…” Ezra stopped there, flashing back to those twenty days with a grimace.


Twenty days. Then he would be gone. He had wanted to live his life, to start his future. But the hopes of having a family of his own and a job began to slip though his hands like sand. He would ask himself “What’s the point?”, and he didn’t know how to answer.
He grew bitter and depressed in those twenty days. Everything beyond his limited days he had to live made him upset and mad at basically everyone. He heard about stories where people with numbered days did everything they had ever wanted to do before they died, but the truth was that he was too sick to do what he wanted to do.
Ezra had always wanted to be someone, be famous and well known. But now he knew that that was impossible. He started to give up on everything and everyone.


Ezra shook his head, focusing back on telling the story, “But one day, I went into the hospital and the doctor told me the greatest news of my life,” he said, “He told me that I had the option of being a… Test subject for a new biomedical heart moniter. It is a device that keeps my heartbeat steady. There was no guarantee that it would work, but it was all they had. I could use it and possibly live. Of course, I took up the offer and here I am, 26 years old and alive.” He said, finishing his story with a smile on his face.

“That’s great, Ezra. Would you mind sharing how you are doing now?”
“Sure. I’m finishing up my biomedical engineering doctorate and the heart is holding up. My experience made me want to pursue the medical path, to help others the way I was, you see,” he said, explaining his career choice. “Of course, I am limited in physical activities because of my heart, but it’s much better than being six feet under,” he said with a chuckle.
“And… That’s my story. Thank you.”

i've been called many things.

i am none of these things.
just a pretender.

When I was little, I wanted to be a journalist, one that traveled all over the world to investigate things and have crazy adventures that always ended well. Or a movie actor. A pipe dream, now that I look back, although I do travel all over the world. And I do have some crazy things happen to me. So I guess I got my wish in a way.
I should back up a little.
When I was a teenager there was a dangerous criminal from another country loose near my family's home. My parents made me and my slightly younger brother stay inside and keep the windows and doors locked while they went to their jobs.
It didn't stop him.
I refuse to talk about the details of that day, but I woke up days later out of a coma caused by a head injury to learn that my brother was dead, the criminal had been arrested and sentenced to life sentence, my mother had left my dad and vanished, and he was unresponsive, not talking to anyone.
My life was shattered.



I took care of my dad for a year while I took classes at several different types of martial arts studios and online combat classes and learned how to track down someone. Then I deposited him one night at the hospital and went to go find all the accomplices of the criminal I couldn't get to in prison.
Taking them out gave me a thrill like I'd never known. I began to continue to track down criminals- like Batman, but without the "no-killing" rule. And I avoided the police like the plague.
After a few months, I was contacted by a large private underground organization that was paid by law-abiding citizens with vendettas that the law couldn't solve to deal with criminals. I joined immediately, changed my name for security purposes, and slowly worked my way up the ranks.
Now I'm one of their best agents. I'm not only a thug or assassin, I'm a spy, cheesy as that sounds. I recover stolen objects, take down authority figures, infiltrate organizations, and gather information. I've spent months undercover. That's where the traveling the world part comes in.
I've had many injuries on the job, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I'm good at this. I do good things. This is my life now.
Maybe someday I'll leave this crazy lifestyle and make a new, better identity for myself.

>Mraulak was taken in at a relatively young age by a pair of Koras. Although they knew he wasn't one of their kind, they loved him all the same. They had always wanted a cub, especially since they were having trouble conceiving.
He never voiced the concerns, but as he grew older, he became confused about his smaller size and his lack of the dorsal mane that both of his "parents" had. Mraulak worried constantly about this, convinced he was stunted in growth.
He still gets a laugh out of this story. On the bright side, thinking he was a Kora means he has perfected his lion roar!

music. However, he hates singing, and feels ridiculous dancing.

pessimistic, no matter what the situation. He has gone through many bad things
in life, but refuses sympathy; though he is sympathetic of others' bad situations.
He tends to put others above himself, even if he doesn't realize he's doing it.

>Mraulak found his feathers himself upon reaching adolescence.
He originally found four of the beautiful feathers, however,he decided
to keep only three. One for each member of his oddball "family". The
two on his tail are for his loving "parents" and the feather he wears
around his neck is for Aviah. When asked why, he simply tells them
it's how he prefers. In reality, Mraulak wears that one around his
neck because Aviah is like his little sister, and the one closest to his
heart.

Hey! My name's Crysis; I'm a musical artist, a rhythm producer... or, as some like to call me, a DJ.

I'm sure you're curious as to why I chose this as my profession. Let me enlighten you.

My story truly begins when I had just turned 15, a young rebel boy. I was venturing the streets with my friends at night. We were having a blast, going around town with sparklers in our hands, running from the police. At one point they got too close, so we decided to take refuge in an abandoned building. It was damp inside, the roof rotted and old from exposure, the floor creaking as we entered. We dropped our now dead sparklers and decided to look around. To be honest, I was a little unnerved by the dark atmosphere, which was only illuminated by light filtering through the broken window. I grabbed my lighter from my pocket and lit it. As we looked around different rooms, one stopped me in my tracks. There, before us, was a large, molded stereo, a broken drum set, and a guitar that was split in half. My friends weren't interested in it, but there was something about it that fascinated me.

I took a piece of the guitar back home. I set the broken wood on my bed and stared at it for the longest time. I thought about how music was created. Noise. No, it couldn't be as simple as that. That night, I listened to music to identify and dissect the different instruments used in each piece. I felt that singers interrupted the rhythm of the music, the magic that only echoed sound and resounding beats could create. Suddenly, inspiration surged inside me. I logged on my computer and used a music creator to make my own tunes. As I listened to the first few notes I had created, me, a rebel without a cause, something inside me shifted.

I worked tirelessly for weeks until I finished my first piece. It was fast-paced, pulsing music that made your heart beat faster. From then, I dedicated myself to vitalizing my music, eventually putting the tracks on CDs. When I graduated, I bought myself a stereo system. I blasted my music on it and invited everyone to loud, crazy parties, and we danced to the soundtracks I created. For the first time in my life, I was truly happy.

At one of the parties, a man came up to me. He asked me a few questions; one, if I created the music, and two, if I needed a job. That was the day I truly became somebody. That day I became DJ Crysis. People came to the bar I worked at to listen to the new DJ. Eventually, word spread, and it became more popular than ever.

And to think, it all started from seeing that old, broken guitar.

It was three years ago....
"Chasity! You're going to be late for school! It's your first day of senior year!" I heard my mom call from down stairs. This was it. Grade 12. I've been waiting for this for so long. I'll graduate this year! "CHASITY!" I flinched as I heard my mom yell a bit more emphatically. "Coming!" I ran down the stairs in the frenzy, grabbed and apple and hugged my mom. I ran down the driveway as the bus was about to leave. I sat down beside my BFF, panting. "Seriously, Chasity? It's our first day of grade 12!" "I know, I know. I just was tired from last night." "You should really get more sleep." "Eh, whatever."

This was it! Last class of the day! So far, so good! I sat down in the best seat, in the second row, closest to the door. My teacher made us all announce our names... but we all knew each other already. As we started class, my teacher got a phone call. She looked upset. "Chasity Martin. Please go to the principal's office." I froze. I hadn't done anything! "But-" "Now, please." I nervously got up, picked up my backpack and exited the room. I heard the class whispering as I made my way down the hall.

"Chasity. We have some bad news." The principal started when she entered the office. "Please, Mr. Fisher! I didn't do anything!" "Chasity, this isn't about you. It's about your mother. We just received a call from the police station." My eyes widened. "What happened? Is she OK?" "Your mother is fine. But you are not. The police say that your mother is a long-wanted kidnapper." "That's impossible... What are you saying?" "I'm saying, Chasity, she is not your mother, you were kidnapped." I feel like I heard my heart shatter. The whole world seemed to be spinning. "That can't be true..." "I'm sorry, Chasity. An officer is coming to pick you up."

That night I stared at the door of the house I had lived in for 16 years. The cops said the home was being confiscated. My whole world was upside down. My home, mother, friends... they were all fake. The cops said that Chasity isn't even my real name. A tear dripped down my face as I turned around, a small bag of belongings slung across my body. It was over. I wasn't Chasity Martin. I had no home, no family, no trust. I was on my own. My name... was Rowan Carter.

the quiet and loving brother

"Lucass!!! Hurry up we're going to be lateee!!"

"Okay, okay..I'm coming down right now."

"Yay! Meet you outside brother!"

Today was Emma's favorite day. The fourth of July.

We were going to see the fireworks the park and later head on to the festival. That was the schedule for today.

"Haha! So slow brother!" Emma continues to bounce ahead, leaving me running after her. The little girl's always this energetic, bouncing up and down, especially on her birthday. "H-hey..Emma slow down..you might get lost.." I say, picking up pace.

And then there's me. The quiet, protective brother. Our parents are usually at work, so I have to take care of the little girl every moment.

After the fireworks, we immediately headed to the festival and started the fun games. You know, ferris wheels, marry-go-rounds. All those fun stuff kids like to do. After a long hour of games, Emma tugged my sleeve. "Lucas..I'm hungry.." "Huh? Tired now, are you?" Emma gave a small nod as she hugged her panda plushie-a prize she won after playing a game. "Alright..hey..stay over there while I get some snacks." I pointed at the bench which was unoccupied as I lead her there. "Now, be a good girl and don't go anywhere, okay?" "Okay brother!" I grinned as I got up quickly, and headed over to the nearest food stand.

"Two crepes please." I told the man at the stand, who nodded and handed me two, fresh snacks. Walking over to the bench, I sat down beside the hungry Emma, who thanked me as I handed her a hot dog.

After a moment of quiet eating, Emma lifted her head.

"Hey..Lucas.."

"Yeah?"

Emma looked at me and gave me her usual smile.

"Thanks for being my brother."

"So, where's your sister now?"

I asked the kiamara who had fallen silent.

"She's..not here.."

"Huh? Not here..?"

"Yeah.."

I thought for a moment, leaning back in my chair as I studied the kiamara's quiet blue eyes. He looked..really, really, lonely. Then, the gears suddenly clicked in my head, "Oh..I'm sorry to hear that Lucas." I gave a small smile as I spoke, and a thought came to mind. "Oh hey! I know what will cheer you up, kiddo." I looked around and spotted a crepe stand.

Walking over to it quickly, I waved a hand. "Two chocolate crepes please." "Sure, here!" The woman took the cash in my hand and handed me two, warm, crepes. Jogging over to Lucas, I handed him the snack. "Bon appetite." I said, then bit into my own treat. I heard him slowly nibble the crepe, and after a few moments of quiet eating, Lucas licked his lips clean as he swished his tail. Lifting his head, he looked at me and gave a smile.

"Thank you, Zee."

You walk into the mechanic's shop to see a girl with spiky black hair and brilliant blue eyes staring back at you from behind the desk. She's wearing a heavy black apron over a black and pink patterned skirt and electric blue t-shirt. The girl flashes you a grin.

---> Welcome to Gears and Motors. I'm Harley, the owner of this garage. How can I help you? ...Right, so you want to get to know me? Well, let's begin.

--> First of all I should let you know this isn't my typical attire for working in the shop. I usually wear black coveralls but today I get to work the desk so I thought I'd dress up a little.

Now, about, the shop. Well, as you already know, I own it so yes, I am a mechanic. Here we fix almost anything with an engine though we specialize in motorbikes. Ah, the smell of motor oil. Know what I mean? Oh, guess not. Maybe I just like the scent because I spend a lot of time here. I do try my best at everything I do but my job pretty much rules my life. I love it here.

The kiamara smiles as she leads you through the garage. You can tell she is quite passionate about her career but you'd like to know more about her. You ask how Harley would describe herself to other kiamaras.

--> Hmmm, that's a hard question. I guess I would describe myself as hard-working, somewhat awkward as I tend not to get out much -I'm really devoted to my work. Although, I get to know a person better they might find I can be clever, capable, straight-forward and devoted. Once you get past the general awkwardness, I can be a loyal friend and I get along well with most people. I can be a good leader especially when it comes to work and I try my best to support everyone.

As the two of you walk through you pass bikes, trucks, quads, and other various forms of transportation that have come in for service. You ask her a bit about her back story.

--> Well, this seems some kind of basic so I'll let you know right away that I'm currently 23 years old and my birthday is September 4th. I grew up in Denver, Colorado with my dad and I only got to know my mother a couple years ago as the two of them split up when I was pretty young. I'm still a little uncomfortable around her but my dad's always been amazing. I’m also quite close to my granddad who helped develop my love for mechanics when I helped out at his shop for a summer when I was 16.
