Well,
Virdin would be my first ever JBD. From the moment I saw him, I knew he was different. I found a backstory for him unlike any other, some heartbreak but a happy ending. If I dud get him, he'd be dear to me, and used rather often <3
Owlicity, feel free to call me Owly :3
Virdin, simple, but I like it.
Male

Blind in his left eye, lost a lung to cancer.

Virdin is an appreciative, humble bean, seeing life in a 'Glass Half Full' way. He's impulsive, loves to see others smile and respective of elders, but will stand up for others. After returning from the hospital, he was constantly picked on, until he had another stand up for him.
Virdin is loyal, compassionate, affectionate, good-natured guy, who can look intimidating but is a real sweetheart inside.
A necklace with a brown clay pendant, purple glasses, and a bracelet (pictures pending)
Most soups, pancakes and chocolate (who doesn't?)
Tea, French vanilla lattes.
Nature, sunny days, water, brisk mountain air.
Snotty, rude JBDS, being babied.
Blindness, thunderstorms, loud noises and dark places.
Swimming, being stealthy, origami.
FINALLY my story's done, art's still a WIP, since illustrator is being a spazz.

The doctor faced him, face cold and serious. There was a glint of sadness in his eyes, emotion for his patient. "Son, you have Lung Cancer. It's been what's causing breathing problems and such, and truth is, not many live through it." Virdin's face froze. His eyes seemed to turn glassy, as if the disease was spreading throughout his mind. "I-I-is there any way to- help me?" The last words were barely audible, and came out as more of a croak than speech.
A month later....
The beeps of heavy equipment shattered the silence, Virdin's weak crippled form lay curled in the bed. His flank heaved, breathing giving sharp bursts of pain to his chest.
Sleep was almost impossible now, with the shrieking winds outside and painkiller drips. Dawn came late, painting the sky a brilliant red as the glowing orb rose. Virdin felt a pang of longing as he watched birds soar far above, chattering happily. If only this could all be over, I could be free again, Virdin thought.
November 13th
Virdin 's face was wet with tears, an expression of pain frozen on his face. His whole chest screamed, hardly able to take in any air. The disease had crept up his right lung, making it a struggle for both. The surgeons had gone to extremes, and had no choice but to remove the lung. Even with morphine pulsing into his veins, it seemed to have hurt him mentally. "How can I go on like this?" he had sobbed to his nurse. He lay unmoving, unspeaking, eyes transfixed on the wall before him. Thoughts whirled through Virdin's head, his family, friends, crush, all speaking to him. They all seemed so far away now, the mere memory made his heart throb.

It was today Virdin's life changed drastically yet again.
He was taking a stroll through the hallways, as usual, when a blurry smudge appeared in his left eye. Virdin ignored it, and headed for the cafeteria for tea.
It was unusual, but he found tea to be a 'cure' for him. He loved the warm feel on his throat, almost calming the remaining lung. Peppermint was a personal favorite, but Green was alright as well.
December 3rd
Virdin curled up onto the cafeteria couch next to the window, his favorite spot to watch the outside. Tiny snowflakes fluttered down, spiraling as if in an endless dance. He rubbed his eyes, but only one saw out.
The blur some days ago turned out to be an eye problem, that slowly began to spread, eventually claiming his right eye, leaving only a glassy, white orb.
It was said he'd survive with his remaining eye, but Virdin had a nagging fear the disease would return to steal his sight forever. The news of getting out of the hospital by Christmas were suddenly very slim, seeing doctors had to keep a close watch on his vision.
Virdin got up and slunk to the cafeteria, ready to have a cup of tea before drifting off on his cramped room.
December 18th
Virdin bounded down a waxed tile floor, slipping nimbly past nurses. Today was the day he'd take the first steps outside into his frozen world, to feel the winter breeze chill his fur once again. The automatic doors slid open, and Virdin breathed in the tang of pine.
The snow tickled his paws, and for once, he felt... free. He strolled past the lake, which he had only seen from the room. A bright scarlet bird fluttered across the path, "Cardinal," Virdin breathed. With a giggle, he sprang after it, but it was too late to notice the dip in the ground. His bright green shape came crashing down, landing with a sickening crack!
December 19th
Curled in the blank white sheet, Virdin breathed a half-hearted sigh. The ankle was only sprained, but now there wasn't a chance he'd be out for Christmas. He felt a warm, salty tear trickle down his cheek.
December 25th
Virdin could hardly hold back tears of joy as he called out "Thank you, thank you all. For supporting me when no one else could!" He dragged along a bag of books, mugs and other personal things, along with a new bag of presents from his doctors. Setting the bags down, he rejoiced. "Finally, free!" he mused, darting along the lake shore. "I'm gonna swim in this lake! Oh, and zip line, and go surfing, and rollerblade and and and..." Grabbing the bags, Virdin turned from his 'adopted' family, and headed the one place he missed the most, home.
