How does this Kalon cope with the current state of the water it lives in?

The oil spill started, she went into a protective state and tried to remove all other animals from the pound with the help of her friend who was a little boy who helped carry who are unable to walk in a pail filled with clean water so he can transport them to a clean source of water away from human civilization.

All the animals were removed she relaxed but fright still lingered inside her. The little boy returned to her pound he insisted that she should move into another pound as well but she shook her, knowing he did not have the strength to help move her. After the boy left she fell into a deep slumber due to being completely exhausted from the day's events.

She awoke to herself being completely transformed into a gooey, mawkish monster. She cried out shrieks and wails when she came to the surface to see her beautiful home and self completely swallowed up by the oil. The cries were so petrifying it caused all the fish in nearby bodies of water to travel further down to the bed of their own homes. The nearby village could hear her cries but disregarded it for the wind but when their fishermen returned, they returned empty-handed. They refused to believe they did nothing wrong.

Her screams of sorrow can still be heard but she will completely stop once in a while due to the little boy will returning to the pound with his pail of water and a clean rag. He'll do his best to rid her face of the oil and she is very thankful for her great friend and repays him in shiny shells.

How have you [the user] helped the environment or been environmentally friendly recently?

A few weeks ago, I took part in my state's Model Assembly (Model Assembly in quick definition is part of a Youth In Government program that simulates state government legislative) and successfully passed a mock bill that bans mining in the U.S. Canada boundary waters. It wasn't a direct help to our environment but it opened some of my peer's eyes on how in trouble our world is in at the moment.

Other things I've done are taking part in the worldwide climate strike on Sept. 20th and I also always carry tote bags with me when shopping and also use them to hold trash that I pick up on the street, I don't buy plastic and I don't eat red meat unless it'd otherwise just be thrown away.

Backstory:

Long, long ago in the heavens of the sky lived a female named Gaia. Gaia was a powerful and almighty goddess who held reign over all the heavens, but she got lonely, so lonely and longed for a companion. So, she decided to create one. With her magic she created Ouranous, an almighty and powerful God. As she collapsed she felt strong paws around her lifting her up and she stared star crossed into his eyes. They felt an instant connection, after all, Gaia sacrificed half of her soul to create Ouranous, her soulmate. They lived happily for a many hundred years when Gaia started to long for children of her own. So she and Ouranous came together and created earth. On that earth they deposited their greatest creations, Kalons. For many years the kalons lived in peace until they started getting angry, greedy, envious and malicious. Wars broke out and all over earth was chaos. Heart broken by what was happening to her children Gaia took matters into her own hands. She descended onto earth in the middle of the battle field. Glowing white and gorgeously dressed. Everyone stopped and stared in awe. In a booming voice she called "my children! You dare try to destroy what I have created? I am your mother, the goddess of all life. I created you. You shall obey me when I say stop! This is wrong, my creatures should be living in peace and harmony not destruction and chaos!" With that Gaia ascended into the sky and greeted Ouranous like she did every morning. The kalons lived for many years in happiness and Gaia watched as they grew and developed. She was proud. Until one day she noticed her creatures dumping trash everywhere, destroying her beautiful forests and polluting the water with their toxic fumes. With that our story shall begin...pray do join us on an almighty adventure to save planet Earth.

Main story:

'beep beep!' a car angrily honked as Gaia swam across the street. "Watch where you're going lady!" The Kal at the wheel screamed. Gaia was still getting used to her now very modern creation. She had descended onto earth to convince them to change their ways. She had taken only a set of clothes and some golden jewelery from above. She swan inside the pawn shop and greeted the Kal behind the counter and walked towards the trading window. She placed her jewelery down. "Id like to pawn these for some money." She said firmly and looked at the intricate jewelery. She saw the pawn shop owners eyes widen before he eagerly grabbed the jewelry and inspected it. "T-this is beyond anything I've ever seen! Such intricate patterns and so much gold and jewels! I'll give you 500,000 kalbucks for these" he said eyeing her and she accepted eagerly. With that money she could get a house and some clothes and food. She walked back out the store pocket full of money and a weight of her shoulders. She wouldn't need to worry about money for a while. She hailed a taxi and instructed him to bring her to the nearest real estate office. She got out at her stop paid the driver and stared at the looming building. She walked in and that sealed her fate. She would be living with the kals for a while.

3 years later

Over the years with the waste she had become dark and murky, her beautiful flowing fur turned into drippy oil. She turned scary but that didn't deter her from her goal. She kept on going and going and didn't give up. She started to grow lighter again with her progress. Gaia had a steady job and a good apartment on the good side of town. She lived zero waste and was proud of herself. She knew her small change wouldn't help the world and had been watching in despair as the world became more polluted and waste filled. She had taken into her paws a goal to gain influence and an education. She was now a very well respected kalon in the community. She had high influence and a good job. She missed dearly Ouranous and wished he was here with her. She was going today to a save the world Swim and would be speaking there. She and many other kals would be fighting to change the water they lived in and to help the land kalons too.

She arrived on scene and was greeted by many fellow kals who supported her cause. She was happy so many people wanted to help make a change. As they were getting ready for her speech a Small merkal came up to Gaia and asked "Miss? may I please have your autograph?" the merkal asked and Gaia smiled, she loved kids and hoped for some one day with Ouranous. She nodded and signed the little girls paper before turning back to talk to her manager. She then heard cheering and took a deep breath before swimming onto the stage. She raised her hands and silence fell. She began.
"How could you? How could you destroy the most precious thing ever given to you? How could you pollute and litter the one thing that keeps us alive! How could you! Damn it! Stop! Stop, stop, stop! This needs to end. We aren't Harry Potter with magic powers that can change the world in the flick of a wand! We aren't the only ones living here think of all the animals you are hurting, think of yourselves! Think of all the damage one single person could do! You can make a change you can affect the world with just a few simple things. The world isn't made to regenerate. Once it's gone it's gone for good. You should think before you do things make a change make a difference. The continuing change in climate across the world is posing threat to our environment and society as a whole with no clear remedy. Change in the climate has various repercussions and the most dreadful one is pollution in air and water, which are the most essential requirements of life. Another major problem that has been observed is the constant increase in sea levels on a global scale because of the increase in ocean temperatures. Due to all these, small ice caps and mountain glaciers are melting faster along with the Greenland’s and Antarctic Ice Sheet. Dustbins should be used to throw the waste materials and garbage. People should be mindful to segregate between the Blue and the Green Dustbins and use them as specified.
The sad part is that most of the world isn't contributing to change. we're torturing the earth and pouring every kind of evil in the sea, we violate nature and our children have to pay the penalty. If we don’t pay heed to protect the environment, it is ultimately going to harm our next generation. Imagine a life without water and only extremely poisonous air to breathe? We certainly don’t want to give such a dangerous living to our fellow kalons, so this is high time we should be more cautious and responsible! We need to take the step! We need to make a change! Fight for what's ours and HELP SAVE EARTH!" with that Gaia burst out crying and collapsed. She was devasted how could she cope with this? Easy, the answer was: Keep on going. No matter how hard it gets, just keep on going. And she did, for the next 20 years Gaia traveled around the globe and made a change above and below sea. She held seminars, marches, protests and much more. Gaia even got to meet the president! Kalonald Trumpon! She became the worlds most famous kalon. Everyone looked up to her everyone wanted to make a change. She had succeeded in changing the world, she had brought all pollution and waste dumping to an end. The world was a cleaner place. She had stopped first, the use of big factories, then the use of Small factories, the use of cars, trucks, motorcycles, anything that produced greenhouse gases. She had changed it so stores only used biodegrable bags and reusable ones. She taught people how to hand farm and work together to get the job done. She had made the world a better Place. She was proud of herself. One day she gathered all the worlds leaders together and she sat writing on her Computer. She finished her writing and showed it on the white screen. first things first - what is climate change?

well, to answer your question, climate change is a change in global or regional climate patterns, particularly a change apparent from the mid to late twentieth century onwards. It is also attributed hugely by the increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by the use of fossil feuls.

according to NASA, global climate change, here are some causes : the greenhouse effect (many gases causes the earth to become hotter as it is directed towards the earth and cannot escape) and burning fossil feuls (coals and oil).

the consequences of such causes include (also from the website) : Earth itself will become hotter, a stronger greenhouse effect what will melt glaciers and warm oceans, causing them to grow larger and contribute to sea level rise, and the heat might possibly corrup the genetic makeup of natural plants.

speaking of greenhouse gases, did you know that the rising emissions and the inactivity about climate is actually forbade by the paris agreement? well, perhaps not forbae, but as dramatic as it may be maybe that's what we need. the paris agreement - which was signed in 2015 - is made up of pledges to reduce greenhouse gas pollution.

fancy how that went, hm?

regardless. as said by national geographic, the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change (IPCC) has decided to set a goal to keep warming under two degress celsius (three point six fahrenheit) and would even like to go as keeping the warming under or at one point five degrees celsius (two points seven degrees fahrenheit).

Both targets are apparently in jeopardy. apparently many countries have already disregarded the agreement, and emissions must drop by twenty - five to fifty - five percent for things to be remotely safe. In face, things are so bad previous research shows that even if our politcal leaders got to working, it might not fix things!

fear not, though, my dears, because we are not helpless. yes, there are several solutions needed to reverse what the generations that came before have done, but luckily, nearly all of them exist! most of them, however, are based on how we, humans, act and behave.

a quote from national geographic will sum this up quite well. "the required changes span technologies, behaviors, and policies that encourage less waste and smarter use of our resources. For example, improvements to energy efficiency and vehicle feul economy, and solar power, biofeuls from organic waste, setting a price on carbon, and are all potent ways to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide and other gases trapping heat on the planet.

even more so, scientists are working on a way to sustain hydrogen, which is mostly (and currently) derived from natural gases, in order to feed zero-emission feul cells for transportation and electricity. one or the last things I want to tell you is as well as halting greenhouse gas emissions, we must also find a way to extract carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

and now...

now is the last part.

this is the most important, most crucial, most devastating thing you will hear. if you care at all, this news will make you jump into action. if it doesn't, then we truly are doomed.

how long did you think we had to reverse this? ten year? twelve years? maybe fifteen?

maybe.

we have between sixteen MONTHS and fifteen years to make this better.

we have very, very limited time to deal with this heating crisis, along with the other environmental challenges.

last year, the IPCC said that to keep the rise in, emissions of carbon dioxide would have to be cut by forty five percent by 2030. However, today, ovservers recognize that the decisive political steps taken by the ones we trust to lead us will have to happen before the end of 2020.

"the climate math is brutally clear: while the world can't be healed within the next few years, it may be fatally wounded by negligence until 2020." said Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, founder and now director emeritus of the Potsdam Climate Institute" - bbc. news.

so do you see? do you understand? we do not have time to dilly dally and play around. We have a DEAD. LINE. if we don't make people wake up with a nice, cold bucket of water, we're going to be killed by the hottest heatwave - induced death known to man.

with the end of her presentation she sat down and stared at everyone. They stared back then slowly everyone started to clap and cheer. She glowed with pride. She stood up and said "Thank you all!" with the end of their meeting they left and after that the word was a beter Place. it had become the most cleanest it had ever been and she was proud! with that she ascended into the sky to be with Ouranous. As she arrived in the heavens she touched Ouranous and was restored to her former glory as a beautiful Pink multicolored kal! They watched as the earth lived happily ever after till the end of time.

Part 2

I am active in the climate change community and I am a zero waste person. I reuse everything. I refrain from buying new things. I am trying to become vegan but I got sick and need meat. I do save the earth marches and trash days where we collect trash from around the city and clean it up but I also do protests against climate change and such.

• member of the cathorian court. has been around for ~200 years? she doesn't ever remember not being there. hel stays in a room with a large, ornate pool with a glass ceiling so she can look out and see the stars. has a bunch of waterfalls n stuff in there.
• naturally appears as form 2, but nobility is mortified by the 'ugly' dark oil so they routinely 'purify' her and clean the water, forcing her into form 1? she despises it and is usually very fatigued and weak like that, but never puts up a fight. strong emotions or a vision can bring her back to her natural state
• has visions of the past, present, & future. treated very well bc of this-- she's fine with the attention, likes that she can help the cathorian people.
• hel is really,, complacent. she doesn't really care that she spends her days lounging around languidly, and knows that the court respects her due to her visions so she can do whatever she wants and has nothing to lose.
xxx- becomes infuriated when a guard asks her if she's satisfied with her life
• doesn't often leave the palace? can be mobile due to 'the carriage', a huge wagon/stroller thing with only a thin layer of water in it to keep it light but comfy. hel likes to see the bustling streets of the marketplace close to the palace, and doesn't understand why people stare. she'll often say that she knows she's a sight for sore eyes.
• really big into material goods!! hela loves pretty shiny things and asks her guards to buy her stuff all the time
• water in form 1 doesn't really do anything,, but depending on her intent, hel's oil can either hurt or heal.
