Answer: Well, honestly, both. XD It's always good to rotate you're horses (or WME in this case) through stalls and meaadows, depending on the climate, weather, age of the equine, and the health of the equine. For example, if you had a very young sick foal, if it was the wntetme, t would probably be an extremely bad idea to keep the little thing out in the snowy field all the time. It'd be much better for it if you kept it safe and warm in a stable. There's ups and downs in both- Keeping it in a stable will keep it warmer and probably much safer, though the horse/WME would become bored, and preform destructive habits, such as biting/chewing. A WME needs to stretch it's legs. Keeping it in a meadow would be great, toos plenty of room to run and play, and plenty of fresh grass. Though then it is more open to diseases and predators. But since I'm guessing we have to chose one, I'll chose field, since WME got their name Wild Mountain Equids for a reason, right?
