"Come on! Ax will have had a huge head start by now!" One of the group members urged. "We gotta get going!"
"Relax, Ax can't have gotten far. It's only been ten minuets." Another member called back.
Sandon grinned as his friends argued playfully. Every Halloween they all got together and trick-or-treated as a group. Every year they all chose a topic and dressed accordingly, this year happened to be cops and robbers. Sandon had come up with the idea to turn it into a game as well though since only Axcel had shown up dressed as a robber. He had suggested that they let Ax go on ahead first, then try and follow his path and catch up with him, like a real cop chase. They could take notes from every house they passed to try and located Ax. If Axcel was caught before midnight the cops won, if he was still loose then he won. Everyone agreed that it would be just for fun, but Sandon knew it would get competitive.
"Alright guys, he has enough of a head start. Lets start at the left and continue on from there." Sandon decided for them and they all hurried over. After getting candy they asked the lady if she had seen anyone dressed as a robber. She nodded and replied that he had come from the right and then continued on to the left. Sandon thanked her and they ran off.
At first they had little success, apparently several others had dressed as a robber and no one could remember which was Axcel. But then after about an hour of searching one member called out. "Over there!"
Everyone looked and sure enough there was Axcel. But the shout had alerted him to them and he raced off. The group split up, aiming to corner Ax. Sandon lead his half straight after Axcel, the others circled around. Axcel turned down a side street suddenly, which threw off the plan. But then Sandon grinned. In his rush Ax had went down a dead end! Sandon's half of the group took the turn and found Axcel standing there.
"Do we need to tackle you, or do you admit defeat and surrender?" Sandon teased.
Surprisingly Axcel laughed instead. "How about neither? Midnight was five minuets ago!"
