Winner Announced!!

Postby Chasing Dreams » Mon Apr 02, 2012 3:42 am

Winner is Green Arrow. I picked Green Arrow for the winner because I could really understand her personality, plus that was sort of how I saw this pretty girl too xD Congratulations

{~| Name: |~}
Thespian, sometimes nicknamed Hess. It took ages to think of this name. I was actually travelling down the Thames in London when the name came to be. At first, I really wanted to name her Nala. It fitted, but wasn't unusual enough. So I sat there, probably looking mental as I mumbled names to myself and wrote stuff down. But I didn't care. I was having fun. I thought about what name would go with her colouring; her brindling. And then the name Thespian came to me. It was perfect; unusual, had a good meaning, and it sounded like a sandy name. Like she is.

{~| Gender: |~}
Female.
Wouldn't have it any other way, even if it was a choice.

{~| Personality |~}
Thespian is a gentle creature. It isn't in her nature to hurt something or to be cruel. Things like that just don't appeal to her, and she finds those traits in others deeply unattractive. Being sensitive doesn't mean she's likely to be hurt by trivial things, however. In fact, she's bold and brave.
As her name would suggest, Thespian is good at acting. She can hide impatience, which she rarely feels, and anger, which is something which almost never happens.
But Hess isn't a bad Ereai. Far from it. She's sweet, considerate, thoughtful and affectionate. With loved ones, she's caring and she adores young Ereai. Something about their curiosity intrigues her and she enjoys being around infants of every species. They're so uncomplicated and easy to please. Hess is also light-hearted and enjoys sharing a few jokes with her friends. Helping others is something she's drawn to, subconsciously. When someone is in need of her, she'll do her best to help and make them feel better. Hess is sympathetic and constantly alert. Although she has no young of her own, she has a strong maternal instinct. She'll do anything to protect the young Ereai fawns. After all, they are the future generation.
Thespian is good at proving her point. She's tactful and tries to avoid confrontations, though if faced she is fearless. She likes to think of the future a lot, and is very interested in learning about legends and folklore. Deities are all over the world, and Hess likes to find out things about them so she can learn more about the world around her.

{~| Living Family |~}
None. Her mother died during birth, and as a result Thespian had to be nursed by another Ereai who had newborn offspring. Her father drowned. He was down at a river which had very strong currents, and he slipped on a loose rock, pitching him into the water. Instantly he was swept downriver. Unable to hold his head out of the water, he couldn't breathe. Because of this, he died.

{~| Story |~}
The young Ereai stretched up to pluck the apple from the tree, her paws placed against the tree trunk as she leaned against it. Her teeth gently closed over the fruit, piercing the skin. The apple fell almost gratefully from its stalk. Thespian dropped back to all fours, crunching down on the sweet treat. She stood in a small, wild orchard, surrounded by apple trees. Orange trees were to be found hiding among their bittersweet companions, and they were refreshing and full of flavour. If you liked them. Which Hess didn't. With a soft snort, she finished the apple and turned to get back to the herd, then she saw an Ereai fawn that had followed her from the rest of the Ereai adults. "Deviet!" She scolded gently. "You know it's dangerous. Something could attack you."
Deviet looked ashamed for a minute, then grinned. "I know, but I was wondering..." He trailed off, his eyes bright.
Hess sighed, pretending to look exasperated. "What do you want?" She couldn't resist smiling.
"Honey." Deviet said promptly. His long tail swished happily, for he knew he would get what he desired.
"Fine. Just go back to the herd." Thespian nudged Deviet's ribs. "Go on. I don't want you getting hurt." She affectionately nuzzled his ears as she sent him back. Deviet nodded and bounded back towards his mother.
Shaking her head, Hess smiled and cantered further into the little orchard. Bees seemed to like the orange trees to nest in, so she headed there. There were flowers everywhere. They carpeted the ground. Each blossom was a different colour. There must have been a hundred shades of red alone.
Hess carefully picked her way through the plants, pausing every now and then to admire a particularly beautiful flower. The plentiful plant life was another thing that drew bees here to set up their homes. It was an easy place to thrive.
Thoughtfully, Thespian halted in front of a small orange tree, eyeing the bee hive which hung on the lowest branch. There were numerous ways to safely retrieve the hidden honeycombs, but the choice was limited if she didn't want to hurt the bees. Thespian chose the easiest option, which was also one of the most painful. She had to kick down the hive. "Sorry." The Ereai muttered under her breath, as she positioned herself. With a snort, she gave a powerful buck at the tree. The branch snapped off at the hit and fell down. Instantly the bees swarmed out, humming furiously. Hess swiftly snatched up the ripped hive and galloped off, her prize swinging wildly. She was pursued by the angry insects. Stings landed all over her, leaving welts. Thespian yelped, shaking her head in irritation at the pain.
After a few minutes, the swarm dropped back. Unfortunately they had driven Hess into a boggy-type area. She was knee deep in smelly mud which would make her retch if she could. "The things I do for babies." Her voice was quiet, but not resentful. The look on Deviet's face would be the perfect reward. As she waded out, she noticed her legs were caked in the mud. But she could wash it off later. She broke into a brisk canter, eager to hand over the hive.
It didn't take long to get to the herd. Other Ereais stared in surprise, their noses wrinkled at Hess' smell. The new arrival sheepishly made her way through the creatures, searching for Deviet. He bounced up to her, his eyes sparkling. "There. Your honey." Thespian smiled, dropping the hive. It cracked open. Deviet gestured for his friends and they all gathered round, their long violet tongues flashing out to lick at the sticky sweetness.
Hess patiently waited until they were finished. The fawns were grinning as they thanked her, affectionately nuzzling her cheek. They were careful to avoid her legs, the fur of which was now clogged up and setting. Yep, worth it. Thespian thought to herself, smiling again at the infants and returning their nuzzles. After a few minutes of chatting and sharing the honey, Hess turned away. "I'll bring back more treats," she promised. "But I'm off for a bath."

Username: fifetastic
Name: Naia
Gender:{female all ready, no changing}
Personality: Naia is a quiet little Ereai. She is open to most others and their opinions/ideas, but is very hesitant to share her own. Because of her quiet, shy disposition, she is a very good listener and a quick learner. Ready to listen to any others, she is rather slow to trust others with her true thoughts. She is quite well-rounded and fairly talented, but is fast to deny praise even when she deserves it.
