JBD's personality: Ernest is a gentleman. But an awkward gentleman at that. He is like a child (well, he is, essentially a child) drawn to the mystifying traditions of "manliness." However, he executes these "manly" actions with the bumbling fumbles of the child. Put on a pokerface? He'll have juice spraying out of his nose in a matter of seconds. Hold the door like a sir? He'll be standing there awkwardky as the people he intends to hold the door for are taking their great long time to get there. Some find these antics humorous, and they laugh at him. He tries to look at these with humor, laughing along with them. However, sometimes he gets the feeling that he's been mocked some, and becomes less lively and upbeat. This (in my opinion) is when he is truly a man, as he reflects on the big but simple things in life.
