Why do you want him?:
I watched you draw him. I didn't guess what he was based off straight away but I truely love how you've interpreted portal in his design.
The grey-brown base gives him a eerie feel like the setting of the game, but they are not too dark that they steal the whole design. You've used the main portal colours of blue and orange in a perticular way, blue on the darker parts and orange on lighter parts - on most of his design. Little details on him, the heart of his chest and the companion cube hanging from his wrist, add to the impact of how well thought out his design is. Even the feathers reflect the game he is based of! The signs of symmetry are everywhere in his design, it's beautiful and it mimics the portals.
It obvious that you have thought out his design. You have done it so well, in my opinion, that I'm surprised that more people have not entered! His design is a mix of tones and brightness, carefully done to appeal and not look tacky or 'sparkle-dog'-like. I'm a fan of designs already, but this is just making it stronger. It has differences to your normal designs and I love it for this, as it shows that you tried to think from a view. Maybe a game-view? However you managed to make him so handsome, I'm sure no-one appart from yo-maybe not even your conscience knows. Something underneath has, and it has worked so well.
His design altogether is a strong and clever mix, a puzzle. Just like the game he is based of...

Glados' personality has already come through to me, a personality that I don't tend to use for my characters - on purpose. A split personality.
He has a blue side and an orange side. They are connected to each other through him, despite how different the two are. You can see it in his eyes, blue surrounded by darkness in one - where the other sees the lighter side to life.
I find Glados quite interesting, both sides can connect on a certain level but the rest seems to be quite appart. Like mentioned earlier he has two sides, I'll first explain his orange side - the lighter of the two - before his blue side, then touching on the similarities of both.
His orange side... well it's very timid. It's in his nature to be friendly and considerate when this side is apon him. Glados will gladly make friends if approached in a certain manner, as he is the shy type. He is also very patient, not getting annoyed when waiting for somebody to learn something, or if they are late coming to him. Not only this but he is a comforter, and will try his best to make someone else feel good.
Despite these light traits, it can all change in a few moments when his blue side kicks in. This side of him is very short-tempered and bitter. His considerate manner goes away and is exchange for a hard outer shell of hate and regret. Glados can channel this out but it's an extremely stressful on his body and mind, so he usually uses his rage in video games - though this can backfire when he loses. As well as this, he can be very blunt and is a 'tell-it-as-it-is' person with no regrets whilst still 'blue' - when 'orange' comes back he immediately feels bad.
What both sides have in common is that they both are pretty quiet unless approached, and depending on how they are approached he will reacts in different ways. Also, both sides have a slight war over who controls Glados the most - truth is they both do, while his neutral emotions rarely come. Because of his split personality he can rarely make friends, so is quite the loner and is prone to losing any friends he has - unless they really understand him and are patient.

It's not the best, I'm sorrry, and certainly not the best piece of entry art for this wonderful kia.
I did a very simple shading. Beacuse I though that him coming out of a portal was a little bit...
common (even though that IS what you think of when you hear the word "portal"), I tried to
draw him facing the viewer, or a little to the side, and with a portal gun, ready to fire. The gun
stays up by [insert super scientific sounding explanation here]. It would be a little bit of a burden
if he had to carry it in his mouth or walk along on 2 legs.... If he attatched it to his leg or chest
or head or something, well, it would still be a burden. We don't want that do we?

This boy is one of the most amazing
Kias I've seen. I love his color scheme,
and the way that his colors fit together
like puzzle pieces. You are a very
talented artist. I have yet to win my
first Kiamara, and this boy stole
my heart away. I also love the game Portal.
You did the design so perfectly, I love just
sitting there and staring at it, looking at the
little, yet meaningful details. Very handsome!
I love this idea, and I love this boy in general.
I even worked up a full personality in my head.
So, if you would be kind enough to grant him
to me, I swear, I will love him forever.


I tried to go and figure out a personality
for him. A personality makes each creation
unique, and mix that with the color and
design, and you have a masterpiece. Now,
I ccan't say this perosnality is the most unique
or creative, but it's what I thought of when I
saw him, and I couldn't make myself see him
any other way. So, enough of my blathering,
without farther ado, let's get to Nexus' personality!


To sum it up, Nexus is rather
shy, and likes to shut himself up and isolate himself.
He is quite smart,But can't really interact all that
well with others. He talks very little, And is
uncomfortable in large crowds.He is warmer
towards friends, but is still a serious sort of
guy.
