Username: TrueMagikName: CatenaGender: FemaleSize: German Shepherd-sized; 70 lbs, two feet high at the shoulder.Age: Teenager Why Do You Want Her/Him: I love the color scheme, the accessories, and the pattern. From the moment I saw her I was attracted to her, and I had to try out for her. I will RP with her, make art of her, and just plain love her. I've also got some plans for her with one of my friend's JBDs. This is, truly, one of the only JBDs I've ever been so attached to without even owning it.History: Catena was captured by the zoologists that have been hunting the jellybean dragons. She was very young at the time of capture, and was separated from her parents thanks to the event. Confused and scared, Catena waited years for someone to help her. The scientists tested her, studied her, and when they were done with her at the end of the day, chained her up. She slowly began to realize that no one was coming to her rescue, and began to formulate an escape plan. It took her years, but she was eventually able to file the chains that bound her each night. She ran from the zoologists and escaped into a human neighborhood. She still had the chains tied around her leg and tail, thanks to the fact that she merely broke the binding chains in half. She is terrified of humans thanks to her ordeal with the zoologists, so she won't let anyone come near to remove the chains. She lives as a stray.Personality: She was made into a very nervous and paranoid jellybean dragon thanks to her experiences with the zoologists. Catena is scared to the bone of humans, and prefers to run. She is very quiet, and often times things trigger flashbacks for her. She does not like being alone, as she feels extra vulnerable, not to mention lonely. She is often visited with nightmares from her experiences. She is hoping to find a way out of the town, but she can't seem to locate the exit. She is persistent, though, so she will not stop until she finds a way out.Story/Art:

Catena stood in her cage, staring out at the humans that crisscrossed the hallways like worker bees. The jellybean dragon was unable to sit or lie down comfortably, as she was chained to the walls of the cage. The human crowd began to thin out, and the noises of speech and footsteps slowly died down. Lights flickered off, leaving Catena in sheer darkness.
"Here I am," she said to herself. "Standing in the dark, chained up, waiting for morning to be experimented on yet again." She sighed and sat down, but the chains on her tail made it extremely uncomfortable. She stood back up and, for a long time, stared at the metal ropes that bound her. They were thinned down in the middle, thanks to Catena's work. She'd been spending the past year slowly filing the chains with her claws and teeth. Giving up was not something she knew. She was persistent and headstrong, and would not give up until she escaped this laboratory she called hell.
The sound of a door opening shook her from her thoughts. A human wandered into the building, ducked into an office room, and stayed there. Catena sighed. She had been planning on chewing the chains some more, but the noises would most likely alert the human. The dragon tried lying down, but the chains yanked her legs out, causing her to lie on her back with her legs sticking out in different directions. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep, hoping the human would be gone when she awoke. Nay, she found that sleep was impossible with the two-legged creature looming so near. She struggled back to her feet. Silently, she watched the room the human had disappeared into. There was no light on, and no movement.
"Is he gone already?" she asked herself. She waited, watching the room for signs of life. After hours of this, she decided the human must have left.
Catena swung her head around to the chains on her right foreleg. This would be the easiest of the chains to loose, as it was merely wrapped around her leg. She wriggled her paw around and tugged at the chain with her teeth. Soon, it was off. She was one step closer to freedom. Catena smiled as she gently set the chain down on the cold cage bottom. She used her free paw to scratch at the chains on her hind legs. These took longer than the first, as they were wrapped to each other, but soon enough her back paws were free. She also freed her tail, but the tight metal bindings had dug into her flesh and kept her from removing most of the chain. She turned her head to her front left leg. This was the one chain that connected to all the others. This was the one that was connected to her body by a shackle. She wouldn't be able to slip free of this one - she'd have to break it. Slowly at first, she began to chew on the hard silver links. Her teeth ached and complained, but she kept chewing. She quickened her pace when the light of sunrise caught her eyes. The room the human had vanished into filled with a synthetic yellow light, and a tall shadow danced out into the hall from the open doorway. Catena's chewing became hasty and fast. She was nearly through the chain when the human stumbled out of the office room and into the hallway. The dragon froze, watching the human. It was moving towards her, and she knew she'd been caught. But Catena refused to give in. With a loud clang, the chain snapped in half and slumped to the cage floor. This attracted the human's attention, which, until now, had actually not been focused on the dragon. Catena began to panic. She had caused the human to move faster. Desperately, she kicked at the cage door. By using both of her hind legs, she was able to break the lock.

Hunted. That was the word that broke through her panicked thoughts. It should have been
freedom, but that was not the case. She was not free if the human caught her and gave her new chains. She would be the exact opposite of free. All of her hard work would have helped her in no way. She would not allow that.
Catena darted out of the cage in a blast of pure speed and adrenaline. She dove underneath the human, between its legs. Her paws scrabbled, begging to find a grip on the slick floor. The human lumbered behind her, but Catena had a headstart. She raced towards the doors at the end of the hall. Those very doors would lead straight to her freedom.
She burst through the doors to be greeted with the most horrific sight she could have imagined. A group of animal control officers and scientists were waiting for her outside the door. She froze, and everything seemed to slow down. The officers swung a pole towards her, which had a strange loop of wire at the end. It was meant to catch her, and she knew it. She felt as if she were moving slower than time itself as she dodged the swinging pole. The humans moved mind-bogglingly slow as they chased after her. Catena heard her blood pounding in her ears as her paws slammed into the earth. Suddenly, everything was back to normal. She ran with every ounce of speed she had. She had no idea where she was going, but she didn't care. Wherever it was, it was to freedom.
A large cluster of buildings loomed ahead of her. She was becoming tired, breath catching in her throat. She glanced behind her. The humans were still there, but they were less so in numbers. The only place she knew she could hide was the town ahead. She forced her legs to continue racing, and her muscles screaming in agony. Within seconds she was running on a paved road. Within seconds, that paved road became a nightmare.
Large metal monsters roared towards her. She felt a sharp pain as a stone dug into her paw. The chain hanging from the shackle on her front paw tripped her. She rolled inbetween the large, round paws of one of the beasts. Then it was over.
The chase was over. Her fear faded as she realized she was safe. There would be no way the humans would be foolish enough to follow her into this swarm of monsters. She laughed as the beast passed over her. She was not harmed. She scrambled to her paws and jumped onto the sidewalk. She ran into the alleyways.
She ran into her freedom.
