#5 - "Droplet" - Adopted.

Postby .Vetinater. » Mon Dec 23, 2013 8:46 am

♡ What is Forever-Chance ResQ all about? ♥

Forever-Chance ResQ is an animal rescue center, dedicated to adopting out a wide variety of critters, both large and small. Some of the animals brought to us have had a rough past, while a few were picked up off the street. Still others were former pets but the previous owners could not maintain their upkeep, thus surrendering the animals here. Each animal that is brought to FCR goes through a rehabilitation program which assesses their individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. But no matter their background or history, all of the animals here are looking for a new home, where they will be loved unconditionally and forever. Will you adopt one of them, giving them a "forever-chance"?

Forever-Chance ResQ is dedicated to finding the perfect home for each individual creature, and we encourage potential adopters to be 'picky' about which pet you chose to try out for. c: Do not collect these guys like other adoption places here on CS. We wish our animals to be adopted out to caring and dedicated new owners. So please, do not try out for an animal unless you would surely be interested adopting.

About this Animal
██ ███ ██████ ████████████████████████████████ ██████ ███ ██
Last week a sweet couple brought this bunny to us. They said they had bought the bunny originally as an early Christmas present for their son, but found out later that he has dander allergies. The original seller couldn't take the bunny back, and so the couple brought us the critter. They said that the bunny responds to the name "Droplet", and I think it's quite the cute name to be honest. I would appreciate if the adopter could keep that name for her.
Droplet is a little less than a year old and we currently don't know what specific breed she might be. She enjoys all the sorts of treats that bunnies usually love, and Droplet is quite calm and affectionate for a bunny.

Droplet is now owned by DandyLoops12345.

Tell me a bit about her: she's sweet and fuzzy, she loves to cuddle up in peoples arms, she's slightly shy at first, but once she gets to know you she will love you unconditionally, she'll even run about outside and come back if you're good to her. She is house trained and knows how to go on news paper if some is provided
How will you take care of Droplet?: I've already got a thing set up so she can sleep right near me, off the floor, comfortably, without the danger of being squished or injured as there is a ramp to it so that if she wants down in the night to eat drink or use the newspaper. I've got carrots, a water bottle and food dish, bunny treats and contact with the best vets who can get to her aid within minutes, I've also gotten vitamins, wound creams (you never know) and several different finds of feed, sweet feed, for when she's been good but doesn't need another carrot or other bunny treat, warm "mash" if she gets wet in the night and wakes me up crying, active feed, for Bunnys who want to run a lot, muscle and bone feed, for bunnys with arthritis or hip or back problems, common feed(the name says it all) and a few others, all of them kept in an appropriate temperature in a firmly sealed container, I'm also thinking of different Oekaki backgrounds I can draw that she would look good infront of, including a soft bunny bed infront of a night sky.
Art (completely optional): Her playing in the snow

Tell me a bit about her: Droplet is sweet and a little active thing when you get to know her, she loves to go outside with you but beware keep an eye on her. She loves cuddling and is a great snuggle buddy. She loves watching movies with people.
How will you take care of Droplet?: I already have an indoor cage with little stairs leading from the top to bottom, height is about 2 feet and has stairs leading all the way down. At the bottom there is two bowls filled twice a day with food and water and if she is being a very good girl I hide a carrot or two in her feed. Droplet will be taken out regularly with an watchful eye, she wont spend much time in her cage unless i'm away or usually I will have a pet sitter. Usually she will be in her cage only for sleeping and eating. I will have a bunch of chew toys so her teeth don't grow out too long. I will probably get her a little rabbit friend yet I have a puppy pit bull mix yet i'm sure he wont ever try to hurt her.

Tell me a bit about her:
Well... she loves to be around people but also not (Just like my bunny XD)
She'll rub against you and run around you, even jump on your back if you lay down.
But, she does hate if YOU touch her. She was in the wild, so she burrows and thinks that your hands are ''predators'' which is of course is because she is a prey animal. Usually you can hold her but she'll scratch and try to get out.
(Ps: She is a dear when being cleaned and wont try to scratch your face off)

How will you take care of Droplet?:
Just what a bunny owner should do, also the 3 needs of survival.
A two story hutch, not to small but not to big.
Pellets and Timothy hay, replaced daily.
Fresh water, faucet occasionally and refrigerator water.
Let out for 2-6 hours, the proper time to exercise a bunny.
Visits to the exotic animal vet once in a while.
Don't forget about the treats :)
Apples, carrots, etc...
AND THE WUFFLES!

Tell me a bit about her:
Droplet is an energetic little cutie who loves to sit in the sunshine, or play with her rubber ball. She likes to chase it around the house, but when she catches it, she simply sits next to it like she doesn't know what to do with it. It's very comical to watch! Droplet loves to cuddle up in your lap like a cat, and always wants lots of attention.

How will you take care of Droplet?:
She will have a cage with lots of soft hay on the bottom, and lots of grass hay to eat available at all times. Everyday she will get a dish of rabbit food (rabbit pellets) and a bowl of water which will be kept full. She will have a room to herself to hop around in, with lots of rabbit chews and toys. She will be let outside in a large fenced in yard for 3 hours every day, and will be watched when she is outdoors. Every week Her cage will be cleaned, and She'll be brushed every month. I will also give her lettuce and cabbage as treats, along with a carrot every so often (but not regularly- they have a high sugar content!). c:

Tell me a bit about her:
Droplet is a mischievous young rabbit, when she is outside, bare in mind to keep an eye on her. The young rabbit tends to dig. Although she may seem shy and content on staying in her hutch, you should allow her to adjust to her new surroundings as her shy and cautious nature, like most rabbits, may cause such reactions to a new home. Other than that, she is adventurous and a very rambunctious doe, female rabbit.

How will you take care of Droplet?:
I will allow her to adjust to her new surroundings for a couple of days to a week plus she will be an indoor rabbit, only going outside during the warmer months of spring and summer. Droplet will have free roam of the house and everything is rabbit proof as I have owned rabbits previously and a very experienced handler. She will never be exploited for her large litters and when old enough she will be spade to avoid anything happening if I decide to get another rabbit, depending on whether its male or female. There will always be a wide variety of enrichment for her, including a tunnel, a few wooden toys and food balls, where they have to push it in order to get the food. Droplet will have her own room in the house for when times are busy, birthdays, meetings and Christmas so she is out of the way and in her own space. During these events such as birthdays and Christmas a lot of children are about the house young and older usually ranging from 5 years and upwards. The young rabbit will exposed to different ages so she is comfortable being handled and petted. I will also allow the children to brush her, so they learn to be gentle and learn how to care for animals, such as Droplet and the young doe will also gain valuable social skills and learn to act in a relaxed manner around young children. As Droplet will be allowed to roam the house, she will have the proper amount of exercise and her hay, food and water will be changed daily. During the winter, when she occasionally goes out, I have a two story hutch that connects to a large run. The hutch will have a water bottle and a bowl of food designed to wear down their teeth, as they constantly grow, and Droplet will always have access to fresh green grass. But most all the treats, watery things such as celery, lettuce and alfalfa will only be a once in a while thing as they are too watery and regular treats will be the leafy top of carrots, as they are the only good part of the carrot for your rabbit, dandelions and fresh cabbage from my garden. One thing I will never feed Droplet is apples, or never a whole one not only are they too watery but the core contains a substance poisonous to rabbits. Once a month, Droplet will be taken to a specialist vet to make sure everything is is order, including teeth, joints, eyes etc as some rabbits jaw's don't align so they can't wear their teeth, and some get hay fever so have to have their hay washed before it's given to them.
