A Lil' Story
"Ki! Kii, put it baack!" A young JBD with a pelt the color of Dusty Rose shouts, aggravated by his older brother's intrusion. Pepino was doing a daily housecheck, when his salmon furred brother paid an unexpected visit. Kiwaro had unknowingly tracked mud onto the polished marble floor, and was leaving fingerprints on the newly shined, glass picture frames. Being a neat freak, this pushed Pep over the line, and ended in him throwing a fit until Ki righted his wrongs. "Okay, okay, chill." The older male says cooly, his words moving like fluid. Pepino lets out a deep sigh, and slumps onto his ebony, Italian leather couch. "Kiwaro, how do you do it?" the streaked youngster asks, barely out of his teens. "Do what?" Was the calm, slightly muffled response. "Y'know..How are you so cool all the time? How do you do that? For one, you get like, all the girls.." Hearing no answer, Pepino turns his head, to see his brother chowing down on a Pepino fruit. "Well kid, you just gota let go sometimes, you get me? Don't be so..Spazzy." Kiwaro lingered on the word for a moment, as if adding emphasis, leaving the younger brother deep in thought. Since hatching, Pepino and Kiwaro had been close, closer than anyone else. And ever since Ki had saved Pep's life, they'd gotten closer than a packed pod full of peas. (Like, about to burst packed.) After a few moents of pondering, the lime eyed JBD leaped from his seat. "I got it!" With those three words left suspnded, he zoomed out the door, leaving a very confused Kiwaro wondering what his lil' bro meant.
>------<
After an hour or so, Pepino strode in the doorway, shades on his eyes and a faux leather jacket on his shoulders. He has a little smirk on his face, giving him a 'bad boy' illusion. Kiwaro lifted his head from the arm of the couch, in a laying position. He chocked back a giggle at the sight; It was so unlike his brother. "Umm..Pep? I hope those aren't Sasha's.." he smoothly remarks, raising a brow. "They ain't, dun worry broskii." Came the reply, sending Kiwaro into a fit of laughter. Normally, Pep loved when he made his brother laugh, but this time, it hurt. Stung his insides, and caused him to feel something close to a kicked puppy. "But..Ki..I just wanted to be like you.." he sniffles, tears daring to pour out of his glazed yellow-green eyes. In a tantrum of extreme self-disappointment, the dusty rose male tears off the jacket and throws his shades, then bolts for his bedroom to sulk."Pep, wait! I-" Kiwaro stops, feeling terible for hurting his brother. Sauntering to Pep's retreat destination, the older males knocks on the door."I'm sorry." He says in a soothing, sincere voice. "It was just..Odd. You don't have to be me, I like you how you are. In fact, I think you're perfect how you are. Don't let anyone tell you otherwie." A blurry eyed, sniveling Pepino opens the door a crack and asks in a little voice, "You really think so?" Even thouh he already knew the answer."Really." The ivory white door swings fully open, and Pepino jumps onto Kiwaro's fluffy back, nuzzling him."You're the best!" The striped dragon exclaims, radiating love for him big bro."No, you are." Kiwaro responds, absolutely positive.

Pepino skimmed about the lonely street, taking small, quick strides. He was almost out of the desolate, stark area,
almost to his loving, home that almost radiates love and safety. But he was a stride too slow. The school bullies, a jam of large, aggressive JBDs with evil twisted in their souls jumped the pale, vibrant male, teasing him. Nerd, Geek, Teacher's pet. The words
hit Pepino like a thousand platinum bullets, loaded with poison. Yet he did nothing. The attackers seized the opprtunity to make their mark, to taint the pure one before them. Pepino was a perfect student, and excelled in every subject, nd for that, they
hated him. Hated him down to their ruthless, barren souls, for they'd been just like him before. 'Twas unclear what corrupted
them, but nonetheless, their main goal was to poison every JBD's heart, and turn the civilization to chaos. The head honcho of the
group, the largest and most evil, stepped forward, and kicked the quivering victim to the streets. Pepino scrambled in a fluffy frenzy to upright himself and sprint away to safety, but somehow managed to get himself tangled in his tail, which was much too large for an 8 year old. The jam advanced, throwing punches an his jaw and ribcage, leaving deep, purple bruises, and Pepino coughing up blood at their feet. They did awful things, oh terrible things every time Pep would mutter a cry of help. His attemptes for aid were fruitless, and only caused him more pain, so he merely gave up and accepted the path fate had laid out for him.

Kiwaro had been playing 'Robin Hood' with a few friends of his in the woods nearby, when he heard yelps of pain, mingled with shrieks for help. The voice was unnervingly familiar, then finally the 11 year old had figured it out. Pepino was in trouble. In a fury of protection, the salmon pelted male dashed to the source, where he saw 3 JBD's beatingthe lights out of a bloody, furry mass on the road that Ki quickly recognized as his little brother. Normally, if it was him in the place of the bulied, he'd flee, but when you mess with someone he cares about, then you're in trouble. Kiwaro leaped onto the largest one's back, startling the other two. Beig much older, and bigger than the jam, he easily intimidated the trio, and after some tussling, snarling, and fighting, the bulies fleed. Before Kiwaro could waltz around in victory, and stared at his almost lifeless brother, and panicked a little, debating on wht to do. He was only 11 of course. Finally, he whipped out the emergency phone his mother gave him, and dialed 911, then patiently awaited the ambulance, cradlin his traumatized rother in his paws, telling him everything would be okay.Pepino was rushed to the hospital, and the boy's parents alertd. Together they waited, for hours in the waiting room, patiently awaiting the arrival of the status of Pepino. The young nurse gave a nod, approvng the Pepino would live, sending the whole family into celebration. Kiwaro was a hero, and little did he know, his face was the last thing his brother saw before passingout. And that's what remained in his head for days, replaying how his brother had saved his life in his head, over and over. The warmth of his body, and how he told him it would be okay. Pepino loved him more than ever, and the boys became very close, even closer than thought possible. And years later, he still remebers the feeling.
