Short Story
Misty walked through the long grass. It was lovely and warm. Dry too! Unusual for Scotland. She could feel the warm sun beating down on her back and stretched out her tail and neck, trying to absorb every bit of it. There was no one else in the meadow. That was good. She didn't like company or loud kits playing nearby. She continued through the meadow and came to a stream. The water trickled almost silently over the pebbles that formed the bed. Misty stepped in. The water was cool on her paws, that were still just a little too big for her body. She felt a little self conscious of them sometimes, but she knew that she would grow until they were in proportion to the rest of her body. Misty yelped with fright as a small shoal of fish glimmered between her paws and fell back into the water. Jumping back up before her head had even touched the surface, she ran onto the bank where she lay down to enjoy the last few rays of sun before it was time to go home.
