What are TTDs?

TTDs are small social creatures that are part tea. They resemble a mix of canines and dragons. Their ears are small holes in the sides of their heads, covered by long plumes of fur. Brightly colored tuffs of fur lines their backs, used for attracting mates. Aside from that, a TTD is very sleek, covered with short fur. Most of the time, the fur is a natural color. But there are rare cases when one had bright unnatural colored markings. A teacup sits on their back. Despite the fragile china look to them, the cups are quite durable, made from the same material as teeth. The tea inside is produced 24/7, and is always kept hot - like a volcano. A large teabag takes the place of the tail. If a predator rips the tail off, it can regrow over a span of a few days if the tag is left intact. The tealeaves inside the teabag matches the type of tea in the cup. They have long tongues like that of a dragons', and it matches the color of their eyes. Being mostly vegetarians TTDs have flat teeth. They are the size of an average house cat, are are very tame.

ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ
Sweet and bubbly, Kestrel isn't anything like the fierce bird of prey she is named after. Her innocence and seemingly gullible appearance make most people speculate her level of maturity, often hurting her whenever she realizes that they are 'judging' her. Kestrel is quite kind; helping and giving others is her passion and she is not at all shy. Her outspokenness, often displayed when she is defending others, can easily intimidate others with her high-pitched voice and her tendency to listening to quarrels quietly before piping up.

She is very innovative but isn't the hands-on type, able to offer clever and creative ideas but never managing to bring them to reality. Her mind is as quick and clever as her mouth is, being lightning-quick enough to blurt out comebacks in a fraction of a second. One of her flaws is that she often uses words without knowing their meaning, thus often causing uproars. She can be a little too helpful sometimes, irritating people.

Kestrel's a human in this story
The sweet, thick aroma of condensed milk being stirred in thoroughly to Kestrel's cup of coffee made her heady. As she dreamily stared at the swirling white substance paling the coffee in her glass cup, her little metal spoon clinking against the sides, she wondered when she could be lucky enough to work in a bubble tea shop, where she would get the chance to concoct wickedly delicious milk tea - her favorite drink. Her past tryouts as a barister at little cafes didn't get her near anywhere to making milk tea, and her current shortage of money (and caffeine) lessened the chances of her buying of milk tea.

Blinking herself out of her dream, Kestrel pushed her wavy, pinkish-red hair back and sipped her coffee, grateful for its creamy sweetness. She had decided to savor it by sipping it slowly so the taste could spread over her tongue, but her long days without coffee broke her self-restraint and she started to drink it fast, ignoring her burnt tongue.

As Kestrel stood up and walked to the kitchen to wash her empty cup, her eyes fell on an ad glaring out of the newspaper lying half-open on her worn sofa.

She silently read the ad, over and over again, as her lips stretched into a hopeful smile.

This was it. Her first day as a tea-maker at a quaint little cafe. Kestrel stopped just before she turned the corner that would lead her to her new workplace. She took several deep breaths to calm her racing heart, smoothed and pulled her hair into a neat high ponytail before walking on, her chin held high.

It was not long after she entered the cafe did her first order come: milk tea. Kestrel felt as if she would burst with joy as she smiled and nodded at her customer before grabbing the ingredients for milk tea.

At last, Kestrel was in a place she truly loved.
