what does Somatic mean? is it like Chimera?

Sorry for the late reply, I'm lead to believe that somatic colour mutation can be multiple different colours and can vary dramatically in shape, where it is positioned, what it actually looks like from the appearance of ointment smeared on the coat to the appearance of being a coloured. Where as I only really associate chimera with bays, chestnuts with a dark patch on them some where.
There are a lot of different articles but I don't have time to read them all right now, here is a screen shot of one I read, form 'Mustangs 4 Us!'
Another website here looks at a marking that looks almost like ointment has been put on the coat.
