COVER YOUR EYES
SO YOU DON'T KNOW THE SECRET;
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO HIDE
A name thought to have Norman roots meaning “wished-for” or “longed-for child.”
- ↳ this name was chosen by her mother and father
because it represents exactly what it is that Aibhlinn is to them;
for quite a long time they had been told time and time again that they were unable to have children,
but she was the blessing, the child they had longed and wished for all those years.
She is their star, their miracle, and their dream come true.

for your viewing pleasure, it is requested that you listen to this while reading what follows.
pozdrowienia ; I am death clock, and will not be referred to as anything else.

♤ Aibhlinn has absolutely no knowledge that she is not, in fact, a true princess.
[ h i s t o r y ]
- ↳ It is all very true that her parents covet Aibhlinn and treat her in every manner as a princess of royal bloodlines is depicted to be, but there is far more to it than what is seen on the surface. Aibhlinn was diagnosed with having severe psychosis; a mental disorder in which the patient is…not on this earth. They do not know that they exist within this supposed realm, and create their own worlds, believing nothing that we see is real. To them, their worlds and their places are completely real, and, I believe, they are. We are just not at the level of sanctity and mental evolution to be permitted within their realms. Hers is a fascinating one, for she has created a whole new universe, where she is the equivalent of a princess, which she dreams of going to every waking moment of her day. Even in sleep does she dream of this treasured creation of hers, unaware of the fact that it frightens her parents that she entertains such ideations. What truly unsettles them is that Aibhlinn has confessed to them that the only true way to fully reach her universe is to die, and within death she will be transported by to the rumored location. She needs not explain, for she simply knows within that she is destined to live there, with no other soul, body, or presence in this land of hers, and for the rest of our time she will dwell all alone; as is her way.

[ c o n t. ]
- In a last attempt to try and keep their beloved daughter with them as long as they possibly could, Aibhlinn’s parents began to give her the true image of a princess, treating, addressing, and providing her with all the worldly possessions any princess would be astounded to have. So far, it has worked. Aibhlinn absolutely adores wearing her beautiful crown, always followed by the melodious tinkle of her bell, as if her fantasy has come true to some extent in reality. However, as a result, she is incredibly sheltered. After an unfortunate run-in with a relative that was not dressed and in the character of someone royal, Aibhlinn was thrown into a frenzy, crying and desperate because, for one moment, she realized that she knew nothing for certain about what was around her; the dreadful, sickening thought that maybe she didn’t even exist, nor her parents or anything around her did, either, was too much to handle, and from there on out her parents made it crucial that any visitors stay strictly in the role and formalities they should cater to in the little haven they’d created.

➤ Above is Aibhlinn's treasured stuffed animal; Chester.
He accompanies her everywhere and is handled with extreme care.
Her only friend, the young kia loves him dearly, and he is her
companion on many a priceless adventure.
The red string is a symbol of love.
[in d e p t h . ]
- The extent to which her family had gone in order to make things as life like as possible included moving locations to a place where it rains all of the time, in a forest with an enormous, sprawling expanse of a backyard and a dated, regal stone home crowning it. The backyard was then swallowed with just about every type of flower known, a menagerie of colors and scents all enough to almost make it so one could imagine that they were right alongside Aibhlinn in her visions. Little brick paths cut and wind every which way through the garden, always a new secret tunnel or cove in which to discover new treasures, and ponds swirled with brilliant fish beyond every turn. It is a maze of hedges, bushes, vines, trees, blossoms, and grasses all converged to create the most astounding and mythical place on earth. Aibhlinn traipses and explores the seemingly endless garden, crown askew on her head and bell serving as the way her parents locate her when it is time for meals or bedtime. Oftentimes she will set up her delicate china porcelain tea set and serve the warm beverage to her mother and father, content to see them drink and watch the rain.
- Aibhlinn never saw the use in playing with dolls, as any other youngster her age would have, for she was never quite the kind to have other friends, especially in her state of mind. So, she learned instead to tend to the gardens, even helping cultivate some of her favorite fruits and vegetables in a greenhouse her father built for her. Needless to say, she has grown an intense love for nature, and can spend hours alone sitting on the porch and looking out into the rain, watching it fall through the leaves of the trees and land on the petals of the flowers, taking in everything with all of her senses, sometimes getting so overwhelmed by the beauty of everything that she begins to cry.
- Aibhlinn’s parents grew the most beautiful, breathtaking, garden full of luscious and bright flowers, all ethereal and carrying the most divine scent. In this garden their daughter spent hours upon hours, for it was her secret place, and she loved it more than anything. The butterflies that wandered within it were little fairies to her, and her mother and father would stand and watch the bittersweet scene, a sort of empty feeling within them because they were unable to see the things that she sees, to experience the experiences she has and to share them; the nightmare of every parent, to be so isolated, yet not, from their child and their life. It is incredibly hard at times for them to watch and keep up the image for the love of their life, and yet not be able to be a full part of it, and the thought alone brings both to tears on many a night when Aibhlinn is sound asleep in her canopy bed. Yet, they know that they must move on, persevere for the sake of the one they love the most, to make her as happy as they can while she is still here, to make sure that she remembers with fondness when she is ripe in her old age that the life she had on this earth was a very good one.

AND NOW I KNOW THE TRUTH

- ↳Aibhlinn’s demeanor is rather quiet, she doesn’t speak often, rather preferring to keep silent lest she disturb her surroundings. In a way, she doesn’t quite need to say much, and instead says what she means and means what she says. Aside from being quiet, she is incredibly curious, and loves exploring, often toting a sketchpad around to make drawings of the flora and fauna she sees in order to get a better understanding of the structure of their beauty, absolutely loving to learn on her own and without restrictions. Aibhlinn is incredibly kind, unable to hurt a fly and it seems as though her whole body is simply one big heart. She loves her parents dearly, and cannot stand to see any animal hurt, and it is a regular occurrence that she brings injured birds, rabbits, frogs, and mice in order to see what she can do to help them, having tea parties and building beds for them in a dollhouse she converted into a veterinary clinic of sorts. She is quite intelligent and observant, responsible in the things she does, and shows much affection for the things she loves, although she can be quite spacey at times and gets lost in thought and daydreams more often than not. The greatest passion of hers is drawing and anything to do with art; and anything that she loves she throws herself into headfirst, putting as much time and devotion into it as she can, and cannot be called a quitter by any means. As expected, however, she is quite sheltered and a bit naïve in the fact that she has no experience with the outside world; much like Rapunzel from Tangled, but lacking the curiosity to go out and see the rest of the world, because all she could ever want is right where she is. It is not rare for her to go for days without speaking, having sunk too far into her mind that she becomes listless and almost lifeless, but always reverts to going back to her usual self. The time in which she has spent an extended period of time like described before has yet to have been witnessed. Despite all this, she is overall quite happy-go-lucky and optimistic, loving the little things in life and making the most of all that she has, bringing brightness and joy to her mother and father.

➤ "...a representation of feminine empowerment and beauty;
the fragility and short span of life..."
