Explanation:
The mask itself fits snugly on its wearer's head, and may even feel comforting to wear. It offers great vision, and better breathing than you'd expect.
The mask connects itself to the wearer, making it almost like an exoskeleton to the wearer. People wearing the mask claim to feel as if the antenna are theirs, as well as being able to taste with the tonug and see with the bug-like eyes.
All of the previous wearers have described feeling a connection up to weeks afterward depending on the time they spent wearing it.
This has led many to eventually abandon the mask, due to discomfort in the face from still being connected to the mask in that time period.

The story with Tien, is different.

Tien was a wanderer, and like most, was just there.
The mask let them become something more than what they once were.
A friend, to the flame. To all that surround it.

Tien lived around in the darkness, scavenging for food and shelter every single day. They lived off the earth, looking for a bright way to see the day. It wasn't very easy.

The mask found Tien, one day, while hiding in some ruins from some beast outside. They tried it on, and it went off well rom then.
They've been connected for years, living together, surviving together, existing together.

They are now one.

explanation [500 words max]: I thought a simple design contrasting the kalon would be cool. I chose to make the eyes closed, because I imagine him being blind as he has no pupils. The cheerful smile disguises his sad face, and the swirl is to add a little decoration.

explanation: the soft yellow mask was bestowed upon the young maiden during one of her birthdays, the kalon looking up at her frail great-grandmother with a questioning brow raised. her colors didn't match with the golden and silvery tone of the accessory, and she was about to hand it back before the older family member insisted she take it. despite the protest, the old kalon insisted she at least put it on, just once.
and so, angela put on the mask, those sweet blue eyes peering through the small slits of the mask, but she was still able to see the outside world, if even more clearly now. it fit snugly on her face, the muzzle just right for her snout, the mask was almost even comfortable! she removed it to speak, only to find her great-grandmother doing something else, a wide grin on the elder's face. perhaps that meant she could keep the antique, which could hide the dark black pelt behind a soft golden glow. angela grinned, adorning the mask once more and prancing off to show off to her friends.
