I am known as Time Gear on CS now, but on the JBD Fanclub I am still Obelisk. I love to talk and roleplay with everyone on the chat!
Kurai is a male Japanese name meaning dark, or gloomy, and I chose it because of his colors. It would be pronounced "kur-eye."
That's almost 18! Nearly an adult! He dreads growing up, however, as that means more work and more responsibilities.
He's certainly a boy. He might not be a jock, and he doesn't like getting dirty, but he's definitely male.
Scorpios;

Biggest Strength: Passion about feelings
Potential Weakness: Need for secrecy can be isolating
Nicknames; Coo, Ray
Sexual Orientation; Straight, but a little bi-curious
Ear type; Wide and upright
Fur type; Silky and smooth

Relationships; Single, but has a crush on Stella
Fire color; Different shades of blue
Special trait; His hair! He has lots of hair on his head that he likes to spike sometimes.
Being a dreamer, one of Kurai's most important points, has two meanings for him. One is that he reaches for the stars and has big hopes and dreams. His goals are very large and he plans to achieve them. The other part is that he literally likes to dream. He daydreams, normal dreams, and loves all kinds of dreams. He feels that they give him opportunities that he could have never had before, even if they aren't real.
Look on the bright side of life! Sunny-side up! Despite being dark-colored, Kurai is not a pessimist. He would prefer to be hopeful and try to not bring himself down if he doesn't have to. It's unnecessary, he thinks, and just makes you unhappy.
Kurai watches over his friends and family like a HAWK. If you mess with them, it's like messing with a bear's babies. He bonds with people very strongly and he does not want anyone to make them feel bad, possibly because he was bullied when he was younger for being the quiet one who never did much.
Preferring to keep to himself, this JBD would much rather stay home on the computer than go out and meet people. Solitude is what he enjoys, or at least talking to people online and not face-to-face. Still, he does like spending time with close friends sometimes. One can't be completely alone all of the time.
Kurai is one to judge a book but its cover. He has a first impression of you before you even SPEAK to him. If you look like a hipster wannabe, he probably won't like you, even before you say hello for the first time. It's not a good habit of his, but he can't help it.
Talking is not one of Kurai's favorite things. He just doesn't see the appeal in bouncing around and talking all of the time. He listens instead, and finds that he learns a lot more by doing that. Plus, shyness comes into play, and it keeps him quiet around others that he doesn't know.
When this dragon starts liking something, he gets REALLY into it. Whether it be a book, movie, goal, or anything, he will be a devoted fan. If he starts something that he wants to do, he will get fired up and become devoted 100%. If he joins a fandom, he will find out all that he can about the characters and the thing itself. Basically, when he finds something he likes, he latches on.
Say that you saw someone in pain at a hospital... how would you feel? Kurai would cringe and feel quite awful for them. Since he is sympathetic and empathetic, he will feel some of their pain and wish he could help. He listens to other's problems and tries to be a sort of psychologist to attempt to make things better.
The classic teenager trait is that he has mood swings and is very temperamental. Some of the smallest things can set Kurai off. If he is very happy and then sees an ASPCA commercial, he will start crying. If you try to scold him over something little, he will become rebellious and angry. It's as fast of a change as a snap of your fingers.
Low self-esteem plagues many of his age, and Kurai is not immune. He is constantly feeling bad about certain aspects of himself, or thinking that he is not adequate. No matter how many times you tell him that he is a kind, handsome dragon, he will have none of it and still doubt himself and his skills.

Kurai has this, also known as IEED, which means that sometimes he does things that have nothing to do with his current mood. For example, he might laugh at a funeral and not mean to at all, because he's extremely sad, or cry in a comedy movie. This is one of the reasons that he prefers to not be in big groups, and instead stick with friends who know him well, because he fears that something like this will happen one day, at a serious time, and will end up making someone very upset or angry.
On clear nights, when the stars are out and the clouds are gone, Kurai gets his telescope and climbs a large hill near his home and sets it up to observe the stars until the wee hours of the morning. He makes his own star charts, studies constellations, and just plan enjoys the beautiful sights that the infinite space has to offer. His favorite things to observe with his high-powered telescope are nebulae and planets. Sometimes, he works up the courage and calls Stella to ask if she wants to come stargaze with him.
When he is at home, Kurai lounges around with his laptop and blogs on Tumblr. His blog sometimes has hipster posts but often has funny things like night blogging and just random posts. He also includes some fandoms that he likes, like some video games and TV shows that he's into. Kurai believes that you can truly find out who a person is and what they like by reading their posts and blog on Tumblr.
One of the items always in his pouch would be his luck snow-globe that his mother gave to him long ago. When he flips it, snow falls over a quaint little village in the moonlight. He calls it his "lucky" snow-globe, even though it has never been lucky for him at all.
He found it in the woods long ago. It seemed like an ordinary old, rusty key, until he washed it off. It turned out that the "rust" was just layers and layers of dirt on top of an untarnished, golden skeleton key. Ever since he found it, Kurai has kept this mysterious, ancient object with him, harboring the feeling that someday he will find the lock that it opens.
Do you have any pets?I actually own an anteater. This is him, and his name is Grayson. Don't make fun of his name, by the way. He's actually pretty cuddly, and I potty-trained him. Still, he seems to prefer other people more than me and it sucks. I've had him since he was a baby when I first got my exotic animal license.
What is your favorite time of day, and year? How about weather?Why so many questions? Alright. I like the early evening, and wintertime, and my favorite weather would be cold and drizzly. Maybe even a thunderstorm. So, I suppose that my favorite day would be on in winter, in the early evening, while it is cold and drizzly outside. I get to stay inside and sleep.
What is your greatest fear?Me? I'm not scared of anything! Really! Stop looking at me like that. Alright, fine... I'm most afraid of going behind buildings at night. Weird, right? Don't laugh. It's creepy, quiet, and eerie, like something out of a horror movie. When I'm alone, I start getting very paranoid.
How would you describe yourself?Me? Uhh... let me think. First, I would say very intelligent and handsome. What? Why are you laughing? Augh. Anyways. Intelligent, quiet, thoughtful... maybe a little lazy. It's hard to come up with this stuff on the spot, okay?!
What talent would you most like to have?I would have to say having a photographic memory, if that counts as a talent. My memory is not that great, and when I want to remember a sight or something someone said, or remembering material for a test, I just can't. It doesn't happen and everything gets fuzzy and fades away.
Haikus (poems with lines that have 5, 7, and 5 syllables each, respectively);Gazing at the sky
Do you see the stars twinkle?
They shine on and onBlink of his red eye
A lash of his silky tail
He bares his sharp teethUnder the full moon
The fireflies all around
A dragon, dreaming

I chose this song, not only because I like it a lot, but because of the message. I think that Kurai is the type who, even though he has been through many hardships, knows to just keep pushing onward. Despite being a dark-colored bean, and tending to be pessimistic and not very cheerful, this dragon knows to put the bad things behind him and look towards the sun.
I know he was based on Ever After (one of my favorite songs, oh my god) but I figured most people would use that and I should choose something else.

The Man Who Wasn't There wrote:Yesterday upon the stair
I met the man who wasn't there;
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish, he'd go away.

The Man Who Wasn't There wrote:I've seen his shapeless shadow-coat
Beneath the stairway, hanging about;
And outside, muffled in a cloak
The same colour as the dark;

I Asked the Little Boy Who Cannot See wrote:I asked the little boy who cannot see,
"And what is colour like?"
"Why, green," said he,
"Is like the rustle when the wind blows through
The forest; running water, that is blue;
And red is like a trumpet sound; and pink
Is like the smell of roses; and I think
That purple must be like a thunderstorm;
And yellow is like something soft and warm;
And white is a pleasant stillness when you lie
And dream."
Nepotism wrote:A good poem... The little boy in it also could not see colours... Or anything...
Nepotism wrote:This is a good song... It's hard to explain...

The Man Who Wasn't There wrote:And once, I almost heard his breath
Behind me, running up the path;
Inside he leant against the wall,
And turned... and was no-one at all.
