Snow and Fire
Snow and fire, did not work well together, Kasai knew that for a fact. Living in the mountains, one of the snowiest places she knew of, had made that very obvious to her. She could barely take a step without the beautiful snow melting into icy water below her paws. It made her really sad, honestly, it made her feel like she was a walking danger. Her name did mean an out of control fire after all, something that always broke her spirits since she didn't really think of herself that way, normally. It was amusing really, the fact that her element was water, her charm, but water made her sad, made her become upset with herself. She huffed and continued walking, ignoring the water slowly gathering around her paws. It was always better to just ignore it, because if she kept dwelling over it, she'd only end up doing nothing with her life. She sniffed the cool mountain air, picking up an odd scent. She began to follow it. She didn't know why, instinct she guessed but she had an odd feeling about whatever was there. Closer and closer, good. Why? She didn't know, but it seemed good, so that's what it would be. What she found, was far from what she'd expected. She had come to a pool of water, but wasn't the thing, it was what was in the water. Flailing helplessly, was a human! A child, no less. She immediately leaped in the water, against her better judgement or not and fished the child out of the water. Once back on solid ground, she shook the water out of her pelt and lifted the child up and set them on her back, in an attempt to warm the foolish child who had fallen into the water. Slowly, the child began to warm up, the icy water that was once cloaking them, exaporating. Once certain the young child was okay, Kasai set the child back down.
"Goodbye little one." She barked, moving into the shadows to watch as the child slowly woke up and their parents found them. She smiled, maybe a bit of an uncontrollable fire was a good thing after all.
