Believe it or not, her companion is actually a tick! No, not the ticks you get when you get a question right, I meant the parasite ticks. They may be hideous to others, but to her, this one tick is just adorable. This tick's name is Pig.

Pig doesn't feed on her blood, no. Rather, it hates the taste of her blood. He's a gourmet. Which doesn't really make sense why his name is 'Pig'. Pig loves blood that's sweet, but Lotus' blood [according to him] is rather bitter [but really, it tastes the same as everyone else's blood]. He clings on to Lotus' mane to travel.

At first, Lotus hated Pig. I mean, which Kiamara, or any animal in this world, in their right mind would like having a tick bouncing around on their fur? She hated him and did whatever she could to get rid of him. And in ten minutes of Pig's time on Lotus' fur, he got off her, thanking her for a wonderful ride, and told her her blood tasted bad. Lotus felt insulted and wanted to squish him, and somehow while they were playing a life-and-death-for-the-tick chasey, they became friends. Even both Kiamara and tick don't understand how.
