His guardian;; Well, where to start... Zou has always been an imaginative little guy, and he always will be, even as he ages. He won't grow bigger, but his mind will. Which is partially why he's developed a bit of an imaginary friend. In his mind, his shadow talks to him and helps him stay calm when his anger starts to flare up. He used to ignore his shadow and just jump over it and get into fights [not that he won very many]. He started talking to his shadow not that long ago, and he's been getting into less and less fights now [thank goodness for me; it's quite the worry to have my little boy romping around alone...]. He's named his shadow Quirk, since that what most people call it anyhow. It is a quirk, so why not call it what it is?
Now, you're probably wondering why something as non-influential as a shadow would make a good 'guardian', right? It's rather simple, actually. Shadows don't do anything until the thing casting it does. Zou never really got the concept that his actions could have an affect on anyone else, so when he started paying attention to Quirk, he started to learn about cause and affect. If he moved his paw, so would Quirk. Another reason that Quirk is good is that it teaches him that fighting hurts not only himself, but his enemy as well. Pain isn't fun, so he learned really quickly with this one. In the beginning, he disliked having a shadow, and would pound the ground where he stood to try and hurt it. He'd claw at it and snarl and try and bite it. Quirk was a good fighter and never left a blow unanswered with the exact same movement, so Zou learned that while attempting to hurt someone else, he only really hurt himself. Zou liked Quirk's defensive fighting-style, and started taking that into mind in his own fights. He doesn't attack unless he is attacked first. It's a real comfort to me when he comes home from playing outside, and I know I can trust him to be more reasonable.
