I imagine her having a close relationship with elk - maybe somewhere early in her life a herd of elk saved her from hunters. As such she loves the elk and is often found amongst them. She gives them help whenever she can and the elk also love and accept her as one of them. In fact, I can almost picture her standing amongst this herd of stags and gazing at the camera like they are.
