What is a Helix?
Helix are semi-aquatic canine-like creatures that live in coastal regions, usually on or around beaches with rock pools. They have a thick, oily coat which helps to insulate them and to repel water, and they possess sharp retractable claws which are used to help them navigate the slippery seaweed-covered tidal pools in which they hunt and nest. They carry a large ammonite-like shell over their rumps which are often brightly coloured and serve as a form of protection for newborns and juveniles. They are also known as the 'Crested Helix' due to the thick ruff of fur that runs along the neck of fully grown individuals.

Story:
It was a warm, summer day at the beach and Codi was playing Beach Volleyball, or at least a form of beach volleyball, with his friends. He was racing for the ball and hit it with his head with a loud grunt and watched as it flew over the net. One of his friends did a large leap and hit the ball back with a threatening force. Codi's teammate got the ball this time and did the same head-butt method Codi had used.

"We will win this game!" He cried out as the ball sailed over the net effortlessly, just to get hit and come flying back towards his face. Codi didn't have time to move as the volleyball hit him straight in the nose. Just a slight yelp was heard as he tumbled to the ground, sat for a few seconds and got back up.

He was a little bit woozy and was walking strange, but you could tell he was excited. "Let's do that again!" He exclaimed loudly. All his friends were shocked by how he reacted, but they just shrugged and went back to the game, which, by the way, Codi's team won.
