Hello, I am Nyra. Nyra means 'happiness' or
'one that brings happiness'. My mother
named me this because she wanted a
name that could bring joy to the sun
god, since she though I was born secretly
by the sun god. My family believes in
the sun god, the giver of life, the moon
god, who is the giver of relaxation,
the thunder god, who is the giver of
fear, and the woodland god, the giver
of freedom.

My story, you ask? Well, it is quite a different
one. I was born to a male and female,
both with very dark coats. I had three
brothers, as well, with dark coats. You
see, I was the only one in my family
with a light coat. My mother thought I
was a gift from the sun god. So, she
attempted to convince my father who
denied it. My mother, being as crazy
as she was, told my father she was going
to take me to Burning Hill, where
the sun burns brightly. If I was the
gift from the sun god, he would burn
my flank. If not, he would not harm me,
and I would be sent back down. So,
when we reached the top in the pure
night, my father snuck out to bring
me back. We successfully made it away,
but it took until morning to reach
even the side of the large hill. By
then, the sun sizzled the surface
of our pelts. My father panted strangely,
but he told me to dismiss it. I did.
But it got worse, and I offered him
water. He denied it over and over. I
tried everything I could, even berries
that could quench his thirst for a long
while. Nothing helped, and he died.
I was alone.

short background;; Merida lived in a small pack alongside a sleeping volcano. Mer was next in line to become alpha, but she has a rebellious spirit, and didn't want the responsibility of leading a pack. She had always been fascinated in volcanoes, and what exactly was inside them. She had never seen lava, but she had heard stories about it. One day she got into a fight with her parents, and she ran climbed as far up the volcano as she could. Suddenly there was a rumbling and the ground shook violently. She heard a deafening noise followed by rocks, ash, and other debris being blown sky high. Merida managed to escape to safe ground, but she began to worry about her pack. From afar she spotted her pack braving the rocks that plummeted down to them. She tried to answer their calls but her voice was lost among the commotion. And thats when she saw it, brilliant lava oozing from the top of the volcano. Her pack was doomed. Mer yelled as loud as she could but it was no use, the lava was streaming faster and faster and she watched, horrified, as her pack and parents were emerged in the blazing hot lava.

Ever since then Merida blamed herself for getting them all killed in such a terrible way. She is drowned by the guilt that she survived and not them.

Name:
Star Spice. My mother was very into astrology and my father made tea. I know it sounds quite silly, but when you think about it, it makes sense. Oh parents! Not being able to decide on a name and combined two. I still like it though, it just seems to describe me.
Short Background:
I Star Spice was born on small island close to the middle of nowhere. My mother always interested me with astronomy while my father taught me things about spices and herbs. I was quite shy and didn't talk much to other Kia's, but enjoyed drinking tea and watching the stars with my parents. I had friends that I had tea parties with and jumped around and talked about comets and silly things. When I reached the age of 2 I got my feathers, but my father gave me one and my mother none. Instead she gave a golden star an moon, which she hung on my tail. My friends and I loved them. A few short weeks later my parents were captured by humans and I never saw them again. I became quite upset. That's when I got my piercings, 2 to remember them both. When I drank my tea alone and looked at the sky alone, it was as if I could see them as constellations and hear them talking to me. I began to move on taking over my father's job of making tea. I dreamed of roaming through space in a tea cup with my parents. Eventually those dreams began to fade and I was alone, until one day while I was picking my herbs I heard a rustle and came to see my parents smiling to me. My father walked up and said,"Star Spice we are home,"

I had always been careful. I never went too close to the edge, and I never tried to do anything dangerous while on the lava. It was just that the pretty flower on the other side of the lava flow wanted to be picked ~ i could feel it! It would have been alright, I probably would have made it back safely, with the pretty flower! But Daddy got scared, and so did Mommy. They couldn't make it across the lava flow like I could, they always told me I was special. If I was special, I don't know why they tried to come across the flow with me, even though they were scared. I remember I was just picking the pretty flower when I turned around, and saw Mommy and Daddy disappear into the lava flow. The members in the village we lived by told me that Mommy and Daddy were going to be gone a long, long time. They said I can't go back to the lava fields, can't go by the lava flow. I don't, but I know my Mommy and Daddy are waiting there, waiting for their daughter to come and dance on the lava with them.[/size]

I would name this Girl Burning Ember because of her colours. The darker colour of brown and the light orange/gold remind me a bit of the fire at my Nan's house.

When I was born I was...different.
Instead of being born small and tiny,
I was nearly full grown!!! Within a week
Of being born I could walk, talk and write.
Then I developed a sense of Adventure.
So one day I went outside and started running up the street
Towards the volcano in the middle of the island I lived on.
When I got there I started the hard trek to the top. My parents,
Wondering where I had gotten to, finally heard I was climbing
The volcano. They stood at the volcano's base and yelled for me to
Come down, I ignored them. After many hours I got to the top.
And being exhausted I fell asleep. In my dream a voice came to me.
It told me I was chosen, that I would lead my town to victory.
The voice called me Princess of the Flames. That like a burning ember,
I will fade the grow strong with a bit of encouragement from a poker.
It said I was to wear the charms like the Princess before me.
The Kia who had been speaking came out to me.
"I am Fire Smoke" she said,
She looked a fair bit like me I realised.
"I was the Princess before you."
"Now I will hand down the charms just as the Princess before me gave me" explained Fire Smoke
She handed me two charms of a star and a moon.
"Wear them with Pride" Fire said softly
"Do me proud"
After that I woke up with the charms on my tail.
I ran down the Moutain as fast as I could.
When I saw my parents they said
"So it is true. You are the Princess"
