"I didn't know who or where I was, but only one word
slipped my lips on that day many years ago. Venus."
username~
Greetings! I am clarinet, a user on Chicken Smoothie; just like you. c: There's not much to me or my username. But I guess it's safe to assume that I am associated with the instrument, clarinet. I play a clarinet in my school band, thus the username.
name~
The name I have chosen for this Kiamara is Venus. Why so? It was the second thing that popped
in my head. It rolled off the tongue easily, as well as matches this cosmic girl's perfection.
the story~
[ past ]
Darkness. It was everywhere. It haunted me. I felt so insecure. It was hard for my eyes to see the shady outlines of shapes. As I surrendered to the mysterious color, pink engulfed my being.
A high-pitched screech seemed to form from my mouth, something I never considered using. I was surprised. I was delighted. There was light. Bright strands of magenta and salmon
flowed from an unknown source. I was intrigued to find the source of this magic that pricked at my curiosity so. It rooted from my scalp. It occurred to me it was my hair. Those neon pink tresses were mine. And for the first time,
I felt joy overwhelm me.

"Venus." the name slipped from my mouth abruptly, interrupting my long-lasting train of thought. Little did I know that it was my name.
~ ~ ~
"Are you .. a goddess?" I stared at their mystified eyes, full of wonder and curiosity. This was typical. I would then feel disappointment in my eyes. I wouldn't answer, just flew away, onto a tree or a roof, just until the anxiety disappeared. One day, I strolled to a village of stone and dirt, expecting and prepared for those looks of surprise. My pink hair flowed beautifully against the wind, defying the will to whisk itself towards the breeze. I hated it. My wings too. They both brought me that trouble of attention, which I so desperately avoided t every turn of life- even though I couldn't. As I made it to the area, I found no curious stares, no surprised gasps, no.. no anxiety. They.. they, welcomed me. "We have heard of you, Venus." They knew my name. Nobody considered the sighing Kiamara's name. And they intended to help me with everything. Everything.
~ ~ ~
My best friend in that village was a beautiful Kiamara. A pelt of brown, smothered by navy patterns and a set of bright blue eyes that made everyone smiled. She kept her name to herself, so I just called her Navy, for her unique color scheme. We were the best of friends. She had a baby soon enough, oh, but you're probably wondering about my love life, yes? I did have many takers, but I wasn't ready enough. I had a feeling I would never be ready to take the paw of a mate, and then lose them to time.
A tuft of hair rested on the thin-haired pup, whose eyes, hopefully, would bare the same magnificent coloring of that of his mother, who died at his birth, sadly. His father, devastated, asked me, hesitantly, to name the gifted boy, who giggled and pulled at the strands of my hair. "Alduin." that was my answer. He was bewildered, expecting a more generic name. "Are you sure?" I nodded, surprised. "She would have approved of my choice." I answered. He only stared at the loose curl came upon the child's small head, and I gingerly swept it away.
~ ~ ~
I laid on my stomach, eyes seeking the shape of the young Alduin. I couldn't help but notice how much he's grown so far, how his features were becoming more.. pleasing to look at. The Kiamara only grew smarter as the years passed. His mother would have been proud of her little boy, who always wondered if she watched him from above. I could remember his exact words, soft and uncertain, just like any normal pup. "Auntie Venus, is Mama really up there?" My eyes were closed shut, picturing that night, where we stared at the stars, and my- "Venus!" Alduin's normally gentle monotone recalled me to the present world, where I search the area for any disaster or begged my attention. Nothing. "What is it, Alduin?" I was certain my voice held a note of impatience to it, but the teenage Kiamara just waved it off, unlike other creatures like him, and continued talking. "Do you happen to know you're immortal?" Emphasis on the word immortal, as always. I sighed. "I don't, but I know I am." my answer was frigid like ice, an attempt of mine to keep bitterness out of my tone. I heard him mutter something about that being the usual answer. I felt a smirk, hiding it quickly before he noticed any sign of it. "I think I found evidence of why you're so special." he began pacing, an obvious signal of a long explanation. "You see, you said that you suddenly became alive. In a dark forest, cast away in the darkness of nighttime, in the middle of nowhere. I visited that site a few days, where a crater was. I suppose that was from your landing, correct?" I nodded my agreement. "But from where, exactly? From the sun, from the moon, from where?" his voice had gradually become a scream, at that time, he picked a flower, absentmindedly as he always did, cuffing it around his ear. "I have concluded you have come from space. Your transportation to here, unknown. That is all." And that was when he walked away, a few hours before the explosion.
Fire tainted the air with its foul smoke, making it difficult to see without aid as well as impossible to not cough. "Alduin!" my voice croaked for the hundredth time. A tail brushed against my body, and I turned to look, accustomed to do so. "Venus, we should go. The boy, wherever he be, is not here anymore. We must leave or we will go with him." Alduin's father spoke such profound words, I wrinkled my nose in disgust. "How could you say such a thing?! Alduin is alive! I can feel it!" I rushed off, leaving him screaming for me to come back, before what I assumed, he was carried off by his friends. I kept running before I collapsed.
[ present ]
These days, I walk around aimlessly, directing myself through towns, villages, and cities for food; other days, I wonder if Alduin is still out there, not with his mother in the sky. But then I tell myself, that's profound because he was just a regular Kiamara with a normal lifespan, but a mind filled to the brim with intelligence. But what if he found some way to stay alive after one hundred years, after so long? And as I write this, I still wonder. I still keep that question I always hated, Why are you immortal?, and a new question, Who are you?. I have yet to find an answer, but I hope I do before the light in my neon hair goes out.
[ future ]
"I hope to find Alduin, if he lives, or some information about him one day."
In the future, Venus will find Alduin, hopefully recreating that sibling-like bond that explosion of fire destroyed many years ago. She will tell him everything she has learned, which includes, writing, history, geography, and science. She would give him a gift, a flower forged in gold so he could wear it everyday. Venus would stick to his side like honey to a bee, in case some explosion- but rest your case, Venus knows exactly how to prevent such an error- comes along again. Alduin is the only one she loves and cares about, as well as the only one on Earth who truly understands her and her ways.
