what's your favorite holiday tradition?;; Inviting my friends over every year so we can back chocolate chip on sugar cookies, or make a gingerbread houses with my mom's side of the family, or opening gift with my dad's side of the family. Every Christmas year, I open 1 gift on Christmas eve. But my FAVORITE TRADITION is:
Well, We like to give out brownies to our neighbors because we are thankful for celebrating Christmas. I enjoy every year in my neighborhood and I'm glad to have them with me. We also give out our unwanted clothes to kids in need, my family has lots of junk, so we decide to give them. We have realy no traditions in Jan. 2nd to Dec.23. We also SOMETIMES (so not really a tradition but something we try to do each year) like to go snowmobiling across the state just to enjoy the moment.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
~EXTRA~
Near Christmas I like to do a little claymaking... so IF I get a kiamara (which I might not) I will make a sculpture of it. I would've loved to send the sculpture to the winner... but, I don't know if the clay will stand and will not break, but I am very creative and hard working when it comes to clay sculpting. I have practiced A LOT.
Also Apple, If feel kind of bad for you to judge 10+ pages of entries... well... good luck Apple!
Everybody entering to win looks like this I believe

what's your favorite holiday tradition?;; I really love Christmas day where we get up early, bug our parents, and open presents like we're five again whilst still in our pajamas, but that's not my favorite holiday tradition.

In Judaism, there are levels of charity. The highest is doing it anonymously, without need for reward and as much as you can. But sometimes, being face-to-face with people and seeing their smile while they're lonely on the holiday season is so much better. Last year I started the tradition when my mother bought me three rolls of cookie dough. It's hard to make batter for a large amount of cookies, so I needed pre-made dough.

I ended up spending all morning in that kitchen, totaling 168 cookies total! My family got a good number of them, but I began distributing them by the dozen to people who needed them. A volunteer firefighter, the father of twins in the grade below me in my school, had an accident and ended up in the hospital with a broken arm and neck brace at Christmas.

The joy it brought me from visiting him just before closing time and chatting with him an hour past the time we were supposed to be there was marvelous. He had family visiting him, sure, but for the most part he was alone during the day.

Every time we run into each other, he always calls that day to mind and thanks me for the delicious cookie. It makes my day to know I made his Christmas joyful even with him being in the hospital.

This year I'm carrying on the tradition and going to a nursing home. I'll be bringing cookies, cards, and games of checkers to entertain them, as some don't have a lot of family to visit during the holidays and are all alone. I'm hoping the carry on this tradition for many years with my family, as the best part of the holidays is not getting gifts, but giving them.

In this tradition I will also give out money to those I feel are overlooked in today's society - store clerks, cashiers, workers in fast food, etc. I don't have very much to give, but small tips and expressions of "Merry Christmas" are enough to show them I don't view them as just a way to get my food, and it makes me feel profoundly happy to see their smiles and know they're happy that someone cares. I usually approach them when no one's around, because I'm not looking for any other reward other than knowing that I made their day.

what's your favorite holiday tradition?;; My favorite holiday tradition is eating cinnamon buns for Christmas breakfast. It started four, or so, years ago when I covinced my dad that cinnamon buns for breakfast was a good idea. Every Christmas since my family eats cinnamon buns for Christmas breakfast.

Every year, my whole family gets together. We open up presents, sing songs, etc., but my favorite part of all that is when we make cinnamon rolls. My grandma makes the dough from scratch, which is incredibly delicious by the way, and all the grandkids (including me) help her make them. We roll them in cinnamon and butter, and everyone gets to help roll them up. After a bit in the oven, we take them out and spread cream cheese on them. Sometimes my littlest cousin dumps sprinkles all over his for some reason! I can't imagine how it tastes good. We all laugh and have such a great time making these scrumptious treats. The reason that this is my favorite tradition is because it's the one time we all actually get along. We all work together to make something that's amazingly delicious and I love that <3

My family and I- we have such a weird tradition.
Every year, we have everyone wake up to a smack of snow to the face!
Let me explain.
Each of the kids of the family (5 of us) will grab a huuuge sock, put snow in it, then leave it on their parents' faces until they wake up. Once everyone is up, the parents have to guess which kid put a snow-sock on their face. Whoever gets picked first (I.E. Sammy put snow on his mom's face, his mom is the first guess it was Sammy, he gets to be the one socked 2 times next year) gets socked 2 times more next year. And yes, we do keep track. But, there's a catch I forget to tell. If your prey catches you before you put the snow on their face, you automatically get dumped in snow. Everyone will laugh and push you into the snow, and you act like your dead for about 5 minutes. Then we all warm up by the fire.
If we don't have snow down in Tennessee (Which we ALWAYS do), we'll make fake snow and do it with that. And then we stuff ourselves with food.
So what I'm trying to say, is that I love family time. My family and I..We never get to hang out much except for on Christmas, and I love that.

I, personally, enjoy decorating the tree each year - Granted, we don't have a ton of nice ornaments, and the majority of them are extremely childish or silly (For instance, my mother insists that we put up three Powerpuff Girls ornaments, even though I'm a teenager), but I love being able to decorate and design something. I'm not a great artist or anything, and with only a few apps to work with and no ChibiPaint on my home laptop (Java has been derping on that thing since August, unfortunately), I haven't gotten to do nearly as much art as I'd like to - And that's about the closest thing I have, not counting silly traditional sketches. Being able to do that, let alone be appreciated for it, is always nice c:

what's your favorite holiday tradition?;;
In my family we have three part tradition, and it all happens on a single weekend.

the first part of this includes going to chop down a tree. My family goes to my grandpas, or to a tree farm and picks the perfect tree, we typically get three. One for the living room, one for the entry way (small ish) and the other for my grandparents. After setting all of them up we decorate them, its just a nice feeling of family time and cooperation. Each one of us four kids gets to make our own ordainment for the season, and that is the first pieces we put on the trees.

After all the tree decorating is done in the rest of the house we bundle up and head to my grandparents to decorate cookies! as a family we make over 60 kinds of cookies, roughly 1,500 per holiday (more if we do peanut-butter balls). These cookies we take and give to animals shelters (yes we make dog treats too) homes for the homeless and soup kitchens. For our family its not about getting the gifts, its giving someone the cheer and hope for the holidays.

And if that wasn't enough to set up the holidays, each one of us kids gets to take a name off a tree. (like secret Santa for those who don't get Christmas.) we then spend the rest of December buying this kid/teen toys or items she/he would like to have. Sometimes if we really have the extra for the holidays we pick two.

If there one thing that I've learned from my dad and step-mom it is that money comes in everyday you can make more everyday. So take the time to 'go broke' and give others because if it was not for those who give to you holidays wouldn't be the same.

Favourite Holiday Tradition
Ohhh... This is tough, apple! Hmm... Favourite holiday tradition? I'm going to have to say... Our family get-togethers! I love them! Everyone brings presents, we stay up late chatting, laughing and enjoying ourselves! I come from a very odd family, two totally different cultures, so we have two get-togethers that are totally different, but just as special!

On my father's side, we're Hispanic. That means our get-together is very loud. There's always wayyyy to much food, but that's better. There's so much to choose from... salads, main courses and desert! There's always a lot of presents and loud chatting, and tons of affection from everyone. This get together is always held on Christmas Eve and we always stay up till 12am, to celebrate Christmas day, however, we usually leave shortly after.

On my mother's side our get-together is less, loud but still full of laughter and conversation. We usually have less selection of food courses, but it's still delicious! Mmm... turkey! I usually hang out with my cousins, and our get-together is on any day that everyone can make, sometimes late, sometimes early. We usually have presents for the younger kids, but we don't care! We usually stay way later than expected and we're never ready to leave, but we always look forward to it next year!

Now, I'm sure everyone's favourite holiday tradition is probably the same as mine, but hey? What's the holiday for if not family?
